Chapter Fourteen.

The Power of a God.

Tervin picked up the scouter as it's alarm faded into a dull hum. He flicked away

a few pieces of fish that had stuck to his chin. "WARNING. MASSIVE POWER LEVEL APPROACHING. SOURCE UNKNOWN. PATTERN RECOGNITION HAS NONCOHERINT PROPERTIES. SIMILAR TO FORMER ANOMALY." Tervin's mind started to race. It wasn't the Saiyon's. The Dampening field had been set for at least a half-mile radius. But the Saiyon's on this world were very pert. This he'd seen just from they're former encounter. The way they found him with no trouble at all.

He slapped the scouter against his right ear and it quickly expanded. He quickly

sent it out on a search. The scouter buzzed and hummed. Showing him small powers.

here and there, but nothing that could possibly be the massive power level the scouter had

predicted. Finally it came to rest on a single power level a hundred yards away. It was a

somewhat small form. Only 4 feet tall. Approximate weight between 300 too 400. This

sure wasn't no disgruntled bull.

Tervin watched in amazement as the matter displacement view came into focus and

showed the full creature. The creature was turned around. His back to him. The creature

seemed to be holding something. Tervin blinked as the creature threw something to his

right and turned strait for the cabin. he felt a drop of sweat come down the back of his

neck and collect in the remains of his shattered armor.

The creature slowly began to walk forward. Tervin stared at the creatures face

and was reminded of something evil he'd seen in the past. Of a story told to him on one of

his Saiyon hunting exploits. A story of a creature so evil it had no real name. His wicked

smile and laughter brought with it carnage beyond all hope. Tervin closed his eyes but

continued to see the creatures painted face. That evil Face from the very pits of his worst

nightmares. His mind said to him only one sentence. "This thing has come to kill me."

Over and over again. "This thing has come to kill me. And all I can do is stand here." his

mind screamed at him. His fists clenched, and eyes slammed shut. Sweat started dripping

off his forehead like a river. In his mind all he could think about was his up and coming

death.

He continued to remain in this state till he felt a small tap on his left fist. His

eyeshot opened and he screamed He turned around quickly, tripping his feet on top of the

other. He fell to his butt and his back hit the wall. He looked up to see the little girl. Her

face was sorrowful and full of fear.

* * * * *

Sinder had gotten all the information he needed form that pitiful human.

He'd practically screamed it. A little girl brought a wounded soldier here less than a day

before. The stupid fool had even expected to live after squealing. Sinder had enjoyed

watching the mans sudden relief the he would again see another day, and at his sudden

revelation as to how much of a fool he really was for believing it.

Sinder had slow yet gleefully made his way too the small cottage the man had

pointed out. He had almost been to the door when he heard a shrill scream. normally this

would have excited Sinder to it's fullest. But if he didn't like unintentional screams. He

looked around. Nobody. All the other pitiful maggots of this town had either fled or were

hiding.

Sinder looked again at the door. No. The scream had come from inside the house.

He put on a devilish grin and rose his fist to the doorknocker. Just before he lifted the

knocker the door swung open.

* * * * *

Tervin stared at the girl for a few seconds. As he stared at her fear filled eyes he

felt his own fear dissolve. He suddenly felt a courage he'd hadn't known for a long time.

Since his mother had died. "No harm." Was all he uttered. He nodded to her and took of

his scouter. It immediately went back into repair mode and started humming. He rustled

his hand through the chills hair and stood up. Putting the scouter back on the counter he

strode to the door like a man ready for death.

Tervin grabbed the handle and pulled the door open as fast as he could. There

stood the creature. His eye's full of surprise. Tervin wasted no time. He brought his hands

back quickly and concentrated his energy. He hastily brought his palms up to the

creatures painted face. "Domination roar!" He scrammed as wave after wave of energy

blasted from his hands.

The creature fell back into a double back flip. Amazingly, it regained it's control

and landed on his feet. Tervin ran towards the creature. He swung his fists into the

creatures face with lefts and rights. He spun around and delivered a back kick to it's lower

neck sending it flying to the right. It spun around in the air and crashed into one of the

hut's.

