Trilla
Prologue: Very many light years away from Earth, there was a small planet
named Kerogar. Many different species lived there, including pale-skinned
humanoids. It was an industrious planet, trading with many other planets. All
in all, the people there were happy.
Then one day, not very long ago, A sorcerer by the name of Kelar met with the
king of the planet, Rogir. King Rogir agreed that in return for safety, he
would give Kelar his daughter, Princess Trillania, who was also a skilled
sorceress.
But the princess refused, and ran away. Kelar destroyed the planet, and left
that part of the galaxy.
Little did he know, however, that one person survived. And that one person
swore that someday, somehow, she would avenge her people, and kill the evil
sorcerer, if it was the last thing she did.
Chapter 1: The Landing
"Vegeta, you're going to burn the hamburgers."
"Shut up, Kakarotto, I know how to cook!"
"But, they're burning! Oh, the humanity!"
"I said, SHUT UP! I KNOW HOW TO COOK HAMBURGERS!"
"Dad, shouldn't you take them off now?"
"BE QUIET! Oh shit, they are burning. Wow, look at those flames. AAAAAHHHHH,
MY APRON'S ON FIRE! BULMA!"
Bulma ran up with the fire extinguisher, and sprayed Vegeta and the grill.
"You stupid woman, you got it in my eyes! AAAAAHHHHH, I CAN'T SEE,
AAAAAHHHHH IT'S BURNING MY EYES! I'LL NEVER SEE AGAIN, AAAAAHHHHH!"
Bulma sighed, and said to ChiChi, "That's the fifth time he's burned them.
Can you ask Krillin to do it?"
ChiChi nodded, and went over to Krillin, who was trying to comfort the
distraught and sobbing Goku. "Krillin, as soon as Bulma gets Vegeta away
from
the grill, can you start cooking the hamburgers?"
Krillin nodded. "Sure."
Goku looked up. "You mean, we have more? Why didn't you say so!" He
started
doing a little victory dance, while ChiChi shook her head.
She calmly walked into the house, picked up a frying pan, walked out, took
aim, and hit Goku right in the back of his head, knocking him unconscious.
Goten and Trunks (who had been talking) stopped talking, stood up and moved
Goku out of the way, then they both sat down and started talking again.
Gohan was playing with Pan and Bra in the sandbox, while Videl looked on; #18
and Marron were talking about shopping, while Piccolo meditated and Chaozu and
Puar watched Yamcha and Tien spar.
Basically, everything was fine, and everyone was happy, except for Vegeta,
who was screaming about "killing that noseless little dwarf", but
other than
that everything was fine.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, a small, opalescent something crashed into the
yard, about ten feet away from the sandbox, making a very small crater.
Everyone gather around it, wondering what it was. It shimmered, and an
opening appeared. A beautiful young woman stepped out, bruised and bleeding
from the head. She was tall and slender, about as tall as Trunks, and she had
shimmering black hair, that looked like it was made from silk. Her eyes were
silver, and sorrowful.
She muttered something unintelligible, and promptly fainted. Everyone stood
gawking, then Bulma took the initiative, and ordered Trunks to carry the girl
inside, then she told ChiChi to go get the first aid kit. Then she told
Krillin to get some cold water, but not too cold, so that she could wash away
the blood. After all this was done, she sat and ordered Trunks around while he
dressed the girl's wounds. When he was done, Bulma checked her pulse, and made
sure she was alive. "Well, that's really all we can do for her right . .
."
She was interrupted by a small sound everyone looked at the girl, who had
suddenly started tossing and turning, whimpering, and generally carrying on.
"
. . . now." Bulma finished. Most of them left, to go finish the barbecue,
but
Trunks stayed behind to watch and see if the girl woke up.
Chapter 2: The Explanation
She saw the burning timber, barely believing that it was the palace, her
childhood home, and that it was burning. She shook with sobs, and watched
people running away, gathering their belongings, and getting caught under
burning beams. Her feelings were being stretched to their limits, fear, anger,
despair, and others. She ran, barely seeing where she was going, not really
caring. She knew that the entire planet would be gone soon, but she didn't
have enough time to get to the spaceport. So she decided to do a spell, one so
complex, so difficult, that if cast correctly, it could take her away from the
carnage, away from the planet, through space, to a planet that she knew only
by name. The planet Earth. She did the spell, and it took most of her energy
to do it, but it succeeded. She rose silently, watching the dying people,
watching the dying city, until she could stand it no more. She turned away,
and just as she did, a gigantic explosion rocked her little space pod,
knocking her around quite a bit. She turned around, stunned, and saw that her
planet, the planet where she had grown up, lived all of her short 18 years,
was gone. In it's place, there was an asteroid field, made up of the bits and
pieces that were all that was left of her life. She sobbed her heart out then,
cried until her eyes were dry, for the lives of all her people, all the
animals, every single thing that had lived on that planet. She cried for
herself, too, but not as much. And when she was done crying, she fell asleep.
She slept through the entire journey, as she was bounced about by comets,
meteors, asteroids, and even moons. None could touch her, but all the bumping
and rolling around gave her bruises, and she also bled some, too. But through
it all, she slept. Just before she got to Earth, she woke up. and saw it. If
she hadn't been so sad, she would have been amazed by it's beauty. Then she
started reliving the nightmare of what had happened on her planet, but there
were other things, more disturbing than anything she had ever known before.
Then she screamed.
Trillania suddenly woke up, sweating, to see a room full of people, and
looked around. Was this Heaven? Or Hell? Maybe she had been captured. She
looked at the person in front of her. He was a very handsome boy with lavender
hair. There was a middle-aged woman standing behind him with the same hair.
Another boy, also handsome, with black hair was standing slightly to the first
boy's left. There was a man with green skin, and another man with three eyes.
One man that looked very angry at no one in particular, and one that had an
idiotic grin on his face. Then there was a short man with no nose, and another
short, white . . . thing, but other than that, the rest looked relatively
normal. She looked around again, then the lavender-haired boy spoke. "You
can
talk, right? Can you understand me?" She couldn't understand what he said,
but
that was no surprise. She did a simple spell, and listened to him repeat the
message, this time understanding him. She stared at him then said, "Yes and
yes. Where am I? Is this Earth?" He smiled. "Yeah, this is Earth.
