DragonBall Z
The Orion Saga
Volume I
Voices of the Past(Revised)

Chapter one.

The wind was cold. Colder than cold, it was positively freezing. But cold can teach you many things. Death, hate, anger, all these seem to come from the dark and cold recesses of the heart. Are these weaknesses, or strengths? The saiyon's believed they were assets, and that was how Tervin was raised. On a planet Similar to the one on which he now stood. One that had almost every different ecosystem imaginable. Plains, forest, swamps, desert, and possibly a hundred others. But Tervin preferred the polar regions. The relentless cold so reminded him of the planet which he was raised.

It was time. Time to take revenge for his mentor, and his mother. Tervin had spent most of his life hunting down saiyon's, thanks to his mentor Baret. The bastard saiyon's surely won’t get away from him here. No, he’d herd many things about the lone surviving saiyon's. He knew that the one called Kakarrot would never leave his adoptive home of earth. Although it didn’t really seem like typical saiyon’s behavior. But then again Tervin had yet to meet two saiyon’s who were exactly alike.

As Tervin gazed at the clouded peaks of the frozen wastes he thought about the present. Long ago he never would have thought he would get this close to his goal. Had it not been for Baret, and a third party that seemed to like staying discrete, He never would have gotten off his home world. His mind trembled as he wondered not for the first time just who it was helping them. but deep down it didn’t matter. As long as it all ended with the grinding of Saiyon skulls beneath his boot heel.

Baret was an amazingly brilliant scientist. He had found Tervin on the remote icy world of Cantor. Just barley alive under his mothers arm. It was obvious that they’re attackers had no honor. To kill a defenseless mother and child for no reason except that they found it amusing. So to help Tervin gain vengeance against his mothers killer he had augmented Tervin ever since. Although his fight had ended with the deaths of many saiyon's, he had never found the one who had killed his mother.

When planet Vegita was destroyed he had given up all hope of revenge. Then one day he was on shore leave with his friend Goran, he overheard some Ex-planet trade workers babbling on about what happened to they’re boss. Tervin didn’t know anything about Super Saiyon's, but the fact that they were saiyon's was enough to get his attention. It took quite a beating on the squealers, but he finally got out the name of the saiyon's refuge... Earth.

Oh well...the past is left behind and so it must stay. There was only one thing to focus on now, the death and destruction of the last saiyon's. "Soon, very soon, doctor Baret, we will both have our revenge." With that thought Tervin leapt into the chilling air and flew across the sky like a bolt of lightening.

The warm sun shown through the window of Gohan's room. The birds song drifted through the window marking a very beautiful day. The birds chirped on as Gohan's eyes began to flutter.
"Arraaakkk!" Came a sound from the outside of Gohan's window. With a flash Gohan was on his feet, and ready for action. His reflexes were peaked as he quizzically peered outside his window from across the room. Hovering outside was a small purple dragon, if you count small as being about the size of a baby elephant.

"Icarus!" Gohan exclaimed with a smile. He rushed to the window and stuck His head out the window. As soon as his head was within reach the little dragon licked his little friend. "Ah.. heh hee. Quit that Icarus. That tickles my ears." Gohan giggled. "Arraak" The little dragon replied.
"What is it boy." Gohan asked "Do you wan go out and play?"
The dragon swooped up in the air to a few feet away from the house. "Arrraaakk"
"OK hold on. Just let me get dressed." With that Gohan leapt back into his room.

The table stood firm even under the on slot and beating it was taking. There were few forces on earth that could withstand Goku’s eating habits. Chi-Chi rushed to get more food on the table. As soon as it was on the surface it was consumed in the vast blur as Goku ate.

"I don’t know how he does it." Chi-chi thought to herself as she finally gave up any hope of a quiet breakfast with her husband. "If I were to eat that much I’d be a blimp, but he never seems to gain a pound!" Chi-chi though as her blood stared to boil just thinking bout it.

