Welcome to Gardenia. This is a freeform game played via e-mail and/or internet message boards. It is set primarily on a parallel version of earth, but space, medieval fantasy, western and other types of campaigns are always an option. The game has many goals, depending on what your character decides to do. The possibilities are only limited by what your imagination is capable of. In this game, you go on quests all over the universe, and all throughout history. You make friends, collect things, gamble, fight monsters, play Pokemon, cook, decorate your house, fish, dig for fossils, catch bugs, plant, chop down trees, race cars and other vehicles, do crafts, and everything else under the sun (and over it!).
The plot depends on you. You are free to travel around and do basically anything you want. Go to any point in history you'd like to go. Go to anywhere in space you want. Travel to any city, state or country. Go on any quest you choose. The outcome of the game depends on your decision.
What you do
You can do basically anything you can imagine. When you register your character, the Game Master will basically work a story around what you've sent. You are not limited to any one type of game or story. You are allowed to do whatever you want. Go anywhere. Do anything. And to make the game even more fun, bring a friend along to play with you!
What the GM does
The Gardenia Mayor (The GM) generates the environment that you interact with. The GM also adjusts the environment to fit your character. Gardenia is a rich tapestry of non player characters and scenery, spanning thousands of light years in every direction and time frame. It is the GM's job to weave together different plot strands and to introduce players to each others' storylines.
There are no "House Rules."
The Game Master uses dice and random number generators in MS-DOS QBasic to run casino games and other mini games such as cooking, and barcode item generation. "Games of chance," therefore, really involve chance. In fact, you have better "house odds" in Gardeniarpg than you would at a real casino!