Where are
you from?" "I'm from. . . " She stopped, suddenly remembering
what had
happened. She continued. "I'm from . . . Kerogar." He looked confused.
"Kerogar? Never heard of it." "She shook her head. "I'm not
surprised. It's
very far away." He smiled again. She was kind of starting to like his
smile.
"So, what's your name?" "Trilla. I mean, Princess Trillania,
daughter of Rogir
the 3rd." He looked shocked. "Princess? Then why aren't you, like,
with a
royal entourage or something." She lowered her head. "Because they're
all
dead." she whispered. A tear rolled down her cheek and fell into her lap. A
couple others soon joined it. She looked back up, tears still in her eyes.
"And it's all my fault." He looked sympathetic, and said "My name
is Trunks.
I'm sure it wasn't your fault. Most people blame themselves after a
tragedy."
She shook her head. "But it was my fault. You see . . ."
After she told them about the evil sorcerer, and what her father did, she
started to cry freely. "And it was all because of me. If I hadn't refused,
everyone would still be alive." She said between sobs. She felt a hand on
her
shoulder. She looked up, and Gohan said, "No. I know that type. He would
have
destroyed everything anyway. It just happened sooner this way. Trust me. It
wasn't your fault." She shook her head. "I'm a princess, and I have to
take
responsibility for my actions. I can't change what happened, but I can do one
thing." "What's that?" asked Trunks. She stood up, and walked to
the door. She
said over her shoulder, "I must find something with which to defeat him.
But
even if I find something with that much power, I might die in the process. I
have nothing to lose by this venture, and everything to gain." Trunks
looked
shocked again. "But. . . what if you do die? What if he kills you before
you
can kill him? What then?" Trillania turned, and with a terrible look on her
face, she said, "Then there is no hope." Without another word, she
walked out.
After a minute, Trunks ran after her. "Trillania, wait!"
Chapter 3: The Confrontation
After a while, Trunks convinced her to stay so that they could help her. She
wasn't happy, but what could she do? She would need help, whether she liked it
or not. Goten said, "What's your full name, Trillania?" She looked
blank, then
laughed. "Oh, I'm sorry. I'm really not used to people calling me that.
Most
people call me Trilla. And my full name is Trillania Kylara Mizuko Mihar."
He
looked shocked. "Re . . . Really? Hmm." She looked at him.
"Surprised? My
culture is very different than yours, so please excuse me." "Oh, yeah,
sure.
Of course." He said, smiling. Trunks said, "Well, do you know how to
fight?"
She looked at him. "Not the way you're talking about, but yes, I suppose
you
could call it fighting." Trunks said, "Wha . . . What do you mean that
you
don't fight that way?" She smiled. "Want me to fight you?" he
nodded. Everyone
walked outside. He went into a defensive position, but she just stood there.
Trunks said, "Well? aren't you going to fight?" She looked confused.
"I
thought you would make the first attack." He smirked cruelly. "Fine.
Let's
go." He disappeared, then reappeared right in front of her, just in time
for
her elbow to connect with his stomach. He flew backward and bounced off a
rock, then sped towards her. Just before he touched her, he disappeared,
reappearing right behind her. She sped around and hit him with a fire blast
right in the face. He disappeared again, appearing to her side. She once again
hit him, this time with an ice blast in the stomach. But this one wrapped
around him and stuck him to the ground. He went SSJ, then SSJ2, but he
couldn't break free. He powered down, looked up at her, and said, "I give
up.
Let me out, OK?" She said, "Fine." and suddenly the ice melted,
leaving him
dripping wet (did I mention that this was in autumn, and the temp. that day
was 50 degrees?) and shivering, then she walked away. Vegeta walked over to
his son and started kicking him. "Didn't I teach you anything, Brat? How
could
you get beaten by a female who is obviously weaker than you?!" Trilla
turned
back. "Stop." she said. Her tone was so commanding that everyone
stopped what
they were doing (including Vegeta.) "That was a demonstration. I can teach
you
how to get out of an ice grip, and if you try and help me, than I'll have to
teach you much more about magic. He'll try that trick, believe me, and I don't
want you to be helpless." Vegeta turned red. "I'm never helpless! I'm
the
Prince of Saijins!" She glared at him. "Well in case you haven't
noticed,
honey, I'm the Princess of Kerogar, and I'm telling you something that could
potentially save your life, but, obviously, you couldn't care less, and if you
get yourself in a jam, then don't come to me, got it, honey ?" She turned
away
with a swish of her hair, and walked off into the woods, leaving everyone very
stunned behind her. Even Trunks was too stunned to try and go after her for
awhile.
Chapter 4: The Conversation
Trilla sat and thought, with her head on her knees, about her dad. She heard
a noise behind her, and turned around, half expecting Vegeta coming to blow
her away. It was Trunks. He smiled at her. She really did like his smile.
"Are
you OK?" he asked. "I really don't know. I was thinking about my dad.
How
could he have said he would give me to that . . . that monster! Couldn't he
see what that man was?" Trunks put his arm around her shoulder. "From
what
I've seen, you're a smart person, and maybe he just couldn't see what you
saw." Trilla nodded. "Yeah, maybe it was just his feelings I sensed.
You see,
I'm an a very slight empath, and I can sense people's feelings, but only when
they're really strong feelings. Trunks, are you OK?" Trunks had suddenly
turned a bright shade of crimson, and was staring straight ahead. She looked
where he was looking, and saw Goten standing there, looking hurt. "So, my
best
friend is sneaking around behind my back to try and get the girl." Goten
turned and walked away, slowly. Trunks was going to go after him, but Trilla
stopped him. "Wait. I'll talk to him later, and explain everything. He'll
just
be mad at you, so don't try to go after him now." Trunks sighed.
"You're
probably right. You know, we probably could wish your planet back with the
Dragon Balls. . ." She looked up. "Are you serious?! But how is that
possible?" Trunks looked at her. She looked at him. Then she looked away
quickly. She said, "So, if I teach you how to avoid the ice grip, will you
spar
with me?" He looked at her, and said, "Only if I can go SSJ or
SSJ2." She
laughed. "OK. That's fine with me." He smiled. She was beginning to
think his
smile was kind of sexy. "Then, sure, I'll spar with you."