Tervin dropped to his knees and breathed a sigh of relief. He'd poured everything

into that onslaught. His mind levied toward going unconscious from exhaustion. He smiled

as his head pounded and throbbed. "I won.?" His mind jumbled. His sweat coming out of

every pour. His breathing started to subside. "I really won. I won. I WON!" He smiled and

bowed his head.

Just as he was starting to think about trying to get to his feet he heard vicious

laughter. The laughter grew to a roar. The sound was terrible. Tervin struggled to cover

his ears. The laughter stopped. Tervin looked to his right and stared at the hole in the hut.

Suddenly the hut blew up in a mass of Purple and black flames. The shockwave sent the fire onto the other huts setting the aflame. He stared at the creature with hopeless awe. It's hands were fisted at his sides. His eye's were open and glowing green. His facen bore an expression he'd seen on Baret's face a thousand times. This creature was pissed.

The creature wasted no time getting to Tervin. Tervin Just sat there on his knees.

looking up at the creature in disbelief. The creature didn't even have a scratch. Tervin felt

himself being lifted into the air. The creature brought his face up to his. "Jerk!" The

creature bellowed as he threw him up into the air.

Tervin made it at least fifty feet into the air till the creature bored down upon him

with both fists. Tervin sailed ten feet to the ground before being hit again and again by the

beast. It seemed like the creature was in a hundred different placed at once. Tervin finally

fell to the ground. His body ached as if every bone and muscle in his body had been torn

pieces.

His head faced the hut and he got a glimpse of Mia watching it all. The creature

landed beside him and kicked him lightly in the gut. He felt his ribs shatter as he fell three

feet to across the town courtyard. The creature stood his ground and wailed it's insidious

laughter. "I guess that's what I have to expect from a weak Saiyon half-breed." It jested.

Tervin's eye's shot open. What did he mean by that. Somewhere inside himself

Tervin found the energy to get to his feet. He himself didn't understand where the energy

had come from. Finally it came to him. It was a technique he'd mastered during his

childhood, but haven't been able to do since his mothers death. His eye's narrowed at the

creature. who had stopped it's laughing and did nothing but stare at him with a surprised

look.

It's face cleared and the wicked grin returned. "I must admit. It takes allot to

impress me. It's not an easy task. You, dear Tervin have now done it twice in the last five

minutes." Each stood their ground. A trickle of blood ran down Tervin's leg. "What did

you mean by Half-breed?" Tervin asked. Sounding more confident than he really was.

The creatures grin grew wider. "You mean you don't know. Oh that's just too

good." The creature again gave off the hideous laughter. Tervin made no notice of it. He

was still trying t piece together the revelation he'd just been given. He was.... Half Saiyon?

His eye's clenched closed and his fists tightened. Rage began emitting through his entire

body. He started to feel his power level rise. He opened his eye's. the creature was bent

over in a fit of laughter.

Tervin flew forward, stopping one foot in front of the creature. the creature looked

up at him. Tervin Brought his foot upon the creatures head with all his might. With little

effort the creature Brought his hand up and blocked the blow, grabbing Tervin's leg by the

shin. In one swift motion it brought it's giant elbow onto Tervin's kneecap pulverizing it

too bit's.

Tervin fell to the ground screaming. He looked down at his leg. The blood seemed

to be gushing out of it. He laid on his back, still looking at his shattered kneecap. He held

the wound in both hands as he again heard the laughter. A small smile strained onto his

face. The creature noticed this and looked down. For the third time the creature gave that

surprised face. Tervin's kneecap literally began to put itself back together. After a few

seconds the wound was completely heeled as if it were never there to begin with.

* * * * *

Mia Watch as the creature pounded the strange man in the air. She'd save the man

only because the creature that had attacked him reminded her of the monstrous dreams

she'd had of her fathers death. the creature her mother had described didn't look a thing

like the green monster. But a monster was a monster none the less.

Her eye's shed small tears as she lay witness to the beating the stranger was

receiving. What was it he had said? No harm? She clutched her eye's shut and cringed

back in fear. She looked again at the struggle in the courtyard. The stranger had been

kicked aside now. He was slow getting to his feet.

Mia smiled. In some weird way, this stranger reminded her of her brother. They

exchanged words. The stranger seemed to be growing madder by the minute. Finally it

was the stranger who attacked. Mia watched on as the stranger moved through the air

with incredible speed. For a split second Mia believed the he just might win. That the

stranger did come to save them from the horrible monster. Just as a smile began to crack

on her face Tervin was down, his leg gushing blood. Mia turned away for a second. She

couldn't bare to watch such a thing.

