The Orion Saga

Volume II

The lost Saiyon's

Chapter four.

End of Days

Tervin stood in total shock as the Saiyon warrior continued to grow larger and larger. He had herd tales of how the mighty Saiyon's had the ability to transform at the site of the full moon. The tales told that whatever they're power was beforehand was nothing in comparison after they're transformation.

Tervin scowled as he watched the Saiyon's face transform into a grotesque doglike shape and his cloughs fly every witch way under the stretch of his growth. No matter how powerful the Saiyon might get he would fight. Nothing this horrible should be allowed to live. Tervin couldn't help but give a slight smile at the irony of that thought, given his newfound heritage. He might be part Saiyon, but there was some part of him that wasn't. After this was all over he fully intend to search out and find out what part that might be.

The Saiyon growled in horrible anticipation as he neared the climax of his transformation. He now stood over forty feet taller than Tervin now. towering over him like a mountain. His breath came out in a huge clouded mist as he finally looked down at Tervin.

Tervin stood unmoving. His face one of complete calm and reservation. He could feel the Saiyon's power. It was quite impressive. Nearly as impressive as his own.

* * * * *

Vegita looked down upon the tiny ant. His breath coming out labored from the monstrous transformation he'd just gone through. It had been so long he'd almost forgotten what it was like. He huge body, the brut strength, and, ah yes, the power. His power was now magnified ten fold.

He turned his neck around hearing it make a loud pop. "ahhh so much better." Vegita roared. His voice now deep and hollow. He looked down again on the little man who had dared to challenge him. For the second time! No matter.. this time, he would finish it.

Vegita held his gaze with a long pause. Suddenly he opened his jaw spraying a massive beam of energy where his prey stood.

As the smoke cleared Tervin as nowhere to be seen. Vegita slowly looked around trying to find him. He wasn't anywhere near gullible enough to think that he'd finished this with one simple move.

Suddenly he felt a violent pain at the base of his neck. He turned around and swatted away whatever might have stung him. But the pain didn't go away. It followed him as he turned. He reached around groping the back of his neck. There was nothing there. Whatever was doing this was inside of him. He could feel it right underneath his brain. He bellowed out as it grew stronger and stronger, sending ripples of pain throughout his body.

* * * * *

Tervin hovered high in the air. The Saiyon had just barley missed him with it's surprising attack. However Tervin was confused as to why the Saiyon was no longer attacking him. Surly he must see him. Finally he focused his eye's on the massive beast.

It was kneeling down on the ground clutching the back of his skull. Even from so high a distance, Tervin could see it was in great pain.

Tervin's first impulse was to attack while the Saiyon was down. He quickly dismissed the thought. This was something unknown. Not that the Saiyon transforming in front of his very eyes didn't give him a surprise... But he never heard of the transformation causing them this much pain.

Suddenly Tervin understood. This Saiyon was the very one that he had blinded several days earlier, and yet now he could see plain as day if not better. The fact that he was in Baret's lab strengthened the possibility of Tervin's assumption.

Just before leaving to hollow out the frozen mountain, Baret had been working on a new project... what had he said... "Something that will make you stronger than you've ever dreamed." Baret had told Tervin little else save that it involved nano technology. And that those nanites would be capable of seeking out and improving any flaws that it found within the host.

Baret must have given the Saiyon the treatment to return his eyesight. After all, it would have been stupid to create and army of blind soldiers. The Saiyon's transformation must have triggered something in the nanites programming. And now the Saiyon was feeling the results.

Tervin gave a coy smile as he looked down upon the wailing warrior. Now he would at last have his revenge.

Tervin shot down from the sky in a golden streak. Coming strait to eye level with the huge brut. He grinned at the Saiyon, glaring at him easily within biting distance. The Saiyon flinched to bite, then recoiled back clutching his stomach.

"Just as I thought." Tervin pronounced. He cocked an eyebrow as he finally noticed something. The Saiyon was getting smaller. Tervin quickly dismissed this as an over site. The nanites were obviously forcing him back to his original state. But the fake moon overhead was fighting to keep him transformed. Yes that had to be it. In any case the Saiyon would soon be normal again and could prove distracting.

