Chapter Eight.

Goku smiled as he landed on the balcony, high atop Karin tower. Quickly he turned around and leaned over the edge. He'd lost Piccolo about halfway up, leaving him in a race to reach the top. After a few minutes of waiting he gave up. It was obvious that Piccolo wasn't yet powerful enough to fly this high. Finally he stood up ready to look for Korin. Suddenly he felt a tap on his shoulder. Goku quickly turned around, expecting to see the short feline that resided here.

As he turned he was surprised to find that it was Piccolo. From the look of him he was very out of breath. The look of surprise left Goku's face and quickly turned to one of concern. "Are you OK, Piccolo?" The Namek took in a few deep breaths and crossed his arms.

"I'm fine...While you were lazy and flew strait up, I decided to take the stairs...." He replied. His breathing continued to labor. "But remind me to request an elevator when we speak to Karin."

"Did some cat call my name?" Came a gruff but friendly voice from inside the tower. The two warriors faced the doorway and gazed upon the towers master. The two-foot tall cat still looked the same as the day Goku first climbed the tower. The cat walked up to the warriors, holding his staff in his left hand. "And what can I do for you crazy cats today?" Korin asked.

"Hey Korin." Goku replied. "Everything goin OK up here?" Korin nodded. Goku frowned. The cat never seemed to be one for small talk. "Well, we'd really like some Senzu beans...If it'd be OK with you sir?" Goku asked.

"What's wrong Goku. You seem healthy to me, and I'm sure your friend here will catch his breath in time." Korin turned back into the tower. Goku followed him. Putting his hand to the back of his head he asked. "Well they ain't for us. They're for a friend waiting at the bottom of the tower. He was injured during battle and..."

"Yes, yes. I know all about Vegeta's blindness."

Goku stopped dead in his tracks. Piccolo's eyes went wide, changing quickly back to their stern mold. He was receiving far to many surprises for one day. Goku suddenly remembered that Korin could see quite allot on top of the high tower. "If you already knew, why'd you.."

"Yajirobe has been gone for a few day's. So I figured talking to you cats would be better than talking to walls." Korin interrupted.

"Is his blindness permanent?" Korin asked turning towards Goku. Goku was taken back a step. "I don't know. Why? Shouldn't the Senzu beans cure him anyway?" Goku asked. This really worried him. He'd always thought that the Senzu beans could cure you no matter what kind of attack that you suffered. "The Senzu beans can only cure injuries that would take a longer time to heal, otherwise. If his blindness is permanent it won't do any good." Goku gulped. This wouldn't please Vegeta. "In any case I believe that you will need a few anywise." Goku continued to look at the little cat curiously.

"Why do you say that Karin?" Karin smiled.

"You'll find out when you return to Vegeta." Goku looked at him puzzled. Oh well.

"Hmm. Before we go I have another question." Korin looked up at him.

"And what would that be?"

"What can you tell me about Ten's technique "Solar Flare"." Korin turned and walk back out onto the balcony. "That's a question best left for Tenshinan himself." Goku nodded.

"Do you know where I can find him." Goku asked. Korin nodded.

* * * * *

Vegeta slumped atop the stairs of Korin tower. What was taking so long. His patience was quickly running out, and blindness was not something he was about to tolerate, no matter what benefits might arise. Vegeta took in a deep breath. "You must learn patience Vegeta. The longer you can wait out your opponent, the shorter the time between his defeat." He said to himself.

As the last of these words escaped his lips he was struck violently in the jaw, sending him flying down the path leading to the tower. "Anyone ever told you that it isn't polite to talk to your self in front of strangers." Came a strong but subtle voice from the steps. Vegeta rose to one knee, bowing his head down. Strange. He could feel everything around him except for a patch on the stairs. It's outline was definitely humanoid. Tervin? Could it be that he easily evaded Piccolo and followed them here? If that was true, did Tervin recognize him.