* * * *

Sinder watched on as the wound on Tervin's leg healed. Damn it! Baret must have

used that damn Nanosyrum on this lousy bastard. That will make him twice as hard to

kill. Sinder was starting to get angry. He had expected Tervin to put up a fight, but not

this much. Tervin was apparently much stronger than Baret or Obveron knew.

Sinder's face grew stern. He'd had enough of this. If he were driven to his last

trick by a low life mortal he would never hear the end of it. He knew they were watching.

They always watch. Sinder raised his right hand to the air and a bright glow of purple

energy collected. Tervin's face was illuminated by the bright glow.

"Say hello to your next dimension asshole!" Sinder screamed as he brought the

purple ball down upon the miserable half-breed. Sinder delighted his mind with wondrous

thoughts of the end of this conflict, and going home.

At the split second before the ball should have ended Tervin's life he heard a shrill

shout. "NOOOOOO!" Both the fights quickly turned they're faces to the right as a Blurs

swooped in between them and deflected the ball far across the mountains to the right.

Sinder looked down at the little distraction with his fourth look of surprise. This one far

stronger than any of the others.

That was no ordinary Energy ball. He'd spent eons designing it's matrix. It's sole

purpose was the destruction of all good things. He looked down at the little girl that had

so easily deflected it. Impossible. He could sense the good within her. It almost made him

sick. The only other way she could have done it was if she had evil..... blood. No way. It

couldn't be. He'd killed them all. No one of his bloodline had escaped. He'd counted the

friggin bodies!

Sinder took a few steps back as he tried in vein to get a handle on the situation.

"A... A.. A child of Avalon!? Here? It's impossible!" Sinder screamed. He his voice

coming out as a shrill squeak.

* * * * *

Cerifine watched in awe as her own daughter launched herself at the creature

attacking Tervin. She was the only one not surprised that Mia deflected the ball with such

ease. She herself knew the power her daughter kept inside her. She gave a hint of a smile

when she saw the beast step back in surprise. She had seen the monster before. It was the

very same monster that had killed her husband three years ago. Just after they had

conceived. And now the thing had come back to finish the job.

She couldn't take loosing Mia. Not after losing Cia. She ran to her daughter just as

the creature was about to strike. She lept behind her daughter. She landed on her knees

ready to bring her daughter to the ground with her.

It was too late. Her daughter had already gone flying into their hut. The creature

had already taken care of it's nuisance. She sat there on her knees looking at the cabin.

Tears filled her eye's. She looked up at the creature. He had a smile on his face the devil

wouldn't be proud of.

* * * * *

Tervin watched in awe as the child saved his life. As he had expected, the child did

have great power. And he knew that was no ordinary ball of energy. His bones ached as he

got to his knees. Then He saw the creature swing his hand. In a split second the boy of

Mia was replaced by that of her mother. He saw the child go flying into the cabin.

What sort of hideous creature would do this to a small child. That was a deed

below even him. He looked up at the creature and then at Cerifine. In the background he

saw the monster raise two fingers. The instant they were raised he saw Cerifine engulfed

in flames.

Orion had been reading since the early hours of morning. The books stacked high

to the ceiling as he read on. His eye's moving rapidly across the words, his hands quickly

turning the pages. His mind felt like a deep well of knowledge that could never overflow.

finally he was on the last book in Gohan's collection. The Ancient Legends of the Land.

In it he read stories about Dragons and Demon Kings. Even an old legend of seven wish

granting dragon balls. Orion felt sorry for the poor dragon.

Five minutes in the book Orion felt a sharp scream inside his head. Orion's

clasped his skull and stood up. The chair he was sitting on flew across the room slamming

itself onto the lower part of Gohan's bed. Orion turned around several times, shaking his

head violently, in a vain effort to drive the mad screaming out of his head. It didn't give

any hint of ending. It just grew louder and more pronounce.

Orion went to his knees and dug his palms into his temples. He opened his eye's as

a sudden revelation came to him. He knew who's scream it was. He had heard it before.

not as long and definite but it definitely heard it before. It was the scream.. of his mother.