Tervin gave a smug smile as he rose his finger to the Saiyon's chin. with a quick fluid motion he punched him with his other arm, sending the Saiyon flying across the mountainside.

He couldn't help but feel a rush of adrenaline as he flew into the air after it. He had never known such revelation. Finally he would avenge his mother.

As he passed over the mountain he caught sight of the Saiyon. He was spread out over the mountain in a deep slumber. His regression back to his former self was evident now. He was shrinking rapidly and Tervin could already see his face returning to it's human outline.

He quickly raised his palm, generating a bright glowing sphere of bluish energy. He gave sound of ultimate rage as he flung the shimmering globe downward. His eye's radiated with a mixture of tears fear and hate. But hate was the dominant emotion in his mind right now, coupled only by his rage. Fear was just and afterthought.

His aim was as true as it ever was. It hit dead center of the creature, exploding into a violent aura of blue energy. He was rewarded as the Saiyon opened his eye's just before it hit. Tervin fly back a few steps as the shockwave of the blast passed over him.

All around him the valley was covered in smoke and debris. It took over five minutes for the explosion to calm down. Tervin smiled as he thought about everything he'd done to get this far. Surviving in the frozen waste of some forgotten planet. Leaving with beret and searching for the Saiyon's and hunting them down. Coming to this planet for some ridiculous idea of creating a home base and creating an army for hire. And finally battling till he was surly the strongest being in the universe.

Finally the smoke cleared and Tervin could clearly se the blast area. The explosion had taken out almost and entire mile radius. The ground was smooth with random bits of large debris.

Tervin landed in the middle right where the Saiyon formerly stood. He felt the ground as though it would bring him more sense of victory and pride than he already felt. He got something else instead.

Tervin's eye's went wide as saucers the instant he felt it. A power so large it literally made him look like and ant. His head turned back and forth trying to find this mammoth power. It was no good. It seemed like it was all around him.

"guuhhhh...." Came a slurred snarl from behind him. Tervin spun around to see the Saiyon in front of him. But it wasn't the Saiyon. At least not as he remembered seeing him. He was at least the same size he was before, but now his shoulders and arms were covered in a reddish brown fur, as were his legs, but his chest was smooth and toned. His eye's seemed to glow a petulant yellow.

Tervin felt a tremble go through his spine as he stared into those eyes. It seemed as though they contained not one ounce of ration thought. His thoughts were justified as the saiyon's mouth began to foam. That was when Tervin knew..

* * * * *

Vegita didn't have a clue what was happening. All he knew was the pain. Insurmountable pain that flowed all over his entire body. He was only vaguely aware of the pounding he was taking from Tervin.

His mind had jumbles through twists and turns as he continued to feel something running throughout his veins. His mind really went through a loop when he started regressing.

He had transformed a hundred times, and not once had this occurred. He felt his muscles rip and tear themselves as they fought to keep him transformed. Then there was nothing.. He vaguely remembered a bright light, and more pain.

Then everything stopped. All emotion. All pain. All thought. Nothing mattered. He was now a being of pure instinct.

Vegita had been trained since birth to control himself in the Ozouru state. But this was far past anything he'd ever had to control. The sheer savage mind of an untrained Ozouru was nothing compared to the will power he would have needed to control himself in this state.

Needless to say, he was far from being under control.

* * * * *

"Stop!" Goku shouted as they flew across the frozen waste towards the glowing orb. He felt something. He'd felt Vegita transforming. It was hard not to feel it. But now something was different.. Something totally wrong. The power he was feeling was beyond huge. Surmounted by the power of the hideous creature he'd fought just days before.

Krillan also seemed to feel it. Gohan was completely dumbstruck. "What... what is it Goku? Could it be that thing again?" Krillan stuttered. He remembered well how easily that thing had bested Goku.. Vegita put up an excellent defense for a while, but soon even that proved useless. In the end only Orion had been able to give to that beast as good as he got. But now Orion was dead. Stuck in the other dimension. Gohan was completely dumbstruck.

Goku looked towards the Horizon at the growing aura. Something was brewing. Like a kettle ready to pop. "No... It's Vegita. Something's happened. Something terrible. He's stumbled across something and I don't think he'll have the ability to control it for very long." Goku's face was stern as he stared off into the distance. For one of the few occasion's in his life.. he was scared.