The next day found Trunks (SSJ) sparring with Trilla in an open field,
neither one of them gaining the upper hand, but neither losing, either. Trilla
kicked Trunks in the stomach. He doubled back and gave her an uppercut in the
jaw. They fell back, both panting. Trilla aimed a spell at Trunks, and he
disappeared. She couldn't see or sense where he was. Suddenly, he materialized
in front of her, but before she could react, he grabbed her face and put his
mouth on hers. She was so surprised that she couldn't think. He let her go and
took the opening she had left him. She slammed against a tree when his knee
connected with her stomach. She wiped the blood off of her mouth, and looked
at him as he picked her up and threw her across the clearing. She hit another
tree, and heard one of her ribs crack. She spit out some blood, and said "I
surrender, I broke a rib." He powered down, then helped her up. She winced
at
the pain, but just smiled at the look of concern on his face. "I'll be OK,
I
just need to lie . . . down . . ." she finished, just before she blacked
out.
Chapter 5: The Question
Trunks looked down at Trilla. Bulma came in with more bandages, and looked at
her son. He sighed. "I feel so guilty. I forgot and attacked her too
hard."
Bulma patted his shoulder, then left. Trilla stirred. Trunks watched her. She
woke up. "Ugh. I feel like I went through a blender." Trunks looked
away.
"Don't feel guilty, Trunks, I wasn't watchful enough." "No, it
was my fault,
Trilla, I'm the one that used that little 'tactic'. Then I just got carried
away." Goku suddenly walked in. "Here, Trilla, have a senzu
bean." he smiled
idiotically. Trilla looked puzzled. "What do they do?" she asked. He
kept
smiling, then gave her one. she ate it, and was almost instantly healed. She
sat up and moved around a bit. "Wow, I'm OK again! Strange." Goku
smiled
again. "That's what they do." Suddenly there was a crash from the
kitchen, and
Bulma's voice and some giggling came down the hall. "Why you little imp! I
don't care if you're my daughter, putting a frog in my soup ISN'T FUNNY! DON'T
YOU GRIN AT ME, YOU, YOU, YOU LITTLE SHIT! Goku put a hand behind his head,
smiled nervously, and said, "Well, I, uh, gotta go. Bye!" And he
high-tailed
it out of there. Trilla looked at Trunks, and he shrugged. "My guess is
that
he gave my sister the idea, and he wants to get away before Bulma finds out.
She can be pretty scary when she's mad." Trilla looked at the hallway, were
they could still hear Bulma yelling. Trunks got up and shut the door, then
walked back. He was avoiding her gaze. "Trunks," she laid a hand on
his arm.
He looked at her. "Trunks, I don't care, really I don't. Just because you
hit
me a little too hard, it doesn't mean anything, really." He smiled
sheepishly.
"Well, I did catch you off guard with that kiss, didn't I?" It was her
turn to
smile sheepishly. "Well, I didn't expect you to do that, I'll admit."
He
looked away again. "Trilla, would you . . . would you like to go out with
me
sometime, maybe?" He looked back at her, and she looked confused. He
laughed
nervously. "Do you know what I'm asking?" She shook her head. He
explained to
her what he meant. "Oh, OK. Sure, I would love to." He smiled.
"Great! How
about dinner?" She smiled back. "Then afterwards we can go stargazing,
like me
and my best friend used . . . to . . ." She turned away, tears in her eyes.
Trunks was sympathetic, but he decided that she'd rather be alone. He got up,
but she grabbed his shirt. "No, don't go. Please." She whispered. He
sat down,
and looked at her. Her eyes were full of tears. "I can't bear to remember
it
all. It's just too painful." He patted her hand, but she started to sob. He
gathered her to him, and tried to comfort her while she cried into his chest.
When she was done, she pulled away and said, "Thanks, Trunks. I needed
that."
He shook his head. "That's OK. I'm here for you, OK?" She nodded.
"Sure." then
he got up and left, leaving her to her thoughts.
Chapter 6: The Date
Trilla was nervously trying on all 20 dresses that Bulma had given her, but
none of them looked right. She bit her lip and contemplated a creme-colored
strapless ankle-length dress, then took it off and tried the violet
spaghetti-strap knee-length, but rejected that too. She suddenly smiled.
"Of
course! I can make a dress out of thin air!" She quickly did the spell, and
thought up one she loved. Someone knocked on the door. "Come in." said
Trilla.
Bulma walked in, and said, "Oh, that looks great on you, Trilla, but I
don't
remember owning that dress." Trilla shook her head. "You don't. I made
it up."
Bulma looked blank, then said, "Oh, so you used a spell? Interesting. Here,
I
have a makeup kit. Do you know how to use it?" Trilla shook her head again.
"We don't use it on my world, even though we know it exists." Bulma
looked at
Trilla carefully, then said, "I don't think you need anything but some
lipstick. Here." She applied it, then scrutinized Trilla again. "OK, I
think
you look perfect. I'll go get Trunks." Suddenly there was a knock, and
Bulma
told whoever it was to come in. Trunks opened the door. "Wow, Trilla, you
look
. . . perfect." She blushed. "Really?" He nodded, awestruck. She
was wearing a
full-length, torquoise-blue, crushed velvet, off-the-shoulder dress, with a
slit up one side, and princess sleeves (the ones that end in points on the
back of the hands). Bulma looked from one to the other, then said. "OK, you
two can go to the restaurant now." Trunks looked dazed, then suddenly woke
up.
"What?" Bulma repeated what she said, then Trunks and Trilla went to
the car
and drove off. Bulma shook her head. "They make such a cute couple."
At the restaurant, they were seated at a table near the window, then the
waiter took their drink orders, and gave them each a menu. Trunks looked over
his menu at Trilla, who looked extremely relaxed, while he was sweating under
his suit. Then that waiter was back with their drinks, and Trunks almost
panicked, because he hadn't even looked at his menu, but Trilla ordered an
appetizer because she wasn't ready yet. This time Trunks did look at his menu,
then when the waiter came back he ordered a small steak, while Trilla ordered
fish. When the waiter took their menus and left, He looked at Trilla. She was
smiling! He wondered what she thought was so funny. Before he could ask, she
said, "You know, you're sending off great waves of nervousness right now.
