St. Louis County police arrested a North St. Louis man late Wednesday in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 42-year-old man whose body was found earlier in the day on Branch Road about a mile west of Fenton. Investigators said that Joseph E. Judd, of the 2800 block of north 14th Street, a roofer, had been stabbed at two locations-once in a home in the 2700 block of Blair Avenue and then more than 12 times at the location where his body was found. Police said warrants would be sought Thursday charging the suspect, 37, with first degree murder. The suspect confessed to committing the murder late Wednesday, according to police. County police, Lt. Darrell Kitrel; head of the department's crimes against persons unit, said an autopsy showed that Judd had been stabbed numerous times in the chest and back. The body was lying on the side of Branch Road near Smizer Mill Road, where it was seen about 1:45 am by a newspaper carrier, who called police. There are a few homes in the vicinity, but an area has been cleared for a subdivision, police said. More to come later!!!!!!!!!