* * * * *

Tervin continued to step backward as the Saiyon just stared at him like a mental psychopath. His mind continued to search for an explanation. He found one. The nanos hadn't detected the Saiyon's ability to transform until it happened. Afterward they anylaized the genes and found something better... "They seek out and improve upon they're host whenever the chance arises. They think and they learn." Those were Baret's words just before Tervin left. He had barley paid attention, thinking that he would have plenty of time later to surmise the potential of the technology. Now he wished he had been more involved.

Tervin readied himself to defend as the Saiyon began to tense up. He barly had a chance. One second he was putting his arms up in defense. The next he was flying through several hundred feet of ice. He looked forward to see the saiyon flying down his newly made tunnel after him.

Instantly he surrounded himself in a bright golden aura and shot himself back towards the surface. As he tunneled upward he looked down expecting the Saiyon to be right behind. He grinned as he saw nothing down the dark corridor.

Abruptly he was stopped as two fur covered arms burst out of the wall, grabbing him by the throat. Tervin gagged as he gasped for air and the hands clamped down upon him. He felt as thought his head was about to pop. Quickly he dropped his hands down and sprayed the downward corridor with a bright blast of energy.

He was suddenly thrust upward, bursting through the surface and free of the Saiyon's grasp. He fell to the ice floor, clutching his neck. The muscles the throbbed and ached. He fought viciously to catch his breath, stinging his throat as it past through his windpipe.

The ground began shaking in a violent quake. Several feet from the hole Tervin burst through the Saiyon emerged in a violent rage, sending large fragments of ice and rock every which way. He jumped out of the hole and ran towards his prey.

Tervin gave a faint gasp as he shot to his feet and attempted to aviod the Saiyon's fist. He was barley able to dodge the first and second attacks, but the third hit with a devastating crunch. Tervin's face opened in a state of total shock and pain. The crack of his ribs shattering to dust in his own chest could be heard for miles.

He stood standing in front of the saiyon with a blurred gaze. As he fought the buring sensation of his own breath he felt a strong trickle of blood run from his mouth.

The saiyon's gaze was nothing but pure hate rage and insanity mixed. He seemed to even laugh as he landed another assult. this time strait at tervins legs. Tervin again found breath when he screamed in shock and pain. The saiyons legs cut through his knees like a knife through butter. He was still screaming as he landed on his rear an put up his arms to defend.

* * * * *

Goku sped towards the battlefield in a defiant rush. Around him he began to feel his cloughs start to burn as he began to speed past mock 4. He knew better than to do this outside of atmosphere, but time was of the essence. Vegita could blow any moment.

He had left Gohan and Krillan behind to catch up. He had a strong feeling he was needed as soon as possible. But he hoped dearly that they would catch up fast. Despite rebuke from chi-chi for putting they're son in danger yet again, they would need all the help they could get.

Suddenly the world was filled with a loud crunch followed by a death chilling scream. Goku felt goose bumps as he streaked across the sky towards the overwhelming howl.

As he flew over the last mountain he caught site of the creature Vegita had become. It was amazing. His body was almost covered in a reddish brown fur. Save for his face, hands and chest. All around him Goku could see sparks of massive energy leap out of nowhere. He could literally feel the energy swell and built as Vegita's rage grew in unison. If he wasn't stopped now.. Goku shuddered at the thought.

He suddenly stopped in horror as Vegita came low to the ground and did a leg sweep, severing his opponents legs.

"Vegita! Stop!" Goku yelled at the top of his lungs. Vegita either didn't hear Goku or didn't care. Goku's eyes were filled in amazement and sorrow as Vegita raised his arms and literally tore his opponent to shreds.

"Noooo! Vegita...!" Goku shot through the air landing beside the ruined body of what he guessed must have been Tervin. All around him the ground was littered in blood. Goku shot a glance towards Vegita. He was amazed at what he saw. He looked longingly into his eye's, not finding one bit of the warrior he once admired for his skill and strength.