You
don't need to be, I'm not going to bite, you know." He shook his head
quickly.
"No, that's not why, I'm just . . ." "Just nervous that you're
going to do
something stupid and I'll laugh at you? Silly, I won't laugh at you. Maybe at
what you did, but not at you." "Really? You mean it?" She nodded,
smiling. "I
knew you hadn't even thought about what you would order when I started feeling
your panic, so I ordered an appetizer to give you more time." she said
softly.
He looked up. "Trilla, are you OK?" She shook her head. "I'm
fine, just
thinking." She looked up at him. "You know, if I was at home, today
would be
my Betrothel Day." He had a shocked look on his face, but she continued.
"I
would have to choose a husband from any number of princes, dukes, kings, and
other suitors from various locations across our galaxy. None of whom I had
ever met before, except maybe 2 or 3." "But, that's not fair. What if
you
picked someone cruel who beat you?" "I would have to deal with it.
Even if I
told someone, There was no way to divorce on our planet. So I'd probably have
to kill him, by poison or magic, to escape." She shook her head.
"Well,
there's no chance of having to do that anymore, it's over with, that awful
tradition." She looked away. He could tell there were tears in her eyes
again.
"That was the deal that my father made. That today I would pick that. .
.that
evil person as my husband, so that he could inherit the throne after my
father, who he would have killed early, probably." Trunks was shocked
again.
"You mean, you father wanted you to MARRY him?! You're kidding,
right?" She
shook her head again. "No. I think that my father might have been under his
power . . . That's it! That's why my father was going to do it! Oh, if only I
had known. I could've tried to break the spell, then maybe my father would be
able to defeat him, or at least evacuate." Suddenly, the food came. They
stopped talking while they ate. Trunks was watching Trilla. She was barely
eating, just picking at her food. He could tell she was thinking about her
planet. She looked up. He smiled, and she smiled back, weakly. "Trilla, if
you
want to go, it would be OK." She shook her head. "No, that's OK. I'm
fine."
She looked back at her food. "You know, I'm not really that hungry. I guess
maybe I ate to much at lunch." Trunks shook his head. "You barely ate
anything. In fact, I haven't seen you eat anything at all since we came
here."
She shrugged. "I'm just not hungry, I guess. I really just feel . . . worn
out, really." "I said we could go home . . ." "No, not
sleepy, I feel kind of
like maybe I'm just tired of living. Like . . . like I'm suddenly very
old."
Trunks was shocked. "But you're not going to kill yourself, are you?"
She
shook her head. "No, I don't want to do that. I need to get revenge
first."
She looked up. "And maybe, I could bring back my planet with those Dragon
Balls." Trunks smiled. "It's good that you don't want to die. Killing
yourself
would be very stupid." She nodded. "Yeah, that would be foolish,
wouldn't it.
I would never really try anything like that." She straightened up. "I
am the
Crowned Princess of Kerogar. I have an obligation to my people that comes
before everything else." he was amazed at her sense of duty. "But what
about
what you want? What about your feelings, your needs, your desires? What about
you?" She shook her head yet again. "I was brought up to serve my
people, and
that's what I'm going to do." Trunks shook HIS head, and said, "But
why?" She
looked away. "Because the last time I followed my feelings, it caused my
planet to be destroyed." They were finished with their food, and Trunks
said,
"So, want any dessert?" Trilla smiled. "Sure." They both
ordered, then ate
quickly. Trunks paid the bill, then they both got into the car to go home. But
about halfway there, Trunks turned off the road. Trilla looked at him.
"Trunks, this isn't the way back. Where are we going?" He smiled.
"You'll see.
I think you'll like it." After another ten minutes, he pulled over onto a
field. Trunks got out, then opened Trilla's door. She got out, then looked
around. "Where are we?" She looked up. And gasped. Trilla looked at
the sky.
"So . . . many . . . stars. On my planet, you can only see about a tenth of
the amount of this." She looked at Trunks. He was smiling. "So, you
like it?"
She nodded, speechless. He walked over to her. "You're very beautiful in
the
moonlight, Trilla." He put his hand on her cheek. She looked up at him.
"Trunks, I . . ." "Shh. Don't speak." Then he kissed her.
Back at Capsule Corps, Bulma was getting worried. "It's almost midnight.
That's Trunks' curfew. They better get back here soon." Just as she said
that,
the door opened, and Trunks and Trilla walked in. Bulma sighed. "Darn, I
thought I'd get to chew him out. Oh well." she thought. Then she smiled.
"Did
you two have a good time?" Trunks nodded. "Yeah. Great time." He
smiled.
Trilla smiled too. She said, "Trunks, I had a great time. Thanks. I'm going
to
bed now." He nodded. "Good night, Trilla." She walked off. Bulma
looked at her
son, then decided to leave his interrogation 'til tomorrow.
Chapter 7: Great Danger
(or, FINALLY WE GET A GOOD FIGHT SCENE!)
The next day, Trilla was sitting in her room, thinking. Someone knocked, and
she said, "Come in." Trunks opened the door. "Trilla, are you mad
at me?" She
turned around and looked at him. "Why would you think I was mad at
you?" He
shrugged. "Well, you haven't talked to me all day. I was a little
worried."
She laughed. "I'm fine. I just felt like being alone for a while." He
nodded.
"I feel that way sometimes, when I want to think, and everyone thinks I'm
depressed, so they try and cheer me up, even though I just want to be
alone."
She nodded. "Yeah, Bulma was in here earlier, and she tried to get me to
talk." She looked up at him. "No offense, but sometimes she can be
extremely
annoying." Trunks smiled. "None taken. She can be that way
sometimes." Trilla
nodded. "Exactly. Then Marron came to call." Trunks was shocked.
"Wha . . .
What happened?" Trilla rubbed her forehead. "Still have some headache
left.
She talks so much, and that laugh . . . Oh Kami, I will never get that sound
out of my head. It sounds like a cat being run over by a lawn mower."
Trunks
laughed. "That's one of the more graphic descriptions, I'll have to admit.
But, actually, you're totally right!" They both laughed. Bulma opened the
door. "So, Trilla, are you in a better mood than before? I hope so, because
dinner is ready." Trilla smiled. "OK. I'll be there in a minute."