Goku whipped the last bowl of rice into his hands and began engulfing it into his mouth. In a flash the contents of the bowl were no more. He burped as he scoured the table for some leftovers that he might have missed. Finally his eyes met Chi-chi’s. Her face had the look of an overripe tomato. "Uh-ohh" Goku whimpered "Uh...Honey, is something wrong?"

Goku’s quizzical look made Chi-chi even madder. "What do you think?" she snarled in a calm but overheated voice.
"Uh...I love you" Goku smiled. What he do? All he did was sit and enjoy breakfast. "Of all the husbands I could have...." Chi-chi’s bantering was suddenly drowned out by the sound of childish laughter.

Goku looked towards the hall as Gohan ran into the kitchen. "Hey mom. Is it OK if I skip breakfast and go play with Icarus?" Gohan smiled. Chi-Chi’s face never took her sight off Goku. Then she suddenly turned her head to Gohan, forgetting she was ever even mad at Goku. "Huh...But Gohan.. Have you forgotten?" Chi-Chi replied. "Don’t you remember what Krillan Promised you?" Chi-Chi smiled. She was surprised that Gohan had forgotten. After all, he’d been counting the days for at least a month.

Finally it dawned on Gohan. "OH, YEAH. Krillan and I were going to the carnival today. It’s supposed to be the biggest one yet. It’ll have a circus, rides, clowns and everything!" The child exclaimed. He couldn’t believe he’d forgotten. He suddenly disregarded playing with Icarus. " Can I go get Krillan now mom? Please?" The child smiled up at her.

It was one of those smiles the made Chi-chi want to hug her son and never let him go. It almost broke her heart. "Of course Gohan." Chi-Chi smiled "But be sure to take that flee ridden monster with you! I don‘t want it hanging around the house all day!"
"Yea! Thanks mom! " Gohan exclaimed with glee as he took off out the door. Chi-Chi suddenly remembered something. She turned her face back towards Goku, who was peering his head into the fridge to see if there was anything else. "AS FOR YOU MISTER!"
Goku froze.

* * * * *

"Icarus!" Gohan called out as he ran out of the house. "Icarus, where are you?"
"Arraaakkk!" came a sound behind him.
"Icarus!" Gohan yelled and turned around. In his haste to find his pet, he neglected to go around an obstacle in his path. He fell to the ground with a thud. "Ouch!" Gohan exclaimed "I don’t remember us having a wall there." Gohan gradually opened his eyes, and slowly brought them upward.

Before him stood a man. His very presence stood out among the trees and plants of the surrounding forest. His face was stern and concentrated. "Watch where your going kid!" The figure shouted. Finally Gohan realized who it was and smiled. "Sorry Vegita. I guess I got into a hurry." Gohan apologized. Vegita then grabbed the boy and set him on his feet. "Thanks!" Gohan said as he dusted himself off. "Is Kakarrot here? I have.... business with him." Vegita said smugly.
"He’s inside getting yelled at." Gohan said before he ran behind Vegita, and off to find his pet. "Icarus! You didn’t leave without me did you?"

"Heh... Kids." Vegita said as he watched Gohan disappear behind the cottage.
"WHY YOU!! What do you mean if I only exercise d more!" Came a harsh voice from inside the house. Vegita turned toward the door expecting a fight, and he wasn’t far from the truth. Suddenly the door swung open, followed closely by Goku. Goku was being chased by Chi-Chi swinging a rolling pin. "But honey...OUCH!...What’d I do?...I’m sorry, I shouldn‘t have said....Ouch!...I’m still hungry...Ouch!" Goku pleaded as Chi-Chi continuously rammed him over the head with the pin.

Vegita just stared in awe. "The most powerful Saiyon in the universe, and he allows himself the be unmercifully beaten by a...a...Woman?" Vegita thought to himself. " Ha, Ha. Ha , HAAA!" Vegita roared. Chi-Chi looked at him with surprise. She hadn’t even noticed him while she took out her aggression on Goku. Goku meanwhile used this as an opportunity to escape. Chi-Chi quickly realized Goku’s swift departure and continued the chase. Vegita continued his laughing, as Goku found a hiding place right behind his former adversary. Vegita finally noticed and opened his eyes. Only to be shut again by the blow of the rolling pin.