Whoever it was they were in no hurry to strike again. "Who are you?" Vegeta asked, keeping his head bowed. "What importance does that make? Ahhh I see your power level is beginning to rise. What good do you think that will do you when you can't even see where I am." Vegeta could feel his assailant quickly move behind him.

"Surprise!" Vegeta yelled. Turning his head towards the attacker and kicking him square in the gut. The man went down, cursing as his body hit the ground. Vegeta wasted no time. In a flash he was standing back on the steps. "How in the seven gods did you..."

"Why don't you come over here and find that out for yourself, Tervin?"

The man paused. "Tervin? You think I'm...Then that means...Hmmm very interesting." Vegeta's face went stern. This wasn't good. Who else could this possibly be?

"Ha ha ha ha." The man laughed. "Alas I am not Tervin. Although it will be of little importance where you are going. I will tell you my name. I am Goran. Now I have a question for you....How did you know his name? Our instruments detected your contact to be brief, and not once did he mention his name to you." Vegeta smiled.

"Let's just say that I met him long before you possibly could have." He felt Goran's eye's go wide. "You mean that your the one who..." He stopped short.

"Well I can't really take credit, but let's just say I was there." Vegeta's smile faded. He easily caught Goran off guard. Suddenly appearing behind him and knocking him in the back. Goran merely went forward a few steps before moving beside Vegeta and greeting his stomach with his own knee. Vegeta went down, seriously winded. "Sorry! no time for a break!" Goran screamed as he grabbed Vegeta at the base of the skull. Throwing him face first into the air, only to send him strait back again by balling his fists together and bringing them into contact with Vegeta's midsection.

Vegeta landed hard. All around him he could feel the dirt of the impact crater. His senses were quickly dulling, as his mind stared to haze. One thing was for certain. Whoever he was, this man was definitely more powerful than him. "No! Impossible" Vegeta thought as Goran landed beside him. "NOOOOO!" Vegeta yelled! Quickly getting to his knees he threw his fist upon Goran's gut. Goran was taken back a step and definitely surprised. Vegeta used this to his advantage. Lunging forward he swung his fist underneath Goran's jaw, knocking him backward.

"To hell with this." As soon as Goran touched the ground he jumped behind Vegeta. Swinging his leg with all his power, he kicked Vegeta strait into the tower wall. Vegeta collided hard. He screamed as he heard his own bones break.

* * * * *

Goran put his hands on his knees as he tried to catch his breath. He looked up at the Sayon. Never in his life had he ever fought a Sayon this powerful. Quickly he checked his scouter. Almost 0. Good. In a few minutes this task would be over and he could take care of the weaker ones.

Suddenly his scouter beeped. "BARET TO GORAN! DO YOU COPY?!" Came a voice. "Yes I copy." He replied as he started towards the defeated Sayon. "And I have some very interesting news."

"YES I HEARD THROUGH YOU RECEIVER. IF TERVIN IS ALIVE THEN THIS SHOULD MAKE FOR SOME MOST INTERESTING FUN. BUT IN ANY CASE LOOK ALIVE CAUSE YOUR ABOUT TO HAVE COMPANY!" Goran stopped.

"You mean...?"

"YES! THE OTHER SAYON AND THE LIZARD ARE ON THEIR WAY!"

"Hmm." He replied as he looked at the Sayon.path stood the other Sayon. Behind him stood the Namek. Goran's shocked face turned to a smile. "Sure. No problem." Goran said as he flung Vegeta's body to the right side of the road. As soon as Vegeta left his hands He disappeared.

"ARRRKKK." The Namek screamed. The Sayon turned around to find the lizard on the ground clutching his back. Just behind him stood Goran. Goran rose his arm and made ready to bring it down upon the Namek's back once more. He screamed a battle cry as he brought his fist down faster than the speed of light. Wait! Something was wrong. Where Goran had expected flesh there was nothing but air, and a little farther than that was solid rock. He opened his eye to see he had just knocked a hole in the ground. Looking around he quickly saw the two over by the first Sayon.