Goku's body lit up in a bright flare of gold as he went Super Saiyon. "Your not the person I knew are you?" Vegita just glared back at him with a stare of total bloodlust. "No.... but you were weren't you.. Please Vegita. I know your in there somewhere...." He was cut off short as Vegita sprang into action. Goku swiftly dodged the attack moving high into the air. He said a silent prayer hoping that Vegita wouldn't remember how to fly in his current state.

Vegita looked up at him and screamed in rage, but he didn't fly. Goku again said a silent thank you to whatever god might be watching. Vegita howled and snorted as he stared up as his hovering target.

Goku then lifted his hand into the air. "Vegita I'm sorry.. But your about to lose control. I have..... no... choice..." Goku suddenly felt a tear run down his cheek. He had never enjoyed killing. He had absolutly never killed anything when it wasn't needed. But now it was. And worse yet, it was a friend.

Goku stared at the creature he once knew as the Prince of the Saiyon race. One of the last survivors of a dieing people. His palm was suddenly radiated by a bright spiraling disk.

"Let's just hope your not smart enough to dodge this." Goku said as he flung the destructo disk. Goku watched as everything seemed to go in slow-motion. it seemed to whiz through the air as it homed in on it's target.

Vegita made no attempt to doge it. He merely put his hand in the air, catching the disk like a Frisbee. Goku had made the disk powerful enough to slice through anything. Apparently Vegita wasn't among that category. He caught the disk barehanded, then threw it down to the ground, slicing open the icy rock. He screamed and hollered in pain as he held his wrist. The disk wasn't strong enough to kill him, but it did slice a centimeter into his palm.

Goku watched in utter astonishment. It truly was over. His attack had delayed the inevitable.. nothing more. Now Vegita's rage was boiling at twice the speed. Goku's head bowed for the first time in utter defeat.

Unexpectedly he suddenly heard a loud scream. he looked to his left in time to see Krillan throwing his own disk. He watched in dismay as Vegita learned even in his erratic state. He dodged the attack. But not the second.

Goku looked farther ahead to see Gohan. He had thrown his only a second later than Krillan. Either expecting Vegita to catch it or dodge. He didn't have time to dodge the second. And it hit his target with perfect marksmanship, slicing Vegita's tail clean off.

Goku suddenly felt a sigh of relief as He felt Vegita's power instantly begin to diminish. Vegita yelled in anger as the fur on his body began to shrink into his skin. He landed in front of his former adversary. putting his hand gently on his shoulder.

Vegita bowed forward in compete fatigue. "Kak.... Kakarott...." Vegita muttered. "Yes." Goku replied kneeling down. Vegita lifted his hand showing his palm. Goku stared at it in amazment. the woud from his disk had already healed. Suddenly goku got to his feet and backed away. Vegita looked up and stared intently into Goku's eye's "RUN!!!" Vegita screamed as his tail suddnly began to grow back. His skin instantly began to regrow it's fur.

"There's nowhere to run to!"

Elsewhere chi-chi sat at her table. her arms folded in front of her with her chin resting upon them. She had a bad feeling. She got them often when Gohan was concerened. But this time... it wasn't just about Gohan. It seemed that she herself was in the very same danger.

"Oh this is silly!" She yelled to herself as she got up from the table and moved to the living room. She was just letting herself get worried about nothing. It was just that her son had grown up so much in the past few years and she didn't want to admit it. Deep down inside she was proud of Gohan and the brave things he had done.

She strolled over towards the fireplace and picked up a picture that rested there. it was of her, Goku and gohan, just before all this crazyness started. Before her husbands horrible brother came. It seemed that since then she had been lucky to get five minutes alone with her beloved child.

No matter. He was out now, searching for the dragonballs to wish that peculiar Orion kid back to life. Surly there was little danger in that. Yet again Chi-chi felt as though her life as she knew it was in serious danger.

Suddenly the ground started to tremble. Chi-chi screamed in surprise as she dropped the picture to the floor and clung to the fireplace rail. All about her things fell off the walls and tables. She quickly made her way to the window in time to see the bright flash that was the source of her premonitions. In that same instand she and everything within a 50 lightyear radius was vaporised in an instant...

End of Chapter four

Auther's note...