Vegita didn’t flinch as the wooded pin shattered into splinters. He merely looked at her. "She.. She...She hit me!" This time it was Goku’s turn to laugh. Vegita looked at him "Shut up fool!" Chi-Chi took a couple steps back. Holding up shattered rolling pin she just stared at it like in a trance. "I loved that rolling pin!" She cried to herself. She ran to the door of her little cottage and looked at Goku "Don’t come back... Until... Until... DINNER TIME!" She cried as she slammed the door. Vegita merely looked at Goku and said "That time of the month, eh Kakarrot?"

* * * * *

Gohan continued to look for his pet. "Icarus, Where are you?" Gohan was starting to get annoyed. He could have been at Master Roshi’s at least thirty minutes ago.
"Arrack!" came a noise from above. He looked up and finally saw his pet. "The poor thing must have gotten scared of Vegita and hid." Gohan thought as he flew up to the cottage’s roof. "Icarus, there you are. What’s the matter? Did Vegita scare you?" Gohan asked. The little dragon merely gave a solemn face and licked the small boys cheek. "He, heh. Icarus, I told you that tickles!" The little boy smiled.

"Hey boy would you like to go to a carnival?" Gohan asked
"Arrack?" The dragon looked at him Quizzically.
"Come on you’ll like it! It’s lots of fun! There’s ride’s, a circus, and popcorn!" Icarus got excited at the sound of popcorn. Gohan climbed onto the little creature’s back, and pointed towards Master Roshi’s place. "That way, boy. Lets go!"

Chapter two.

Vegita laughed as Goku continuously pleaded with his front door. "Please, honey. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it" Goku cried. He finally gave up the front door and went to the window. All he saw was darkness. "Is it really that time of the month, as Vegita says" Goku shouted through the window. "Whatever that means." Goku whispered to himself. Suddenly an object came through the window colliding itself with Goku’s head. Goku fell to the ground surprised by the sudden attack.

"Ha...Ha...Ha..." Vegita continued to laugh hysterically. "You might as well give up Kakarrot. She needs time to cool down." Goku looked up at him and smirked.
"Yeah, I guess your right." Goku looked to his side and saw the object that hit him. It was the remains of a DragonBall, still in stone form. Vegita bent over and picked up the shinny sphere.

"Perhaps you should wish for a better wife." Vegita joked. "Then maybe you wouldn’t have as many bruises."
"Naw, Chi-Chi and I were made for each other. Tonight I’ll come home and It’ll be as if nothing had happened." Goku said as he rubbed the bump on his head. "I’ll give her this though, she has quite an arm!"

"Ha, ha ha ha ha..." Vegita laughed. "Poor Kakarrot. Can’t even find peace in his own house!" Vegita smiled. Goku was getting tired Vegita’s joking. It was bad enough that Chi-Chi was mad at him and he didn’t even know why. But he sure didn’t need Vegita's rubbing it in. "What do you want anyway?" Goku asked.

Vegita finally quit laughing and got down to business. "There’s a martial arts tournament in three months over in Paketon. I’m planning entering to show them what real power is. It’s a small tournament , invitation only, and I just happened to come across such an invitation. I‘m betting I can get you in as well." Vegita stated as he held up a small piece of paper.

Goku blinked. What was Vegita‘s angle. "Sure. Why not?" Goku replied. "What’s his game." Goku thought to himself.
"Good. I expect there to be no real competition there, but you never know. let’s head on out to Korin’s tower and pick up some of those.. what did you call them?"
"Senzu beans." Goku said jumping into the air. "And let’s just hope he has some left." He remarked as both he and Vegita shot though the air.

* * * * *

Tervin smiled as he finally reached the end of the arctic circle. He had spent months there hollowing out the inside of one of the mountains. There was something about the ice that caused communications to disrupt and carry off into oblivion. Now that he was far away from the disruption Baret should hear him loud and clear.