He blinked. Never in his life had he seen someone move so fast. "Scan mode." The scanner quickly began it's task. Amazing. The scouter only read 5,000. "Hmmm... maybe Beret's right. But there is no way his power level only goes to about 500,000." He thought to himself.

* * * * *

Goku laid Piccolo down beside Vegeta. Quickly he looked Vegeta over. Still alive...barely. Piccolo looked up at him. "Goku.. The beans."

"Oh yeah right!" Goku took them out and handed them over to Piccolo. "You guys stay right here. I'll handle him."

He stood up and turned toward the attacker. There he stood. Arms crossed, looking through what looked to be some form of scouter. "Hey. That was the same scouter that Tervin wore." Goku thought to himself. "OK I'm gone give you one chance and one chance only. Leave now and never return."

The greyish blue figure just looked at him with his huge eye's. "You've got to be joking me." The alien laughed. "Listen Sayon. There's no way your power can compete with mine. There's no honor in running so even if you are a little more powerful I won't run. So let's skip the small talk and get down to business, eh. By the way forgive me for not introducing myself to you earlier. After all I did give that courtesy to your wounded friend over there." Goku brought his fists up to midlevel, closed his eye's, and began powering up. "I am Goran. Before we duke it out I have a question for you."

"Yeah what would that be?" Goku asked.

* * * * *

"Were you with your Sayon friend when he met Tervin before tod...." Goran's Eye's lit up as his scouter started an alert beacon. Numbers started flashing on the screen. Goran started stepping backward. 1,700,000. Goran wiped the sweat from his forehead. It was still rising at an unprecedented rate. 10,000,000! Impossible.

Suddenly and most unexpectedly, the Sayon's body started to glow gold. In a massive rush of power the Sayon's hair turned gold as well. The scouter overloaded and blew up. Goran couldn't believe this. The left side of his head racked with pain but he paid it no heed. The scouters last reading was 20,000,000. "Impossible! No wonder they were able to beat Freeza. They have a Super Sayon in they're midst. An actual Super Sayon, just like the legends" Goran thought to himself

He'd herd tales, but he'd never in his life believed. In his massive struggle regain control of reality he forgot about honor.

* * * * *

Goku finally finished powering up. This was only his third or fourth time going Super Sayon. It was still very new to him. Like the entire galaxy had violently shoved it's power into him. He slowly opened his eye's. He could finally feel Goran's power. He noticed that the scouter overloaded. "So that's how they hide they're power." He thought to himself. He also noticed that Goran was nowhere near his own power.

Goran looked like he had just met his god. "Y'no it's been fun but I.....I gotta go!" before the words were spoken he was gone. Goku could still feel him. Moving faster than light, stopping just a few miles away. As Goku waited he looked up at the sky. Moments later he saw a Sayon spacesphere shoot through the sky and disappear.

"Why'd you let him go?" Came Piccolo's voice from behind him. Goku powered down. As he did his hair turned to it's normal black as did his eye's. Turning around he noticed Piccolos recovery. Piccolo turned around and looked at Vegeta. His back was turned to them both. As usual he didn't seem too grateful for his life being spared thanks to Goku.

"Well Vegeta? Did the Senzu beans do the trick?" Goku asked. Worry seemed to strain out of his voice. Vegeta held his ground and didn't say a word. After a few minutes of dead silence he finally spoke.

"I'm still BLIND!" Vegeta raised his arm and threw a disc of energy right into the forest in front of him. Tree's flew up as the disc repeatidly made it's way. The path could be seen in the form of split tree trunks, and boulders. Vegeta flew to his knees and beat the ground with his knuckles.

Goku bowed his head. "I was afraid of that. Korin said if your blindness was permanent, the Senzu beans wouldn't do any good." Vegeta raised his head.

"You mean I'm like this forever!?"