Some of you may disagree with my idea of vegita not being able to control himself as ss4.

However I remind you that at this time he hasn't yet even gone Super Saiyon. Therefore the power involved in being ss4 would more than likely be far more than he could handle at the time.

I just wanted to point this out as many people have disagreed with me at first about this subject. After my explanation most of them(there were a few stuborn people those who frequint the PN fanfic message board probobly know whoI'm talking about) agreed with me.

Second I'd just like to thank all of you who have stuck with me as I write this story. It's not a well know fact that I wanted Vol I and II to be one complete volume. However popualar fanmail sudgested that I finish the first volume as soon as possible, therefore leading to me stopping the first volume after the fight with Sinder.

third. I'm asking everyone reading this to please E-mail me with your comments.. Weather good or bad. I have been wondering latly if anyone is even still reading this story. I have every intention of finishing this volume with chapter five, however if I continue on into vol III will depend soly on the amout of reponse that I get.

Again I'd just like to thank anyone who has continued reading this epic. Thank you

The Lost Saiyon's

Chapter 5

Afterlife blues

Zouran scowled as he looked up upon the yellow clouds that encumbered the sky. He hated this place. It wasn't so much the fact that he wasn't supposed to be here. It was just that he didn't like being confined. Like a rat in a cage. It brought back to many memories. Painful memories.

He and Orion had been trapped in Hell, or as the denizens liked to call it HEFL, for more than a day. Since then he and his fellow castaway had tried numerous times to escape to the far reaches of the land. As far as he could tell, hell only went so far. Its borders were clearly defined by a steep rocky cliff on all sides.

Each and every time he and Orion scaled the wall, which he didn't understand why Orion bothered to climb anyway since he could fly, The too ogres, rejects from a bad steroid commercial to be sure, caught them and dragged them back. He could have fought them off, but to what end. Eventually someone would come looking for him. Maybe even the egotistical loudmouth that had given him judgment when he got here.

He looked over at the main building where the ogres were doing a headcount of the recent arrivals. He'd tried ever means possible to get them to let he and Orion go back or at least send a message to the station upward. But they wouldn't have any of it. Something to do with a former occupant getting the best of them and getting away.

Zouran shrugged and leaned back against the park bench. His eye's rolled across the amusing landscape as he took in the full view of the park. He still couldn't believe that hell was an amusement park. What bothered him more were the unknown regions outside of it.

Orion sat cross-legged ata blood fountain that looked more like it was spitting out Kool-Aid. Zouran had to admit that Orion was by far the strangest individual he'd ever met. It was almost as if he didn't have a care in the world. He took everything one day at a time and didn't even care about the day after.

Zouran sat in bewilderment, staring at his cellmate. Suddenly Orion's eye's shot wide open and he let out a blood-chilling howl. His cheeks were quickly wet with tears as he got to his knees. Zouran stood strait up and ran to his friend. "What's wrong?"

Orion simply looked up at him. His eye's wide and full of sorry. His head suddenly bowed in silence. "Something.... Something bad has happened." Just as Orion finished Zouran's head turned as he heard shouting coming from the main office. He stepped forward a little to hear well. He couldn't make out much. Just something about a massive tragedy in the other dimension.

He looked back to find Orion gone. He looked up to see him walking away from the Main building. Zouran hurried to catch up. "Hey man. What's going on? Where are you going?" He looked directly at Orion's eyes. It was almost like looking into the eyes of a complete stranger. His face was strong and determined, and shown not a hint of the smile that had rarely left his face in the past several days' Zouran had known him.

Orion stopped after he was well on the outskirts of the park. He looked at Zouran gravely. He stared into his eyes and held out his hand. "You ready to leave?" Zouran blinked in astonishment. He sounded so sure. As though he could have left this prison at any time. Zouran took his hand and stared back intently. "Ready when you are."

Zouran let out a loud groan as he felt his shoulder pop out of place. Orion shot through the sky towards the clouds, taking Zouran along with him. He hefted Zouran up and took him by the waste. Orion Shouted out as they zeroed in on the yellow clouds. Zouran too found himself screaming. Suddenly they stopped in midair as Orion's fist his some barrier within the clouds.