After dinner, Trilla went outside. Trunks, suspecting something, followed
her. She went to the backyard, and sat down. Trunks came up behind her.
"Trilla?" She turned around. "Hi. I'm going up." He looked
confused, but she
smiled. She spoke a soft incantation, and he watched as she silently floated
upwards, eyes closed, hands clasped to her chest. He was totally shocked, then
flew up to where she was. It was very high up. She opened her eyes.
"Trunks,
come here." He came closer. She made a sweeping motion with her hand, and a
transparent sphere appeared around them. They went even higher. They were
soaring very high, there wasn't any oxygen up there. Trunks was amazed.
"Wow.
we can't fly up this high, because there's no air. I've never been this
high."
He looked at Trilla. A single, solitary tear was sliding down her cheek. She
looked at him. "Trunks, are you sure that it's possible to resurrect my
planet? Please don't lie." He smiled. "Of course. All we have to do is
ask for
the planet and the people killed by that wizard to be restored." She
smiled.
"OK. If you say so, I guess it's true." They were slowly descending,
and soon
they touched the ground. Trilla immediately dissipated the sphere. She sank
down into the grass, breathing heavily. Trunks knelt down beside her,
concerned. "Are you OK? Do you need help?" She shook her head.
"No, I'm fine.
I just expended a little too much energy." Her head came up, and she looked
around warily. "Come out right now!" she yelled. Someone laughed
menacingly.
"Princess, is it right for you to flee from your betrothed? He was so
disappointed when he had to destroy your planet. And then when he found
out
from your spell that you were still alive, well, he was overjoyed. Now he has
sent me to fetch you. He's eager for the ceremony to take place." Trilla
grimaced as she tried to stand up. Vegeta suddenly appeared behind Trunks.
"What's going on?" The voice laughed again. Then a woman wearing all
black
leather (and not much of it) appeared, seemingly right from the trees. Trilla
bit her lip, making it bleed, then pulled a small device from somewhere on
her. She threw it up in the air and gave a silent command. She willed the tiny
device to go get Goku and the others. It sped off. She looked back at her
enemy. "Why does he still want me? Why hasn't he killed me yet?" The
woman
smiled. "I can't imagine why he would want you. Maybe it's true love. Maybe
he
just can't let go. I would love to have someone that devoted to me."
Suddenly,
Goku and the rest arrived. The woman turned her gaze on them. "You."
she
pointed to Goten. He looked confused. "I choose you. I'll make you my
puppet,
if the master allows, after I've killed all the rest and returned this girl to
him. Then you'll be mine." she smiled, obviously implying something. Goten
went red and fainted. The woman shrugged. "All the better. Then I don't
have
to worry about fighting him." She scanned the faces of the other warriors.
She
shrugged again. "Well, I guess I should introduce myself. I am Kajiko
Katana.
I will kill you now." She smiled, and rushed Goku. He sidestepped, right
into
her blast. It glanced off. She was shocked. Then she regained her composure,
and rushed Vegeta. HE sidestepped, but she continued, right into Trilla. The
momentum sent them flying, but the woman landed on her feet. She grabbed
Trilla, but before she could go anywhere, Trunks grabbed her from behind,
surprising her and causing her to drop Trilla. He held her in an iron grip,
then suddenly, she was gone! Trunks looked around, then drew his sword.
"Come
out, Come out, wherever you are, Kajiko." he said. He whirled around just
as
she came from behind, giving her a glancing blow. She winced, then flew past
him and waited for his next attack. He watched as she flew towards him, then
gave her another blow. She flew past, and watched him again. He turned his
back to her, and she smiled. "Didn't your father ever tell you not to turn
your back on an enemy?" she extended her arm, but just before she hit him,
he
gave the tree in front of him a blow, slicing it to bits. She screamed, and
hit the ground, writhing in agony. Everyone but Trilla was shocked, as they
watched her disappear, melting into the ground. Trunks sheathed his sword, and
walked over to where Trilla was. She was panting even worse from the blow the
woman had had given her. Trunks knelt down beside her. "Trilla, are you
OK?"
She smiled. "How did you know she was a Dryad?" she asked. He smiled
back.
"Lucky guess. Will you be OK?" She nodded. "I'm . . . OK . .
." she gasped. He
picked her up. "You're in no condition to walk. I'm taking you
inside." She
tried to protest, but she was too weak.
The next day, Trilla sat on her bed, still terribly weak. Trunks walked in.
"Hey, Trilla, I got some senzu beans from Goku. Here." He handed her
one. She
took it and ate it. She looked up. "OK. I'm fine now." She frowned.
Trunks
looked at her. "Are you really OK, Trilla?" She nodded. "Only,
when I use
magic for more than just an offensive spell, than I get terribly drained. I
don't like that." she said. Trunks looked away. "So, when you used
that spell
last night, it drained your energy." She nodded. "Yeah. I'm worried
about
that. It means that I can't use any really powerful magic, And I'm afraid
senzu beans won't work for that." Trunks was shocked. "So . . . so you
can't
replenish you're magic that way." "Basically, no, I can't. That is not
good."
He looked at her. "Why is it not good?" She sighed.
"Because it takes weeks,
even months, to replenish magical energy." He was shocked. "You're
kidding!
That means we'll have to deal with those goons without your help! Damn!"
She
smiled. "Not if I can do something about it, you don't." He looked at
her,
confused. She smiled slyly at him.
Chapter 8: Lokoru Fruit?
Trilla paced the floor. "OK, so you all know what to do, right?" Goku,
Vegeta, and Trunks nodded. "Well, then, let's hope this works. OK, 3, 2, 1
. .
. LAUNCH!" The small object flew straight up into space from the force of
Vegeta's and Trunks' ki. Trilla concentrated, concentrated . . . "There!
She's
there!" Goku nodded, put two fingers to his forehead, and disappeared.