"Looks that way." Goku turned his back to them. He couldn't believe this. How could Vegeta be blinded so easily. And where did Tervin learn solar flare. Piccolo decided to speak. "Well...we have to go to the western capitol hospital to find Tein anyway. Perhaps the doctors the can do something."

"Yes perhaps?" Vegeta replied. His face was even grimmer than when they arrived. This wasn't turning out to be a good day at all. Wait a minute. Vegeta turned his head towards Piccolo. "What's Tein doing at the hospital?" Piccolo opened his mouth to speak but it was Goku who uttered a reply. "Did you feel those power levels on our way here?"

Vegeta thought for a moment." Yes.. There were... three. If I remember correctly. I only noticed them for a few minutes. Then they faded."

"Three?" Piccolo interrupted. He'd only sensed two.

"Yes three, green bean." Vegeta snarled. "One was definitely your son, right Kakarott?" Goku nodded

"Another was Kurillan. But the other..... was different somehow. Like a single black marble among a barrel of white ones." Goku turned towards the east. "Korin says there was a battle between my son and a strange power. It seems he couldn't sense him until the last moment.

"I know I didn't sense him at all" Piccolo stated. Goku turned his head to him and nodded.

"Well we got another long journey in for us so lets go." Goku stepped up to Vegeta and put his hand on his shoulder. "That won't be necessary!" Vegeta snapped. Goku quickly retreated. "I can sense your presence. I can follow alongside you without your help!" Vegeta said angrily. Goku cocked an eyebrow. "I'll have allot of questions for you that I want answers too." He said as he crossed his arms. "Wait till we get there Kakarott. Then I'll tell you everything." Vegeta's voice changed dramatically. It's icy nature was almost solemn.

Goku turned his head to Piccolo. He nodded in agreement. "OK. We'll wait. But It better be worth it." With that Goku flew up into the air, stopping 20 feet above the ground. He looked up into the night sky. As the three flew towards the eastern capitol he couldn't help but hope that his son was allergist.

Goran slowly stepped onto the bridge of the Deceus. Not a soul on board ship had spoken to him since he got back. Not surprising. It was common knowledge that his race valued honor above all else. He himself understood the dishonor he had placed upon himself. Since hatching he had been taught the discipline of honor and duty. Once he had made his way out of earth's atmosphere, and was sure that the demon Sayon wasn't following him, he started contemplating his actions. His head bowed in shame since.

"It's OK Goran. I understand." Baret spoke from his chair in the middle of the bridge. He turned the chair to face him, His face solemn but with a hint of disgust. "Compared to even you that man, that thing, was a god." Baret rose to his feet. Slowly he walked to where Goran stood and placed his hands on his shoulders. "But you do realize what this means." Goran nodded. Baret nodded in response and turn his back upon his pupil. "Computer. Terminate life functions of subject F."

Goran suddenly screamed in pain. The entire bridge crew jumped from they're seats and moved to his aid. They were stopped short by Baret's hand, motioning them to their return to post's. A few reluctantly did as instructed. The rest just held their ground, slack jawed. It was over quickly. Before the last ounce of life slipped from him Baret turned and looked into his eyes. It was then and only then that Goran would see Baret's true soul. It would be all he would think about in his new life, in the next dimension.

Chapter Nine

Baret sat on his throne on board the Deceus. His mind continued to think about recent events. He'd had the guards throw Goran's body out the airlock, and thrusted into the cold depths of space where it belonged. He could of used it for further research. To find out how he survived the Nanocyborg process. Oh well. He would not touch useless garbage like that. He'd wanted the body thrown into the letrens, but Goran was very respected among the crew, and he couldn't afford a mutiny now. Not when the plan was midstream. That is why he'd made him first officer, that is why he picked him to go to earth, and how was that trust rewarded. With complete cowardliness.