Orion's face went stern as he jumped through the door. Not only had he heard

that scream before but he could key in on it's exact location. Orion zoomed through the

house. Not paying any heed to the familiar figures laying on the couch and the floor.

He launched himself out the door and into the front yard. He stopped for only a

second. He looked around in all direction's. the scream was starting to die out now.

Orion concentrated him mind on it. he stood there for several minutes. Finaly he became

sure of the direction he should go. He ran a few feet into the grass and jumped into the air

just before he would have reached the woods surounding the little house. He did severeal

front flipps intoteh air before stopping level in the direction of the scream. He seemed to

hover there for a split second before being surounded by a bright grey aura and zoomed

of through the morning sky like a bolt of lightning.

* * * * *

Gohan awoke the instant the chir hit his bed. He sat upright right and gasped. He

quickly looked around or what might hav woke him. He didn't have to wait for long. He

watched as Orion grunted in pain and felll to the floor. Gohan wondered what could be

causing him such pain. He'd had headachs before, not as severe as this, but he'd thought

them to be bad enough.

Gohan opened his mouth to say something when Orion stood bolt upright and ran

out the door. He started to shout after him but it was too late. Within seconds he heard

the door slam. Gohan ran to the window opening it and sticking his head out into the fresh

morning air.

Orion was standing in the middle of the front yard. He turned his head from side to

side as if he were looking for something. All of a sudden Orion took of towards the

woods, jumping into the air before he could reach them. Gohan took a step back as Orion

was surounded by a grey aura an flew though the sky.

Gohan shut the window as he tried to understand what was happening. Last night

Orion wasn't able to fly. Now he was doing it as though it were natural to him. Gohan

loked about his room at the books stacked way to the ceiling. Gohan picked up the one

Orion must have been reading before his sudden departure. There were only a few pages

left.

Had Orion read all the books on Gohan's shelf? Such a deed would have been

femonimal. Even Gohan haddn't read every one of them yet, givin the recent event's with

the sayon's and the battle with Freeza. Gohan wondered were Orion was going. Were

ever it was he sure was in a damn hurry to get there. Gohan ran out the door and down

the stairs.

* * * * *

Although Goku had sucsesfully quelled Chi-chi's anger she was still quite miffed.

He'd tried to explain things over but she refused to listen. She was however very

interested in the strange looking boy Goku brought with him in his arms. Her interest

didn't stay long after they had place him and gohan to bed. She had insisted the he sleep

on the couch.

Kurillan had come home with Goku and the children. He'd seen what happend

outside of the hospitol entrance. He was even more complexed about it than Goku. With

Gohan in his arm's, he'd helped Goku bring the children back to the house.

Kurillan slept on the couch while Goku rested comfortably on the floor. They

slept soundly until the felt a huge gust of wind move past them and out the door. Goku

jumped to his feet while Kurillan merely sat upright. Goku was wide awake instantly. He

ran to the door and looked outside. He got to the window just in time to see Orion take

off into the air. "Man! he was in a hurry!" Goku exclaimed.

Suddenly he heard footsteps. He turned to see Gohan comeing down the stair.

GOku pointed behind him. "Whats with him?" Goku asked. Gohan shrugged.

"I don't know dad. First he's on the floor holding his head in pain. Next

he flying off." Gohan ran out the window and looked outwrad. "DADDY!" Gohan

shouted as he stared at the distant landscape.

Goku stared out the window and was taken back a step. In the far distance dark

clouds had risin. Huge bolts of lighining fell to the ground. Kurillan joined Goku and

Gohan at the window and stared in facination. "Wow! I've never seen anything like that."

Kurillan stated. He looked up at Goku. His face was stern. He had seen something like

that before.

He started out the door never taking his eye'soff the horizon. "Let's go!" Goku

shourted as he took off in the same direction as Orion had. Gohan and Kurillan nodded to

each other and followed Goku into the air.

* * * * *

Tervin's eye's went in and out of focas as he watched Cerefine's body fal to the

ground. In his minds eye he was watching his own mother fall to the ground. As Cerifines

chared corpse hit the groung Tervin's eye's cletched. He continued to see both bodyigs

fallig tot he gorund, over and over. His mind mind grew hazy and anger started to build.

If there were ever anything good in his heart before in no longer existed.

