Chapter 4- A New Sith Lord
The Emperor watched as his shuttle approached the Valorum. He looked to his new apprentice and gave him an evil grin. “My Empire is back.”
The Darth nodded and stared at the Valorum, sensing his nemesis, Vader. He squinted in anger and fidgeted with his lightsaber.
Vader walked down the large hallway and entered the docking bay. He nodded to a Stormtrooper who lowered shields to let the Lambda-class shuttle through. He was not pleased that the Emperor brought his new apprentice and reminded himself to deal with it later.
The shuttle landed and the hatch opened. First came the Emperor’s red-clad guards, followed by the Emperor and Darth Blume. Vader could sense Blume’s hatred and smiled to himself under his mask. Blume was still inexperienced and could never defeat him, but he could injure him.
As the Emperor approached, Vader fell into a trot beside him. “Welcome, my Lord. The palace on Hoth is almost complete.”
“I sense both of you are angry. Do not let that interfere until the proper time or I will discipline the both of you.”
Vader spoke up. “As you wish, my Master.”
Blume just nodded, keeping quiet as usual. Vader paid attention to which hand Blume used. He is left-handed. I’ll remember that.
Villu watched nervously as the Emperor approached. He was able to hide it with dignity, but he knew it wouldn’t last for long. He kneeled as the Emperor approached.
“You may rise, Admiral.”
Villu stood. “Welcome, Your Excellence. Your palace will be complete within the next day.”
The Emperor nodded. “Very good.” He cocked his head to the side. “I sense you are nervous. Don’t worry, now you don’t have to be… you have done nothing wrong as of yet.”
Villu’s nervousness eased, but he still felt a hint of it. “Thank you, Emperor Palpatine.”
Palpatine nodded and continued to the view screen to watch the planet. “Lord Vader.”
Vader stepped forward. “Yes, my Master?”
“I sense a Jedi nearby. A slight vibration in the Force. Investigate.”
“Yes, my Master.” Vader strode past Blume and Villu and headed for the docking bay where his TIE Interceptor was located. He contacted the bay on his way.
“Yes, sir?”
“Prepare my Fighter. And have two pilots prepared to escort me.”
“Yes, sir.”
Vader approached the door and could sense Blume was following. He smiled to himself and entered the bay, closing the door behind him. He stepped to the side and pulled out his lightsaber.
Blume followed and didn’t notice Vader until he heard the familiar hum of a lightsaber. He was quick to ignite his saber and blocked Vader’s attack, shoving him away.
“Very good. You are better than I thought. You surprise me.”
Blume grinned. “You’ll find I’m just full of surprises.”
Vader and Blume turned off their lightsabers. “Why were you following me?”
“The Emperor wanted me to help you. The Jedi we are after is no regular Jedi.”