Oh well, forget him. There was a much bigger problem that must be dealt with. Just how in the hell did this.. Goku.. get so powerful? The computer estimated his power level to be around 500,000, based on a reading found on a scouter while scavenging the debre of Namek. How could the computer be that far off. "You of all people should know that computers aren't infallible." A voice in his head replied. Baret's eyes shot wide open. That voice didn't belong to him.

"Uh sir..." Goran's replacement stuttered. Baret continued to be deep in thought. Finally he looked up at the attendant. "Yes...Korvec wasn't it? Let him land." Korvec took a step back. "How.. did... did... you know?"

Baret got up from his chair and made for the lift. "I wish I could tell you." The lift door's opened, and Baret turned as he stepped on board. "I am not to be disturbed."

The attendant nodded and sat back at his post to give Landing clearence to the odd, incoming vessel. He was stopped short. The ship had already landed. Korvec would spend the next few minutes trying to attain an understanding that would never come. As far as he knew, the only way the bay doors would open is from his own terminal.

* * * * *

Baret took a deep breath before going into his quaters. This was a moment that he'd hoped wouldn't come. He bowed his head and said a prayer before he stepped through the doors.

The room was dark. The lights were on but it seem as though something had silenced them. As if some dark force was keeping the light from going no further than the bulb itself. "Come in my friend." Came a voice from over by where his desk should be. The voice sounded dead. The kind of voice that you'd expect the devil himself to make.

Baret slowly, and hesitantly, stepped into the room. As he took step by step he could hear the breathing of two men, if you could call them that. Baret came to the conclusion a long time ago that these two weren't human. Baret's thought's were caught short by something in his path. "Ahhh" Baret screamed as he fell to the floor.

The lights came alive as he looked up from where he'd fallen. Strange. He could of sworn that he only took a few steps into the room, and yet here he was in the middle. He heard a laughing behind him. It reminded him of nails on a chalkboard. He looked up. There in front of him stood the fattest creature he'd ever seen. Aside from it's massive structure it's features resembled those of a human. It's face was painted in the most grotesque black pattern he could imagine. It looked as though the ink was painted below the skin. The creature stopped laughing and grinned.

"Sorry maggot. I just couldn't resist!" The creature wailed. He bent over and picked Baret up by the collar with one finger. "Hey I got a treat for ya." He started that hideous laugh again as he brought a small Chinese food container. Baret gasped as he got a whiff of it's contains. The smell of rotting flesh oozed out of the paper box. Reluctantly Baret peered inside, only to be taken back again. Inside the container was the rotting heart of some sort of animal, covered with maggots.

Baret finally lost it as the creature brought the container up to his nose. The creature dropped him as Baret grabbed the nearest trash can and started upchucking everything he'd eaten in the last several hours. Didn't last long, he'd hardly had a bite since Tervin went missing.

"Enough!" Came a voice from Baret's desk Baret slowly brought his face out of the trash can and look in the voice's direction. His chair was turned away from them both. "Leave him be Sinder. We have much to take about. Now go to the corner and finish your meal." The creature looked down at Baret and was meet with much the same glare. The creature slowly backed into the corner. "You'll have to excuse Sinder. He has much to learn in the ways of manners."

The chair turned around and in it sat the most elegant looking man Baret had ever seen. His armor glistened and shone through every shadow. His blue face bore subtle curves and showed no wrinkles. His muscles seemed to stretch to every possible joint. If it weren't for the blue skin Baret would say the man was human. But Baret had seen some of the things this man was capable of. No human could ever be able to do the atrocities that he could.

The man stared at him for a few seconds. "But at least he gets the job done." He said scornfully. Baret bowed his head and said nothing. "Just what in the hell do you think your doing sending your men around the earth and picking fights." Baret opened his mouth to say something. The man raised his hand to stop him. Baret immediately shut his mouth. "Yes I know all about your prodigy's vendetta against the Sayon's." He stopped short for a second then continued. "But that wasn't part of our arrangement. I give you the technology, and you complete the facility as ordered. Once my army is complete you may start all the fights you wish. I don't recall anything about you augmenting one of your own men and sending him off to eradicate the sayon's."