Trilla
fell over, caught just in time by Trunks, who gave her a senzu bean. She got
up immediately. Then they waited. 10 minutes later, Goku returned with a young
woman. The woman blinked. She looked around. Then she spotted Trilla. She
rushed over. "Trilla! What's going on? This man said he was in need of my
lokoru seeds." Trilla nodded. "In truth, I'm the one in need. My power
has
ebbed. Shizara, can you help?" Shizara nodded. "Of course. They'll
sprout in
two days. If watered, that is." Trilla smiled. "Thank you, Shizara. I
won't
forget this." The woman smiled back, then Goku took her back. Trilla
carefully
planted the seeds in the best part of the ground, right where it would get the
most sun. She leaned back. "Now, all we have to do is wait for them to
sprout." She smiled. "This will definitely help." trunks smiled
back at her.
She turned around. "Thanks for your help. I'm going for a run."
"But Trilla,
what if someone attacks you?" She sighed. "you can follow me, I just
want to
be alone, that's all." He nodded. "I'll fly." They went off.
For 2 uneventful days, Trilla waited, watering the seeds hourly. At the dawn
of the third day, she went outside to water it, and saw that it had grown. She
shouted joyfully. Trunks ran outside to see what was wrong, and was also happy
to see they had grown. Trilla picked a fruit. She doubtfully bit into it. she
ate the whole thing, and looked around. Trunks was anxious. "Well? Did it
work?" She looked at him. Suddenly she made a sweeping motion with
her hand,
and a sphere surrounded her. She floated up, then came back down. Trunks stood
ready to catch her, should she fall. She ended the spell. She smiled happily.
"It worked! I have all my powers back!" she shouted. Everyone was
relieved.
Suddenly, she hushed them. She looked around, them fired a spell into the
trees. They parted. A small boy stood there. Marron cooed. "Oh, what a
sweet
little-" Trilla put her arm in front of Marron. "That's not a little
boy. Stay
back." The little boy smirked, and started to transform. He transformed
until
he was an enormous beast. He looked down at them. "HAHAHA! I will kill you
all! You are but insects to me!" Trilla grinned "Well, I guess I'll
have to
exterminate you, won't I?" The creature laughed. Trilla hummed a small tune
beneath her breath. She suddenly burst out into a song. "Companion of
Light,
and All that Lives, Bring Forth the Mighty Weapon, Forever Forged, Eternity
Blessed, Infinity Called. The Greatest Weapon Ever Made, THE KAMI BLADE!"
She
cried. A small light ball began to form in her hand, growing bigger with every
note. When the song was complete, she had a full blown sword of energy in her
hands. She smiled. The creature lurched away. "No! Not That! Anything but
That!" Trilla raised it above her head, gave a battle cry, and sliced the
beast in half. After this, the sword disappeared, and she turned around.
Everyone was shocked (their chins were on the ground, so to speak). She
smiled. "What?" she said. She shrugged and walked into the house.
Trunks shook
his head in amazement. "Wow. I had no idea she was that powerful."
Vegeta
regained his composure and smirked. "I doubt that would even scratch a
Super
Saijin." Trunks looked at his father. "We're not trying to beat a
Super
Saijin, Dad. We're trying to beat a mad sorcerer." With that, he followed
Trilla into the house.
That night, Trilla lay on her bed, wondering. Someone knocked on the door
"Come in." she said. Trunks opened the door slightly. "Trilla,
are you OK?
You're not drained or anything, are you?" She shook her head. "No, I'm
just
wondering, if . . . " Trunks looked at her. "If what?" She looked
up at him.
"I want to be able to beat him, but I need a magical amplifier."
Trunks shook
his head. "Sorry, I don't think there is one on Earth, or else Kami would
know." She smiled sadly. "I didn't think so. I guess that means I'll
have to
go to other planets to search for one." She sighed. "Well, that means
I have
to ask Goku to-" Trunks snapped his fingers. "That's it! We could ask
Kaio-sama!" She looked at quickly. "Are you sure?" He nodded.
"Yeah, we could
ask Goku to ask him. I'm sure he'll know. Or he'll know someone who knows."
She smiled at Trunks, and said, "Well, go ask Goku, will you?" He
smiled back
at her. "OK!"
Chapter 9: The Search Begins
Trilla sat nervously, rocking back and forth, waiting for Goku to return.
Trunks took her hand. "Stop being so nervous, Trilla. We'll find
something."
She nodded, but continued to rock. Suddenly Goku appeared. Trilla was
instantly on her feet. "So?" Goku smiled. "He says he needs to
ask someone
else, there isn't one in his domain." She shook her head. "And how
long will
this take?" Goku smiled again. "Oh, a couple hours, more or
less." Trilla
nodded. "That's what I want. I can wait a couple hours." She smiled.
"Thanks,
Goku." She went inside, and Trunks followed.
A couple hours later, Trilla, Trunks, and Goten were sitting in the kitchen,
talking. Goku walked in. Trilla stood up. He put a hand behind his head and
smiled nervously. "Well, they did find something, but it's too far away for
me
to reach." Trilla sighed. "I guess I'll have to do it." Goku was
surprised.
"But, how can you-" "Don't worry about it. But I need at least
one person to
go with me." Goku smiled. "Well, if you can get within a certain
range, I'm
sure I'll be able to take you the rest of the way." Trilla nodded.
"Good."
Trunks stood up. "I'm going." Trilla looked at him in surprise, then
smiled.
"OK." Goten looked around, bewildered, then shrugged.
Chi Chi fussing around Goku, Bulma was fussing around Trunks, and Trilla
stood there. She was thinking about how the servants always used to fuss
around her whenever she had to make a trip. Her mother had died when she was
2, so all she knew was her father and the servants. A tear came to her eye,
but she quickly wiped it away. When everyone was ready, she stood in the yard,
doing the complex spell she had done before, only on a larger scale, to
accommodate 2 extra passengers. A shimmering green sphere surrounded herself,
Goku, and Trunks. They waved at their families as they ascended, while Trilla
watched out for turbulence. she had made this one padded, with chairs, to make
the trip easier. She pointed in the direction of the planet Goku had told
her
to go to, then let her arm drop. Trunks looked over at her. She started to eat
a lokoru fruit, to replenish the energy she had used for the sphere. He stood
looking at her. She noticed him looking, and said, "What?" He
blushed, and
shook his head. She shrugged, and settled in.
After 1 day of traveling, they reached the point where Goku was supposed to
take them all the way. He concentrated, and then they were on the planet.