* * * * *

Sinder wathced on in unsurpassed glee as Tervin got angrier and angrier. He was

just about to say somehting about it when he noticed something funny about the

surounding clouds. they started to build and come to a flowing circle just about Tervin.

The ground started to shake as some piced of dirt and any other loose object floated

upward into the air. Sinder started to get worried. He hadn't felt power like this since he

faced his father.

A ring of glowing energy encompased Tervin from all direction's. It seeme to just

stay in one spot for a split second bafore growing outward with the speed of a bullet.

Sinder was knocked down by the force of the shockwve. He quickly got to his feet and

wathced on.

Tervins breathing grew labored. He ket raising and lowing his head and anger

continued to build inside his head. His eye's lost they're color and his hair seemed to turn

a bright gold for a split second. They remained they're normal olor for a few more

seconds before goind back to the altered gold and green. This time they stayed that way

for just a litle longer. It continued that way for a few minutes back and forth. Each time

the new colors satyed longer and longer.

Finally Tervin stared at Sinder. Sinder stared back, slack jawed and curious. Tervin

gave out a yell. His entire body and suroundings were amassed in a great cylinder of Golden

energy. The cylinder shot strait up into the sky stricking the whirling clouds above. The

clouds disipitated and pushed back theway they came leaving the sky clear and blue.

tervin stood starit up. His eye's were now green permanintly. His hair was now gold and

poited upward.

Sinder continued to watch in fascination as Tervin slowly got to his feet. A strong

golden aura surounded him. His face was stern. His hands were clentched into fists.

Sinder smiled. "Neat Trick!" Sinderstarted to walk around the newly transformed Tervin.

"But if your really think it's going to make a difference...." He stoped right behind him.

"Your dead wrong!" Sinder leapt for the golden warrior.

Sinder swung his fists several times. Not once did he come into contact with his

target. He looked up. Tervin was still there. Faceing away from him, unmoved. Sinder

stepped back a step and started winding up his right fist. He swung it through the air with

famoninal strength and speed. Sinder screamed in agitation as tervin spun around and

caught his fist midstride.

Tervin looked down at the repulsive beast and grew angry. He smiled as he

squezed Sinders fist in the palm of his hand. Sinder screamed in pain. For the first itme in

over three hundred years Sinder screamed in pain.

Sinders rage grew as the little golded pissant continued to cruch his fist. "You

little! I will kill......" Sinder never got chance to finish his sentace. In once swift motions

Tervin brought his arm up into the air and brought it down upon the creatrues face.

Sinder went flying back throught the air. Landing in the pams Of the great statue in

the courtyard. The statue was a large one, ranging to about thirty feet high. Sinder

swooned for a second before realizing what happend. His anger hit and all time high as he

quickly got to his feet. The little miget only stood maybee fou feet in hight, but from up

there he looked taller.

"You.... you... you magot. You think you've won don't you!?" Tervin just stood

his ground and didn't say a word. "Yeah you just stay there pretty boy. I'll wipe that

smirk off your face yet."

With that Sinder was covered in a bright aura. The gorund started to shake as it

did when Tervin transformed. Only more violently. Sinders laugh radiated as his overcoat

and shit were ripped t shreds by the titanic aura that surounded him. Tervin watched in

disgust as the migets belly and chest were reviled. His chest was covered with a large

black petagram that matched the pain on his face.

Sinder's laugh grew stronger as his fat started to ripple and retract. He grew to at

least five feet. The fat was completly gone now. A perfect six pack and pair of pecks were

all that remained. His arms were perfectly muscular with small barbed wire tattoo's going

around both biceps. Sinder started laugh even harder as The aura grew stronger as well.

No sooned had the aura intnseified Sinder hair turned pearly white, as did the paint on his

face and chest. The aura simply vanished as though it were never there. Sinders terrrible

laugh fadded to a small giggle.

Tervin stood unmoved. He continued to stare into Sinders eye's for what seemed

like hours. Finally he fadded into nothing as he speed around the creature. If the beast

noticed he gave no sign of it. With this reassurment Tervin appeared behind it, ready to

strike. Before he knew what was going on the creatrure had it's hands around his throat.

Sinder gave a giggle before jumping up into the air with Tervin in his hands. He brought

Tervin down to the ground slaming him against the concrete of the square.