Baret finally spoke. "I sent him to rescue my son..." He was stopped short as his body hurtled toward the wall. He didn't hit hard enough to knock him unconscious, but it was enough to give him a minor head injury. His head whirled as he tried to get his barrings. When he finally came to Sinder was in front of him. "No one interrupts Lord Obveron." His sentence was followed by his hideous laugh. He then went back to his spot in the corner. Grabbing a pair of chop-sticks he started scarfing the rest of his meal. Baret turned his head away and fought back the urge to vomit again.

Lord Obveron got to his feet and waked over to Baret. Holding out his hand he helped Baret to his feet. "I understand why you sent them. But let us be perfectly clear. You WILL not send anyone else against the Sayon's. Is that clear." Baret bowed his head and gave a reply. "Yes Lord Obveron."

"Good now we can get down to other business." Obveron stated as he went back to his seat at Baret's desk. "Are there any other problems I should be aware of?" He asked as he got comfortable. Baret stood humbly. Finally he got up the courage. "Tervin."

"What about him."

"We don't know weather he's alive or dead, sir"

"Hmmmmmm....I'm sure that he is alive he no longer bares you good will."

"Yes, sir"

"Well I guess you got a real problem." Baret cocked and eyebrow and looked at lord Obveron quizzically. "Yes he is alive. Barley. He should recover soon given his complex genealogy." Obveron gave a smile that made all his elegant features disappear. Baret bowed his head. He couldn't think of a world without Tervin. He had raised him since he was a small boy. Even though he had put Tervin through hell he had always been able to win him over, make him understand that it was always for the better.

Obveron looked toward Sinder. "Sinder." The foul creature quickly looked up from the squirming maggot he was teasing on his chop-sticks. "Yes my lord."

"Go back down to earth, and eliminate Tervin." The creature laughed. He smiled as he got up from his seat and threw the empty box over his shoulder. "With pleasure."

"Oh and one more thing." Obveron continued. "I want you to find out everything about these Sayon's. I want to know if they can be captured alive, if possible. Find out which one is the weakest."

"Yes my lord." Sinder responded. He looked toward Baret Giving his wicked smile he said. "See ya lata maggot." In a brilliant flash of blue light he was gone.

Baret raised his arms to shield his eyes. Obveron turned his attention back to Baret. "In the meantime you and I will go down to earth and oversee the projects development personally." Baret again bowed his head and agreed. Over and over his mind continued to ask him self the same question. Just what the hell have I gotten myself into?

Chi-chi sighed as she looked across the dinner table. For first few hours after Goku left she had done nothing but sob on her pillow. She didn't know why she'd gotten so angry. It was silly really. He can't help his metabolism. All that really matters is that he loved her, and she could see that every time she looked into his eyes.

Finally she got her self out of her slump and did her best to fix the window she'd broken. It wasn't easy. Replacing a window can come to be very costly. but she found no trouble in putting the window in place. All the while she was racked by ideas of how to make it up to Goku. After hours of preparing food for dinner she got the table ready and all set up. She knew just the right centerpiece. The four star dragonball she'd found outside while fixing the window. She knew it was very important to Goku. After all, he still somewhat believed that it held his grandfathers soul. When all was done she just stood at the end of the table admiring her work. Goku would definitely be surprised.

She waited for hours. She laid her head down upon her arms and looked at the clock above the doorway. 11:00 PM. Goku and Gohan should have been home hours ago

She sighed again as she got up and slowly walked over to the window. She looked up at the stars and thought about Goku. The last time he didn't some home like this...No, she shouldn't even think that.

Even as she tried to think of better things her thought's betrayed her to memories of the past. The late night she spent worrying when Goku took Gohan to meet his friends at the Came house. Only to find out the next day the her beloved husband was dead, and her only son had been kidnapped by a monster.