Trilla dissipated their spaceship, and scanned. They were right near the
object, but she couldn't pinpoint it. She hovered up, and concentrated. She
used a homing spell. She started to move. Goku and Trunks flew alongside,
making sure no one else was there. She suddenly stopped and landed. Goku and
Trunks followed. They were in front of what looked like a temple. Trilla
stepped forward. There was a large door there. She tried to open it, then Goku
tried blasting it, but it wouldn't budge. Then Trilla put her palm on the
door, and said something under her breath. The door opened. Trunks walked in
first, seeing if there was any danger. Trilla walked in after him, followed by
Goku. They were all very wary of attack, but no one tried to attack them.
Trilla sensed forces around them, but nothing dared to try. The forces could
tell that fighting would be useless against such strong people. A voice (a
very annoying voice) started laughing. Trilla stiffened. A very busty (and
sparsely dressed) woman stepped out of the darkness. Trilla's eyes widened in
disbelief. The woman started laughing again. "Well, I certainly don't see
how
you killed both Kajiko and Gribbin, but that doesn't matter. The boss wants
you. So I'll kill your friends, then take you to him." Trilla shook her
head
(if this was anime, a sweatdrop would've formed). "I don't believe
this."
Trunks was staring at the woman, and Goku was ready to fight. Trilla held up
her hand. "Listen, honey, just go home, or else I'll be forced to kill
you."
The woman laughed again. "I seriously doubt that." Trilla shrugged.
"Suit
yourself. Kaji Tsutsumu!" An enormous ball of fire wrapped around the
woman.
She shrieked, and struggled, but the spell was so powerful, she couldn't do a
thing. So she died. Trilla shrugged. "At least the last two put up good
fights. Let's proceed." Goku and Trunks nodded.
They were entering a lightless room, so Trilla formed a ball of light in her
hand. It shined everywhere. In one corner, they found a skeleton. In another,
a strangely deformed creature in a bottle, and in a third, a book of spells.
Trilla took the book, "Just in case I might find something useful in
it," she
said. Trunks nodded. "Sounds good to me." They went to the last
corner, and
there was a very battered sheath with a very battered sword. Also, there was a
cloak, and a shield. Trunks wasn't impressed. "This is it! These things
aren't
worth a trip from our planet all the way here!" But Trilla knelt down and
gave
thanks. "This is it." she picked up the cloak, put it on, fastened the
sword
belt around her waist, and picked up the shield. She drew the sword from it's
sheath. It gleamed brightly. The cloak returned to it's original colors, a
silvery, shimmery metallic tint. The shield gleamed along with the sword,
except it was iridescent, shimmering with a thousand colors. Trunks' mouth
dropped open. Trilla smiled. "Trunks, you should never judge things from
appearances." Goku smiled. "Well, are you ready to go?" Trilla
nodded. There
was a new fire in her eyes, blazing infernos of life. "Let's." They
went back
out, and Trilla formed the sphere again. Goku transported them to where they
were before, and they settled in to go home.
Chapter 10: The Final Battle?
Trilla was, again, standing alone while Trunks and Goku were being fussed
over. She waited until someone noticed her. Bulma looked over. "So, did you
get what you were looking for?" Trilla nodded. She put on the cloak, pulled
out the sword, and picked up the shield. everyone stared at the awesome power
of the magical objects. Trilla smiled. "Now, all I need is my enemy."
"Really,
where's he?" Someone said. She looked around, growling. A young man
appeared.
He was taller than Trunks, with short blond hair, and gold eyes. Everyone
looked at him. Trilla growled again. "Kelar." He smiled, a very nice
one.
"Really, love, you shouldn't run away. The faster you run, the more I want
you." He was suddenly in front of her. He put a hand under her chin and
forced
her head up. He smiled at her. "And what a beautiful bride you'll be, my
sweet." He put his mouth on hers. she struggled, and broke away, stepping
back. He smirked at her. "I'll get you in the end, my dear, you just wait.
If
I can't have you, no one can." He frowned, then started muttering something
in
another language. Trilla's eyes widened, and she struck at him with the sword.
His concentration was broken. He whirled backwards, and gasped for breath.
"Wha-" She cut him off, screaming a wild battle cry. She missed him by
one
inch. He backed up. "What the hell is that!?" She glared at him, her
eyes
cold. "This is what your death will be. Prepare to die." He looked
panicked,
but before he could do anything, she rushed him and stuck the sword straight
through his chest. She pulled it out, and he fell over, blood spilling out all
over the place. She smiled in triumph. But as they watched, the figure
flickered, and changed. it was now a shorter, brown-haired boy, who looked up.
"Ha." he said, coughing up blood. "I'm not him. I was sent to see
if you had
really found the weapons. I'm not nearly as powerful as he is. Jo-Jokes on
you, Tri-" Then he died. Trilla stood looking at the corpse on the ground.
Trunks walked up. "Trilla, I . . . " She flared. An aura of
unmistakable magic
power surrounded her. She screamed. Her hair flew up, along with several small
pebbles, which promptly disintegrated. Trunks stepped back. Suddenly, all her
power was gone. She fell to the ground, unconscious. Trunks calmly picked her
up and carried her inside.
Trilla sat on her bed, her head buried in her arms. Trunks slowly opened the
door. He came in and sat beside her on the bed. She looked at him. Without a
word, she collapsed against his chest and started to sob. All he could do was
hold her, waiting until she calmed down. She looked up at him with tears in
her eyes. He looked back at her. "Trilla, it wasn't your fault. Like that
boy
said, he was much weaker than Kelar. and you beat him in seconds flat."
Trilla
nodded, and then resumed her sobbing into his chest. Bulma opened the door to
announce dinner, but when she saw what was going on, she closed the door
silently. Trilla was silent. Trunks looked down at her. She was so exhausted,
she had fallen asleep. He smiled tenderly at her, and gently laying her down
on the bed, he departed.
Chapter 11: What?!
Trilla woke up to the darkness. She reached out for Trunks, but he wasn't
there. She looked around her dark room. Her new weapons were beside the bed,
and she could tell they were just as dull as before. It was obviously past
midnight. She looked out the window, watching the moon. She watched it's
movements across the sky for hours. She watched the sun rise. When Trunks
opened the door to wake her up, he found her there, staring out the window.