Tervin got to his knee's as the creature loomed over him. What the hell was this

thing. Never in his life had he encountered somthing so powerfull. Tervin shot up into the

air throughing a fist to the creature's chin. The creature easily dodged it. It swung a fist

to Tervins unprotected midsection. Tervin went back a few steps. He cluctched his ribs.

Several were definitly broken. He had no time to wonder about this as the Creature spun

around and delived a back kick to his lower jaw.

Orion Stopped hearing his mothers scream almost thirty minutes ago. For a

second he thought he'd lost the signal and gone the wrong direction. But less than a

minute later a massive storm brewed over in the same direction. Orion flew strait there

not deveating in the slightest.

He himself was amazed at the new abilities he was learning. He was fully

prepared to run all the way to the screames sorce. He didn't know he was going to fly

until he had already done it. He loved the sensation of the air flowing through his hair. He

was further surprise by the fact that he could feel the air flow along his new cloughs but

not the cold. Again he wondered were they had come from.

The storm had dulled a little and was soon replaced by a bright gold light. The

light radiated outward like a ripple in the water. Orion could feel the power there. It was

awsome. Much more than he'd felt from Gohan's father. The light dulled as well and for a

few minutes there was calm.

Suddenly Orion stopped dead in his tracks. A new light had emerged. Power shot

out of the area like that which he never seen. It far greater than the other power level. It

almost semed like it had no end. Orion's eye's went wide as he stared at the whirlwind

ahead of him. The power of god was right in front of him. Finally the strom subsided but

the power remained. Orion Slow got back his courage and started again towards the

comotion at full speed. Again he wished he knew just what was going on.

* * * * *

Gohan and Kurillan could barely keep up with Goku. They too watched as the two

storms Raged and then subsided. Throughout the enitre journy Goku's face got more and

more serious. He knew what the first storm was. He didn't like it one bit. There were only

a few other people on this planet that might become Super Saiyan. The power didn't feel

like anyone else he knew.

"Gotta go faster!" Gokus mind shouted. With that he graded both Gohan and

Kurillan by they're sides and carried them. They both gave out a shock of surprise as they

suddnly lept to a high level of speed.

* * * * *

Tervin retaliated quickly. He threw punches in every direction which he saw the

creature move. Not once did his fist come into contact witht the creatrure. He gritted his

teeth as he poured everything he had into his assault.

Sinder laughed as Tervin tried to hit him. Never had he found a mortal so

powerful. What a pity he was nowhere near the kind of power sinder himself possesed. It

would almost give him a thrill to fight a mortal as strong as he.

Tevin fell t his knee's totally exhausted. His hair turned back to it's original color,

as did his eye's. His breathing labored as the creature looked down upon him. Never had

he even imagined there was such power that this creature seemed to posses. It was like it

had no end.

"Ahhhhh... All tuckered out already?" Sinder poked fun. "Well... I guess this had to

end sometime." With that Sinder brought his right hand up. His fingernails grew to long,

sharp talon's. He smiled as he was just about to strike. He gave a scream of pleasure and

started his hand down.

Suddenly another familiar aura. This one far stronger than the last. Sinder stopped

inches from Tervin's face. He turned around ignoring Tervin's presense. Before then at

the far end of the court stood a boy. His hieght stood almost five feet tall. his long black

hair waved in the wind. The son shone down on him, casting a shadow across his face.

"OK just who the heck are you?" Sinder asked. He didn't like the turning of event's here.

Had he been so sloppy.

The child looked up at him. Sinder felt a gasp raise in his lungs as he caught site of

the childs face. The damn boy look like.... Veridian! How the hell was that possible!?

Sidner stood his ground and waited. This was time he wasn't taking any chances. Finally

the boy spoke. "I am Orion."

End of part Seven

Authers note.

I hope you have injoyed this story as much as I have enjoyed writting it. However I

must beg your forgiveness for not puting the next chapter with this one like so many

others. We are nearing the end of volume one and I must tred carfully. Yes I know about

the spelling error's I've made with Saiyon and Kurillan. The story was written more by

my whims and impulses more than it was written with my hands. In the next few months

as I finish volume one I will also be writting a revised version of the story. The begining

chapter's hve alway's bothered me and now I must corect the mistakes I've made in the

past. Weather or not the revised version will ever see the internet remains to be seen.

As always thanks for reading