Chi-chi turned her head away from the window. As she looked at the table again she noticed the food was spoiling. She finally gave up and started throwing the food in the trash and starting up the dishwater. As she scrubbed the dishes she started crying again.

Kurillan yawned and stretched his arms as he sat in the hospital waiting room. He brought his arms down and looked at his watch. 11:30. What a day. He and Gohan had gotten Orion to the emergency ward just less than fifteen minutes after they'd left the carnival grounds. The doctors tried they're best to stabilize him. Twice the doctor came in to tell them that Orion was dead. Then the doc would be rushed back into the room because apparently Orion didn't seem to want to go out that easily. Finally they came and told Kurillan and Gohan that they had at least stabilized him, but he was still in critical condition, and it would be sometime before he would be allowed visitors.

Kurillan had decided to stay in case something happened. Gohan agreed. He didn't seem to thrilled about leaving things as they were either. So they both had decided to wait it out. Hoping that Orion would hold on and pull through.

Kurillan turned his head and looked at Gohan. Poor little guy had fallen asleep. He seemed to be very upset with himself for losing control of his beam like that. "You didn't have any other choice Gohan." Kurillan had told him, over and over again. "If you hadn't of deflected his beam it would be you in his place."

Kurillan continued to think things over. There was something just not right about this Orion kid. His power was so much different than anything he'd ever felt before. At first he couldn't sense him at all. Now that he had gotten a real feel of Orion's power he could feel it as if it was there all along. Gohan seemed to feel strait from the beginning.

Kurillan continued to rack his brain trying to understand Orion's complex energy when he heard a shout down the hall from the emergency room. "JUST WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE PROBLEM!!? I'M BLIND YOU IDIOT!!" The voice sounded awfully familiar. Kurillan looked at Gohan once more. Still seemed sound asleep.

Kurillan got up from his seat and followed the shout. As he peered over the edge of the doorway he couldn't believe his eyes. There by the front desk stood Vegeta. Goku was right behind him trying to calm him down. Piccolo stood by the doorway, sullen and forbidding as always.

"Goku!" Kurillan yelled as bounded into the emergency room. Goku turned his head toward Kurillan in surprise. "Kurillan!" Goku let go of Vegeta and turned toward his friend, causing Vegeta to fall forward and hit the reception desk in front of him. "Oomph..." He grunted as his body made contact. Goku looked at him and put his hand behind his head. "Opps... Sorry Vegeta." Goku meekly stated.

"Urrrr Fool!" Vegeta muttered under his breath.

Vegeta turned his head toward the Nurse behind the reception desk. She seemed nervous. Good. This gave Vegeta a small hint of pleasure. "Uhhh well....sir..I....guess we can have a doctor look at you." She uttered. Vegeta smiled.

"Good. Finally some service around here." The nurse walked around the desk and retrieved a wheelchair from around the corner. "If you just have a seat we'll get started."

"You don't really expect me to be carted around like some sort of inviolate!" Vegeta stemmed. Goku put his hand on Vegeta's shoulder. "Just let them help you, Vegeta. The sooner we get you fixed up the sooner we hear the story behind the guy who did it." Vegeta's eye just stared blankly into the void. Finally he closed his eye's and nodded. Slowly he crept to the wheelchair and sat. Will the humiliation ever end?

* * * *

As the nurse unhitched the brakes she looked toward the other gentlemen that had gathered in the hall. Two had come in with the pushy fellow and the short one she recognized as the one who came in hours ago with a fatally wounded boy. Strange child. seemed as though just as he was about to expire he made a startling recovery, only regress even further just a few seconds after.

First case she'd seen like that in almost 6 years. A man came in rushing to the desk, and collapsed. For three hours it was recover and regress, recover and regress. Till finally his body gave up and totally died. Later some special agents had come in and took him away. Took all the blood samples and anything else that might have been significant towards the poor man.