He taped a little devise surrounding the back of his right ear. "Tervin to Deceus, do you copy?" There was a little bit of static and then came an answer.
"This is Deceus. Report."
"The Arctic base is hollowed out and ready for construction. Over." Again the static held to his every word. The Deceus needed a major overhaul and this was definitely the time to do it. It would take at least a few days to get the project up and running anyway.

"Copy that Tervin. Project construction will begin immediately. Your orders are to return to the site and oversee." The last was lost in the static, but Tervin understood it anyway. It meant another three or four day’s of waiting. Hiding his power with the XL2 scouter. No way. He’d been cooked up in the arctic to long. He was definitely ready for some action.

"That’s a negative, Deceus. I have some plans of my own." Tervin turned off his scouter. There was no way he was going to give away the project. He’d just rough the saiyon's up a bit. Yeah...give them a little preview of what’s coming.

This is going to be interesting. Tervin thought. His scouter had picked up some pretty high power levels. One even peeked at 20,000. No matter. His power was much higher than that. Oh yes this will be fun.

* * * * *

"Just where in hell does he think he’s going!" Baret screamed from his throne on board the Deceus. "Damn him. He’s not ready. There’s no way he can take out a Super Saiyon." His mind rambled. "Goran! Give me a power reading on Tervin." Baret shouted at the peon at the control panel. "When Tervin left for earth four months ago he had a power level of only 50,000. The master scanner onboard the ship picked up a power level of at least 500,000. Unless Tervin had vastly Improved, there is no way he can win a one on one conflict."

"Sorry sir, he must have his dampener up full power. I can’t get a reading." Goran replied. "Damn him!...Aghh. I hate doing this to the boy but I have no choice. Tap into his scouter and shut it down, get a reading, and then turn it back on." Baret ordered. "Hopefully none of the sayons on earth have scouters. Or else this could put Tervin in some serious trouble." he thought to himself.
"Yes sir." Goran replied as he relayed the code to Tervin's scouter.

* * * * *

Tervin was flying at full speed towards the area that the high power was detected when his scouter started to vibrate. "Huh!" Said Tervin as the little receiver on the back of his head began to expand. Quickly Tervin came to full stop. Finally the devise exposed a little screen over his right eye. "SCOUTER SHUTTING DOWN. DAMPENING FIELD OFF-LINE." The devise hummed.
"OH HELL!" Tervin screamed. "If the Saiyon's have scouter’s they’ll pick me up for sure. I’ll lose the element of surprise!" His mind jumbled. "XL2! Reinitialize now!" Tervin commanded. No response. Someone must have tampered with his scouter from the ship!

Meanwhile he flew to the surface. Hiding in some bushes just in case. "If the sayons have scouters though there was no way the bushes will hide me. damn"

* * * * *

"Got it sir!" said Goran. " We’ll have a full readout...now...reinitializing Tervin's scouter." He pushed in the restart code and relayed it back to Tervin's scouter. "The computer will take at least five minutes to decipher the data considering we had to get it so quickly."
"Yes, yes.. whatever. Is his scouter back on?" Baret asked.
"It’ll restart in four minutes."
"And how long will it take for the saiyon's to reach him from they’re current location"
"Approximately three minutes...if we calculated they’re power level right."
"Damn that’s just two close!"

* * * * *

Huh! thought Vegita as he stopped in mid air. Goku noticed this and stopped as well. "Do you feel that Kakarrot?" Vegita said as he looked south. Goku stareed in that direction, reching out with his mind.
"Yes, There is definitely an unusual power over in that direction. "Goku was astonished. Just a few seconds ago there was nothing. Now in it’s place is a power different anything he’d ever felt. For some reason he found himself comparing it to his son.. Like it was there all along. As if someone had pulled off it’s mask. "Let’s go! I have a bad feeling about this!" With that both he and Vegita shot through the clouds.