Zouran looked up and saw nothing that might have prevented they're journey. He hefted his had through the mist and felt the invisible border. It was almost as if the clouds themselves hardened when he got to close. "Hold on tight to me!' Orion yelled. Zouran did as he was told just in time. Had he been a split second closer he would have fallen strait down.

Orion pressed both his hands to the imperceptible ceiling and gave a loud groan as he pushed against it. His eye's closed as his temples shook. His veins began to protrude as he thrust upward with, seemingly, everything he had. Zouran was amazed as he could have sworn Orion was slowly getting bigger. Not much, but enough that anyone holding on for dear life could have noticed. Suddenly Orion's eye's opened wide, blinding Zouran with a vast plethora of colors.

Zouran rapidly found himself clinging hard as he and Orion shot through the clouds like a slingshot. All around him he hard the sound of a massive explosion. His eye's clamped shut but still they were dazed with the myriad colors that had ensued from Orion's eye's

Slowly his eyesight returned, leaving him wish it hadn't. He looked up to See Orion complexly unconscious. To make matters worse they were falling strait back towards the yellow mist. Zouran's eye's quickly scanned the horizon. It the far distance he saw a long winding road that looked similar to a snake's body.

Over the past several days he had been learning to fly with the help of Orion. He always was a quick learner, but flight seemed to demand a control that he obviously didn't have. At least, not yet. The most he ever got out of the training was a small levitation.

He stared downward as they continued to spiral towards the yellow clouds. He clenched his eye's shut as he focused his ki and attempted to slow they're descent. At first he felt nothing but the screaming howl of the wind as he descended with Orion. Then suddenly the wind began to calm. Slowly he opened his eyes. Just udder him he saw his feet drifting through the crown of the clouds.

Zouran sighed with a gasp of relief. He quickly pulled him and Orion higher into the air, trying his best not to lose focus and damn himself and Orion all over again. Once in a week was too much already.

He looked over Orion as he floated towards the Snake road in the distance. If it weren't for the occasional breathe his chest invoked every so often, Zouran would have mistaken him for dead. What an odd boy. Who is he? Or better yet, what is he. Zouran had met hundreds of different races. But never had he come across one with suck power. He doubted breaking the barrier between heaven and hell was an easy task.

After several hours, and twice losing focus, They reached the road. Zouran had no doubt it was snake way, the road he and Orion had fallen off of at its dawn. He set Orion down on the path and laid back in exhaustion.

His brain was fried. Never had he had to keep total concentration like that. He doubted very much that he could do it again. Gradually he regained his breath and sat up. Orion seemed no closer to regaining consciousness than he had when he first opened the barrier.

Zouran looked around bewildered. He definitely thought they were on snake way. The road looked almost exactly like he remembered. He just didn't know which way it was back to the checking station.

He sluggishly got to his feet and picked Orion up. Oh well. He would run as far away from the place they exited hell as he could. Hopefully son he would end up either at the checking station, or this mysterious King kai's. Sighing heavily he began, carrying Orion in his arms.

* * * * *

Zouran slouched over the path totally exhausted. He had been carrying Orion down snake way from what seemed like weeks. Orion hadn't gain consciousness for a second the entire way. Several times Zouran had tried to fly them across the bladed path. Each time he found himself more tired than he had been when he started. Eventually he slowed they're progress to an idle trot, then to a slow walk. Now he barely felt as though he could move.

The only thing that had kept him going the past few days was something he continued to see in the distance. At first he thought is was a mirage or wishful thinking. Now almost two days later he was starting to think it was real. From the look of it, it was a house of some sorts. Perhaps it was the home of this infamous king kai. He doubted it. He had heard the king kai lived at the end of snake way. From the look of things snake way went far past the lone building he saw looming just outside his reach.

Tomorrow he would reach it. He didn't understand why. But he had this unimaginable feeling intimate danger was right on his back. Come hell or high water, he would get to this way station in the ass end of the afterlife.