She turned around and saw him there. "Hey." He tried not to look at
her. She
smiled at him. "What are you so afraid of, pray tell?" He looked at
her. "Are
you OK?" She sighed. "Better than yesterday, I'll have to admit."
He looked
relieved. "OK. Breakfast is ready." She got up. He went out while she
showered
and dressed. When she came out, they went to breakfast.
After breakfast, Trunks and Trilla were talking about how to avoid or
dissipate certain spells (with Vegeta listening closely), when the door flew
open, and Marron walked in. "Trilla!" she shrieked. Trilla winced.
"Yes,
Marron. What is it?" she said, like she was talking to a small child.
"You'll
never guess what! They're having a sale at Tracy's!" "Really?"
"Yes, and you
don't have any decent clothes, so we can go shopping!" Trilla froze.
"What?"
"Yeah, come on!" Trilla threw a look to Trunks that said "Dear
kami help me",
but he just stood there looking shocked.
After the trip (which was very long and boring, so I won't relate it here),
Trilla walked into the house with loads of shopping bags. She was greeted by
Trunks (who took most of them and took them to her room). Her gave her a
sympathetic look. "You look like you went through hell." She nodded
wearily.
"I feel awful. I just want to rest my poor aching feet." She propped
them on
the coffee table. The doorbell rang. Trunks went to answer it, and found Goten
at the door. "Hey, come on in." They walked into the living room.
"Hey Goten."
said Trilla. He looked at her, then at the shopping bags, then said,
"Marron?"
She smiled. "Yeah. Excuse me for not getting up, but the enormous blisters
on
my feet are preventing me from moving without great pain." He smiled back.
"Yeah, she can be like that. I'm sorry you had to go through it."
Trilla
shrugged. "Well, it was traumatizing, but by tomorrow, guaranteed, I'll
have
successfully blocked it out of my mind." They all laughed. Bulma walked in.
"So, Trilla, how was the shopping trip?" Trilla looked tragic. "I
may not
recover." she said. Bulma smiled. "Marron's a nice girl, but she can
be a
little bit silly sometimes." Trilla nodded vigorously in agreement. Goten
turned to Trilla. "Hey, Trilla, didn't you say you needed to teach us about
how to avoid certain spells?" She smacked her forehead. "That's right!
can you
go get them all, so I can teach them?" Goten nodded. "Be right
back." He
walked out the door and flew away.
After Trilla told them as much as she knew, she leaned back. "And that's
all
I know. Remember not to get them mixed up." Everyone nodded. Trilla stood
up.
"They're coming this way now." Everyone else stood up too. Gohan
looked at
Trilla. "Hey, how do you know they're coming?" She smiled.
"Magical energy is
very hard to miss. It makes a sound in your head. Like, his magic sounds like
waves on the ocean. I've been told mine sounds like howling wolves." Gohan
nodded. "OK. How long until they get here?" Trilla closed her eyes and
concentrated. "About 2.5 days." "So we have that long to train?
Oh great."
said Yamcha. Trilla shrugged. "Not my fault. I don't control how fast they
go.
Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'm not waiting to train. 2 days is
better than nothing." Trunks nodded. "Yeah." Everyone went off to
train for
the small amount of time they had left.
2 days passed. Trilla trained hard, alone and with Trunks. everyone trained
hard, pushing their limits, trying to get as strong as possible in the little
amount of time left. At 3:00 in the afternoon of the day, everyone assembled
in an open field. That's where Trilla said he would be. They waited for ten
minutes, then watched as a small green light appeared, steadily growing
larger, until the blonde sorcerer landed in front of the group, with a rather
large entourage of people and beasts, fairies and non-magical beings. Trilla
drew her sword. She screamed in rage, and lunged towards Kelar. He neatly
sidestepped, and she flew past. she whirled around, and attacked again, but
just before she hit him, she disappeared, then reappeared right behind him,
hitting him in the spine with the back side of her sword. He staggered, but
was still smiling. He commanded the beasts to attack. The Warriors were ready.
They fought the beasts and beat them, but there was always more coming. Trilla
turned her atention to Kelar. He smiled, and aimed a spell at her. It hit her
shield, splitting into a thousand bits, and she slashed again. she caught his
arm and gave him a long but shallow cut. He smiled again. Suddenly he was
close to her. "Trilla, darling, you know this doesn't have to happen. I
could
give you everything, if you so desire." He kissed her, but she stumbled
back.
"Kelar, I don't want everything. I want my planet back." She started
slashing
again, this time he looked scared. with every sentence, she backed him up some
more. "I want my home back. I want my friends back. I want my pets back. I
WANT MY LIFE BACK!" she screamed. She stuck the sword into his chest,
pinning
him to a tree. He kicked and screamed. She twisted the sword, and he screamed
some more, coughing up blood and spitting it all over her. She looked at him.
She whispered, "I want my father back, you son of a bitch." He looked
back at
her. "I'll take you there." He aimed a spell at her. It went straight
through
her chest. She fell backwards, not making a sound, not even surprised. Then he
died. Trunks rushed over to Trilla annd lifted her up. Her blood stained his
outfit, but he didn't care. She looked up at him. "Tears? For me?" She
reached
up and touched his cheek. "Trunks, don't cry. I'll be OK." He was
going to
give her a senzu bean, but she shook her head. "No. I'm going. I have to.
Do
me a favor though. Use the dragonballs to bring back my planet, OK?" Trunks
shook his head. "Trilla, don't leave me. I need you." She put a finger
to his
lips. "Shh. I'll be fine. Just wait. Please don't try and ressurect me.
I've
done my part. Just bring back my father. And tell him how I died. Goodbye,
Love." "No Trilla . . . TRILLA!" And all was silent.
Epilogue: After Trilla's death, Trunks and the others gathered the dragonballs
and wished the planet back to life. They told the king all that had happened.
He told his people how Trilla had given her life to avenge them. A statue was
raised in her honor. Trilla's little sister, Micca, grew up to be a fine
princess. She married happily and had two children. Goten married Marron, who
settled down a bit after marriage. Trunks never married. He moved to Kerogar
and continued his training, eventually reaching SSJ4. Every sunday he brought
flowers to Trilla's grave. He had sworn that he would never love another woman
like he had loved Trilla.
The End