* * * * *

Finally his scouter was coming back online. "DAMPENING FIELD WILL BE BACK ONLINE IN ABOUT FOUR MINUTES" The devise foretold. "Damn that’s to long! XL2 bring the scanner online" within a few seconds it began it’s scanning mode picking up power levels all over the place. "Search for power levels over at least 100,000." The scouter buzzed. Then picked up what he was afraid of. Two really high powers coming his direction. "Damn! They do have scouter's. According to my readings they’ll be here within two minutes. I’ll have to run. damn!" With that thought he pushed himself off the ground and speeded toward the west.
* * * * *

"The Computers completed the annuluses, sir" Goran informed his master. "It’s coming up on your right view screen now...BY FREEZA! His power.. that's impossible."
"What?" Baret asked his minion. He turned his head toward his right viewing panel as the readout came though. As he looked at the results he understood what Goran was so upset about. "This is impossible. How’d he get that strong?" Baret questioned to no one. "He’d better not kill them. I have plans for those saiyon's!" Baret gulped. If the saiyon’s died, he’d have a much worse power to answer too.

* * * * *

"It’s coming from over there." Goku pointed. It seemed that the power they were feeling was coming from the middle of the Coytan Forest. It’s trees were said to be at least 100,000 years old or more. Vegita smiled. "I think your right Kakarrot. There is definitely a large power over there somewhere."
"You go in through the left I’ll circle around from the right. Well both meet in the middle." Goku said as he flew off towards the left end of the great forest. "Well Kakarrot I hope this proves fruitful." Vegita said to himself.

* * * * *

"Humph!" Tervin exclaimed as he hid in the bushes beside a great oak. "They really expect to catch me of guard like that. Damn! One more minute until the scouter’s dampening field will go online." Tervin thought as he checked his scouter one more time. "I swear, whoever messed with my scouter will pay with they’re lives!"

* * * * *

Vegita and Goku met in the middle of the forest. Vegita looked around. He sensed something... over to the left! "Over there Kakarrot! He’s in some bushes!" Vegita made for the bushes at full speed, followed very closely by Goku.

* * * * *

"Damn! no more time! Have to do something quickly!" Tervin quickly leapt out of the bushes, and streamed past Goku and Vegita. "Huh!" Was the only words that came out of Vegita's mouth before Tervin acted. He quickly spun around and put his hands up to he temples. "Solar flare!" He screamed. As Tervin's face exploded in a bright white light he gazed directly into Vegita's eye’s.

* * * * *

Suddenly the forest was filled with a white blinding light. Both Vegita and Goku put the hands to shield their eyes but it was to late. The damage had been done. "Ahhhgg.. Dirty trick...where’d he learn that?" Goku exclaimed. He continued to rub his eyes. Finally his eyesight returned. "Whoa.. finally, I can see again. "Goku gasped. "Where did he go? I can’t even sense him?" Goku looked around. Not a trace of they’re attacker. "I can’t feel a thing Vegita. Do you sense him?" Goku looked around for Vegita. He was on the ground on his knees. "Vegita. Did you see which way he went?"
"No Kakarrot. I seriously doubt that." Vegita said.
"Why...What’s wrong." Goku put his hand on Vegita's shoulder.
"BECAUSE I’M BLIND!" Vegita erupted in a fit of rage. Everything within a mile radius was instantly evaporated in a wake of streaming energy. Goku did his best to block the blow that his friends rage had sent in all directions. The power Vegita was using was absolutely ludicrous.

Slowly, the eruption had ceased. Goku brought his arms down from his face. He felt clobbered. It had been a while since he’d blocked a blow like that. Gradually he looked around. There had been trees in this forest that were over 200 feet tall. Now in there places there wasn’t so much as a stump. Every tree, animal, and plant was destroyed. For as far as Goku could see there was only silence, and the raging pound of Vegita's breath.

* * * * *

"Sir...the power...reading on that blast..."Goran stuttered as he continually tried to verify, and revivify the scan of the recent explosion. "What’s it say fool?!" Baret shouted.
"Over one million." Goran whispered. Baret heard him anyway. He just stared at the peon. How was it possible. There was no way it could be true. The data never showed. And yet, there it was. Finally he managed to speak. "Did Tervin get out alive?"