Zouran turned looking strait up. The sky never turned from its brilliant day. Above he could see the giant glowing orb acting as the sun, as well as another giant planet. If Zouran squinted his eye's he could barely make out the form of another planet far out of reach. With a malignant sigh he fell asleep whispering "What a crappy way to be spending my retirement"

* * * * *

Holt had been cleaning the path of snake way for longer than he could remember. He had gotten used to the scenery never chancing a bit in the entire trip to and from King kai's. A big gaping hole of light in the middle of the field of yellow clouds was not something he ever expected to see.

* * * * *

Zouran slouched over the railing of the wooden house. He had been so used the yellow landscape of the clouds that the miscellaneous colors of the house seemed to hurt his eyes. He set Orion down on the soft circular chair on the porch and sluggishly made his way to the door. Banging lightly on the door several times, he leaned against one of the pillars for support.

Finally an answer came. Zouran found himself surprised to see a somewhat cute bluish skinned girl there. She was wearing a green one piece green shirt and skirt. Her face was perfectly smooth with her eye's doing everything they could to accent her complexion. Yes.. Very cute. Zouran grinned mischievously. He had a feeling he was going to like it here.

* * * * *

Zouran never even needed to explain they're situation. The girl helped him inside with more enthusiasm than Zouran liked. Once he got into the house he understood why. As the girl guided him through the house he didn't see one person who could even be mistaken for a man.

Finally she led him to a dimly lit room. She stood by the bed motioning him to lay Orion there. He gently laid Orion down. Zouran looked up at the girl who had thus far been so kind to them. Her eye sparkled with a radiance that he hadn't known on Grendion. He could also tell there was a very intelligent mind behind those eye's, Ad deep down they were hiding something.

* * * * *

Princess snake stood high on her toes looking through a small two-way mirror. "My my... he's only a... boy." She looked over at her servant who had informed her of the new visitors. Ever since Goku had come by there had been many passerby's. Four men passed by a few months ago, and now two young boys walk right up to her doorstep.

She looked again through the mirror at the young aqua haired kid. "What exactly am I going to do with children?" She said to her servant.

* * * * *

Zouran sat on a nearby chair. The guide had left to o find someone who might be able to help. He didn't expect her any time soon. Doctors probably weren't needed to often here in the afterlife. He stared at Orion as he waited. Again he could tell he was taller and a lot bulkier than he had when he decided to leave hell. What was he?

Finally a short slender woman, who looked much like the last, save for her long tousled hair and a pair of spectacles, walked through the door. She turned and greeted Zouran with hearty smile. "Hello. I'm Future." She held out her hand and shook Zouran's.

She walked over to Orion and looked down at him. "I'm about as close to a doctor thy have around here. What's the problem?" She asked never taking her eyes off the unconscious boy. Zouran stood beside her. "Not really sure.. We bro... got onto snake way and all of a sudden he fell unconscious." Zouran let out a sigh as he quickly saved himself from telling the truth. He doubted very much that anyone would take kindly to two convicts who just broke out of hell.

She cocked an eyebrow at Zouran then turned back to Orion. She held her hand palm down just above Orion's forehead. She closed her eyes and began to hum. Zouran found himself distracted by a mirror on the other side of the room. He could have sworn he saw something move behind it. Figures.

Future let out a sharp gasp as she pulled her hand back in pain. Zouran turned his head in time to see a bright bolt of energy circle her hand and shock it. She quickly got up and looked at Zouran. She held her hand gentle as she began to inspect it. Zouran saw a single tear run down her cheek. He gently took her hand in his and began to inspect it himself.

"What happened?" He asked. His voice was full of concern. Whatever had attacked her hand, it did its job well. Her hand was already covered in blisters and burns. "I was trying to access his mind and wake him. When suddenly I felt something... wrong. I pulled my mind away so fast that it generated the shock." She turned her head "it was stupid. A Childs mistake. But what I felt was so..."

Zouran cocked an eyebrow. He couldn't help but wonder what could possibly be wrong in Orion's mind. He was about as good inside as any person Zouran had ever met.

She looked up and him scornfully. "Just who is your friend here?"

"His name is Orion. I don't know much more than that. Except that he's my friend." She took his palm and looked at it. "Some friend." She said, as her eyes became cloudy and unfocused. Gradually her eyes began to flutter then steady and focus. She looked up at him quizzically. "What was that all about?"

