Todd's 66 Chevelle Bodywork

(updated 6/15/00)
This page is under construction

The bodywork is mostly done and everything has been wetsanded several times to try and get the panels as straight as possible. The body baked in the sun for about 2-2.5 weeks to get the primer to shrink as much as possible before final painting.

Todd and Andy sliced and sectioned the cowl in order to get it to match the hood and windshield lines perfectly. The dash had also rusted out from a leak in the windshield gasket. This was also cut out and replaced.

Here are the smoothed inner fenders. Todd removed most of the factory holes, wrinkles, and bumps. The battery has been relocated to the trunk to clean up the engine compartment and to help with weight transfer and balance.
As of June 15, 2000, the decklid, front fenders, steering wheel, inside door panels, underside of the hood, front valance, taillight housings, dash and windshield posts have all been painted Viper Blue. The rest of the body should be shot sometime in the next few days and then its re-assembly time!