* * * * *

Tervin had only seconds to evade the blow. Zigzagging between trees, and over rocks. His scouter’s field came online just seconds after his Blinding Blast had ignited only a few inches from the smaller saiyon's face. "Must have blinded the moke." Tervin thought to himself. "Damn. I have to get a reading on this. Scouter. Scan mode." His scouter expanded putting the purple screen over his right eye.

The scouter buzzed as it scanned the blast. Amazing. It was still going strong. Finally the scouter began to slow down as it fixated on the power that was laying itself be for his very eyes. Tervin stuttered. "Impossible. That bastard only had a power level of 5,000 a second ago. There’s no way I could have survived a fight with him. Thank god I got out of there when I did." Finally the scouter stopped. It read 1,050,000.

Tervin stepped back. He had scanned this planet for months after he and his mentor had arrived. Never had his scouter gone above 20,000. Now this massive power suddenly presents itself. There was no way he was going to show himself now. No, he’d wait. just like Doc Baret had planned.

Tervin smiled. "You just wait. My friend. You’ll be begging me for mercy when I get threw with you." Tervin started up into the air again. As he looked around he noticed a waterfall in the distance. "Great! I’ve got a thirst the like of which King Yamma's never seen.

* * * * *

Chapter three.

Vegita finally calmed down. Goku had rarely seen him this enraged. I guess I’d be the same way if I were him. "Vegita...would you like some help.."
"I don’t need your sympathy, Fool!" Vegita sneered. "Just get me in firing distance of the bastard that blinded me!" Vegita took a step forward and tripped over a small bolder that lay before him. "Damn! I swear I will find the one who did this to me and make him pay. There won’t be enough left of his soul to send to hell!" Vegita screamed. Goku just sat on a rock a few feet away and let Vegita take out his aggression. This was one time that Vegita deserved it.

At last, about five minutes after he’d once again forced an on slot against the surrounding terrain, he calmed down.

* * * *

"Wahoo!" yelled Gohan as he road on Icarus’s back across the ocean towards Master Roshi’s island. "There it is boy. That’s where we’ll meet Krillan." Gohan smiled as the dragon flew over the house. He jumped off the pets back and landed a three somersault flip just in front of the porch.

Icarus landed beside him. Gohan ran up the steps and quickly knocked on the door. He waited patiently as there finally came an answer. "Who is it?" Came an old disgruntled voice.
"It’s Gohan, Master Roshi." Gohan replied. The door quickly opened. Standing on the threshold was an elderly gentleman. Looked like just skin and bones to Gohan. He could hardly believe that this old fossil had once been the teacher of his father when he was little.

"Is Krillan here?" he asked. The old man didn’t say a word. "Hello.. Are you ok sir?" Gohan asked. Now he was getting worried. He hope the old goat hadn’t just died on him right then and there. Finally the came a sound from the old man, but it was not the sound Gohan had hoped to hear. The old man was snoring. "Excuse me sir." Gohan pleaded. Still no response. Finally Gohan got right up to the old mans ear. "IS KRILLAN HERE!" Gohan shouted at the top of his lungs.

* * * * *

"Aghhhhhh." The old man screamed as he flew across the room. After a few second of getting his head to clear, Master Roshi. finally opened his eyes. In front of him stood Goku’s little boy. It took a few minutes but he finally realized what had happened. "OH boy, did I have that dream again?" The old man stuttered. Gohan helped the old man to his feet. "What dream?" Gohan asked. Master Roshi. thought about this for a minute. Finally he remembered his dream. "Ho, ho. Just the one about Sandra Bullock and a bottle of Mao" replied Master Roshi. Master Roshi blinked. "OK kid I have to get back to sleep in a jiffy, so what do you want?" He asked.

Gohan smiled "Is Krillan here he promised he..."
"Yeah, Yeah. He’s probably out back training. Go bother him for a while." Master Roshi pointed toward the back door. "Now get, I got some serious sleeping to do." As Gohan sprang out the door, Master Roshi looked at his bed with great excitement.

* * * * *

Krillan was indeed out back training. About five hundred pushup’s, sit up’s, and pull-up’s. At least it was a great warm-up. Krillan counted as he hung on a tree branch, finishing up the last of his pull-up’s. "Four hundred and fifty seven, four hundred and fifty eight, four hundred and fifty nine..."
"HEY KRILLAN!" Yelled a voice from behind.