"I read your future, or at least the most likely future. Sometimes all I have to do is read the lines on the palm. With you I had to go into a trance and I saw images from your future." She said dazedly.

"What did you see?"

"Halloween. A huge ship, A guy in a blue robe, another man unlike any I've ever seen before, his hair was made of red tentacles. And another man. Huge. Strong. He didn't look too bright. And he kept mouthing the word Banga.

Zouran looked at her suspiciously. "Weird. Those don't sound like anyone I know." Zouran looked over at Orion. "Don't suppose you could give me a reading on my friend here?" Future jumped back as though Zouran had slapped her.

Sure she was curious... but that feeling she got when she went rummaging around in that kids mind stayed firmly planted.

"Please. I know I'm asking a lot. But there's so much I don't know about him, and a look into his future might tell us how to wake him." Future looked at him seriously. "Listen pal. That feeling I got in his head wasn't bed of roses. There's only one word I can think of to describe it, evil. Pure and simple. Elusive and very intelligent. It was like it was just waiting for a chance to free itself. If I hadn't pulled out in time it might have freed itself into me! Chained or not there is an evil presence in that boy that I've only heard of in the oldest books of the third world. This evil has a name. Buu. But the presence I felt inside of that kid was far worse than any of the text describe Buu.

Zouran tried to keep himself from laughing. "Heh.. You obviously don't know this kid very well. Trust me. There's not a single evil bone in his body." She simply brushed him off and headed toward the door.

A slender beautiful woman blocking the doorway stopped her short. "Bout time you decided to join us. Did you get a good look trough that mirror?" The woman stepped back and gasped. "You could see...?" Zouran nodded.

"Don't worry about it. I would have done the same thing if two strange kids showed up on my doorstep. But..."

"But what?"

"But I would be most appreciative if you would have this kind young lady read my friends future.

Princess snake nodded to future and motioned towards Orion. Future began to protest but Princess snake gave her a cold stare. The matter was closed. She would read the boy's future whether she liked it or not.

Taking a big gulp she walked over and sat next to the poor unconscious boy. Slowly she took his hand in hers and stared down in the groves planted in his palm. She shook her head. "I can't get anything out of his lines. I'll have to do a trance." She almost sounded as though she wouldn't do it.

Her eyes began to flutter. They stayed like that for minutes. All the while her face grew more and more into an expression of hate, sorrow, anger, and fear. Especially fear.

Finally she screamed out loud enough to make Zouran cover his ears. She flew across the room breaking everything she could as she flung her arms around and around. Clawing at and invisible enemy. Her screams became loud and full of fear and anger.

Zouran moved quickly behind he and grappled her arms behind her. "NO!! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND! THE DEMON!!! THE DEMON WILL KILL US ALL!!!" She screamed. Her temples vibrated as her veins protruded. Finally her eyes rolled over and she became limp and frail. Zouran took her and laid her on the floor.

Princess snake simply looked on completely dumbfounded. Never had she seen anything like that. Never. "My god!"

Zouran put his fingers to her neck to check for a pulse. Just as he finally decided she was either dead, or he couldn't find it, her body burst into a massive roar of flames. In seconds Future's body was no more than a burnt mark on the floor.

Zouran looked quizzically at Orion. He hadn't changed a bit. He still lay there, completely oblivious of everything going on around him. At least, Zouran hoped he was.

Suddenly one of the women Zouran had seen in the main hall came running into the room. "Madam... there's... well... you'll have to see it for yourself." She motioned for princess snake to follow her. Snake looked down at Zouran, then back at the servant. She nodded and followed her out the door.

Zouran looked once more at the burnt mark on the floor. Touching it, he whispered. "Forgive me." He got up and checked Orion one last time before following Princess snake outs the door.

The servant led them up the stair to a little stairway that opened up to the roof. He followed them up there and almost bumped into princess snake as she came to an abrupt stop. He quickly stepped around her and found out what the big deal was.

Roughly 50 miles from the house a huge gaping hole stood out of the yellow clouds. Bright blue light shot out of it like a reversed black hole. Zouran suddenly felt scared. "Let me guess... that's not a good thing?"