The nurse finally realized she'd been staring at the three gentlemen. "Hey Big Bertha! You think we can get this show on the road?!!" The rude man in the wheelchair snarled. She gave him a slight look of discontent, and looked back toward the other three.

* * * * *

"I'm afraid you three will have to wait out here. There's a waiting room just around the corner. " With that the nurse disappeared through the hall, wheeling Vegeta in front of her. Kurillan tugged on Goku's pants. "What's up with Vegeta."

Goku looked back toward the hallway. "We were on our way to Korin temple for Senzu beans when we detected an evil presence nearby. We went to check it out, only to be ambushed." Kurillans eyes went wide. "You mean someone strong enough to beat Vegeta?" Goku shook his head. "Actually no one threw a punch. Before we could even get a look at the guy he did something I never expected in a million years." Goku bowed his head as he finished his sentence. "He used Solar Flare." Kurillan took a step back.

"Whoa....Are you sure it was solar flare, and not an attack similar." Goku shook his head again. "No it was solar flare. He even used the words. But it was to powerful. I barely had time to shield my eyes. Apparently Vegeta didn't have enough time. After that he was gone in a blink of an eye." Kurillan bowed his head. "But you caught up with him and nailed him right?" He uttered nervously.

"No. It seems that this Tervin guy has a new type of scouter. One that hides his power completely. It was by shear luck that Piccolo kept track of him." Kurillan looked at Piccolo.

"to did you have any luck?" Piccolo nodded. "I can't confirm his death. But if he is alive. He's very pissed." Goku nodded his head in agreement.

Kurillan suddenly noticed something. "How do you guys know his name."

"He uttered it before our battle, and later it was givin at Karin tower." Piccolo replied.

"Apparently whoever Tervin works for doesn't know if he's alive or dead either. We were attacked at the tower by one of his friends." Kurillan continued to grasp the situation. Apparently it had bee a busy day for everyone. "Did you try a Senzu bean on Vegeta?" He asked. Goku nodded. "Apparently if an injury is permanent a Senzu bean won't help."

"Anyway we need to talk to Tenshinan. Korin said he would be here." Kurillan looked at him bewildered. "Sorry Goku. I haven't seen Tein since we left the Carnival." Goku face went stern. "Speaking of which. What exactly happened at the Carnival. We felt some unusual auras from over there." Kurillan face went to one of pure nervousness. "Is Gohan OK Kurillan?" Goku said, starting to get a little worried.

"Oh yeah Gohan's just fine!" Kurillan said in a hurry. "Well you see Goku.. It's happened like this......" Kurillan continued as he went through everything that happened at the carnival.

Vegeta's screams had woken Gohan up. He blinked as he looked around the waiting room. Kurillan was nowhere to be seen. He sat up in his chair and looked at a magazine on a table. As he flipped through the pages he started to think about Orion. Just what was with his power. It was as if he was there, and yet at the same time he wasn't. The weird complexity of Orion's power continued to rack his brain.

Finally he looked out into the hall. This late at night no one seemed to be in the halls, save for nurses and doctor's. Gohan jumped out of his seat and walked out to the door. Nobody was in the hall. Not knowing why he started down the left hallway till he came to a door the read "Critical Patients. Hospital Personnel Only" Usually Gohan would have been the good little boy and went back down the hall the way he came. but this time.... He felt something calling him from behind though the doors. Again not knowing why he stepped though them.

Half expecting a nurse to yell at him for being where he shouldn't he was surprised top find the hall here too was empty. Why was he doing this. He wasn't supposed to be here. If his mom found out he'd be in big trouble. Gohan hated being in trouble.

Never the less he started walking down the hall. He walked until he came to the last door on the right. Beside the door there was a clipboard. Gohan quickly jumped up and grabbed the clipboard. Finally he spotted what he was looking for. Orion's name. Yep, this was his room all right. Taking a deep breath he stepped through the door....