This sudden distraction was to much for Krillan. He suddenly lost his grip on the branch, and fell landing on his rear. Followed immediately by the branch he was holding onto. "Ouch!...OK who’s the wise guy?" Krillan asked as he looked around. "Oh.. hey Gohan. What’s up?"

Gohan bit his lip. "Are you OK Krillan?" Gohan asked.
"Yeah, just fine.. Heh heh." Krillan replied. Gohan put his hand out to help his friend to his feet.

Krillan looked tired. He breathed heavily as sweat poured from his forehead. Krillan just stood up and stared at the boy, trying to recover his breath. He couldn’t help but feel humiliated by his size. Him being the same size as his best friends son. That wouldn’t last long. Soon Gohan would be a good four feet taller and he already was just as strong as he. Ah well, Doesn’t help to be mindful of what can’t be helped.

"So Gohan. What brings you here?" Krillan gasped. Krillan knew exactly why the boy was there. He’d started training only to pass the time until the little boy arrived. Was just about to give up hope. Gohan just smiled. "Ah come on Krillan. You know what day it is."
"Huh." Krillan replied. He was goanna have fun with this. "I don’t recall. What day is it Gohan?" Krillan jeered. Gohan was to innocent to understand Krillan's joking. "Ahh Krillan. You promised we’d go to the carnival today, remember?" Krillan decided to play dumb. "Huh. I don’t remember saying that. Are you sure it wasn’t Piccolo?"
"Naw. Piccolo doesn’t like the carnival. I asked him." Gohan was starting to get annoyed. "Come on it open’s in 20 minutes." Gohan pleaded. Krillan turn around towards the house. "Sorry Gohan I still have to take a shower, do the dishes,..." Krillan stated as he named off about a hundred chores. "And then there’s Master Roshi. What if something happened and I wasn’t here? He’s getting so old there’s no telling how much trouble he could get into." Krillan was using all the willpower he had to keep from rolling on the floor laughing. His back was turned from the kid, but he could tell he was falling for it. Hook, line, and sinker. Krillan put his head down. " I guess you’d better just go on home Gohan. I’m sorry." This was starting to be to much. Gohan just stood there staring at Krillan's back. Finally fighting back a tear he turned toward to go around the house. "Ok.. Sniff.. I guess I’ll see you later.. Sniff." Gohan sobbed. Krillan turned toward the kid with a smile. "Hey Gohan." Gohan slowly turned around, head down. "SIKE!" Krillan laughed. Gohan's face brightened. He couldn’t believe he’d fallen for such an old trick. "Darn you Krillan."
"Really had you going didn’t I." Krillan said, falling down in laughter. After about a few minutes of uncontrollable laughter, Krillan finally sat up. "OK Gohan you ready."
"YEAH!" Gohan Exclaimed.
"OK, come on into the house while I take a quick shower."

Krillan ran into the house, followed by Gohan. Krillan ran quickly into the shower and started it up. Meanwhile, Gohan looked around. He’d been in the house several time’s, but had never had a chance to really look it over. He heard Master Roshi’s snoring in the background. The walls were covered with memorabilia. Including a picture of him and his father when he was four. Then he noticed something shinny on the coffee table. He walked over to inspect this interesting find.

As he picked up the object he finally realized what it was. It was Bulma’s dragon radar. "Bulma left that last time she was over." Krillan said from behind. Gohan just nodded, and pressed the button. Nothing showed up. That must mean that the dragon balls aren’t ready yet. Oh well it’s not like he had anything to wish for anyway.

"Krillan got dressed in a flash. He went back down the stairs to find the Gohan must have gone outside. Rushing through the door, he excitedly got ready for the long flight to the city. Just coming off the porch he stopped in his tracks. He hadn’t expected Gohan to bring his pet dragon along. "Whoa.. ha Icarus. You gave me quite a scare. heh heh.." Krillan stuttered.

"Arraaakkk!" The little dragon replied.
