August 21, 1999---That sucking sound you heard Saturday was $30 million worth of Backstreet Boys tickets being snatched up. According to the group's management, BSB sold 765,000 tickets on Saturday, and in the process sold-out all 53 scheduled dates of the group's Into the Millennium Tour, which runs from Sept. 14 through Dec. 12. The $30 million figure is especially impressive considering BSB ticket prices were somewhat modest by today's standards at $38.50 and $28.50 (not including service charges).
Indeed, BSB sold out the 20,000-seat Auburn Hills Palace, outside of Detroit, for three nights. Tickets for the first show were gone in eight minutes, which beat the venue's former record, held by hometown hero Madonna, who sold out the Palace in ten minutes back in 1993.

Backstreet Boys will retain the No. 1 spot on next week's Billboard album chart, The Billboard 200, as their Millennium held off the closest competitor. Total sales for Millennium are now staggeringly close to topping the 5 million mark (4,925,463).

The nominations are in for the WB Radio Music Award:

Stars of The WB series "Felicity," Amy Jo Johnson and Scott Foley, along with radio deejay Rick Dees announced the nominees for the first ever "WB Radio Music Awards" Monday afternoon on the WB lot. The WB's first live big event special will be broadcast live from the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Oct. 28 at 8 p.m. ET. Here is a list of the nominees:

August 9, 1999---Elton John is dedicating his song "Written In The Stars" from his upcoming Disney soundtrack to "Aida" to Kevin Richardson and Howard Dorough. To whom he commended for their work ethic and they way they treat us...their fans!
August 5, 1999---Apparently there was a mistake on TRL...BSB doesn't retire August 3, they retire today!...BSB went out as NUMBA ONE! Oh yeah, Brian Littrel said that their next video, "Larger Than Life", will be like a second coming of "Everybody"...they are using the same director.

July 27, 1999---Backstreet Boys--Homecoming Live In Orlando was last week's best-selling long-form music video, while All Access was No. 4, and A Night Out With The Backstreet Boys was No. 6....Millennium has already sold 5 MILLION copies!
"Other than the first single, which is great, we haven't heard much about it," says 98 Degrees' Jeff Timmons [about the Millennium CD]. "I'm sure it will be very successful. They're very talented guys and a good group, so good luck to them as well."

July 22, 1999---Larger Than Life will be the next BSB single...they will start filming the video at the end of August, you can watch them film the video on MTV on the show "Making The Video"

July 19, 1999---Naima from The Honeyz is rapidly becoming the most sought after lady in pop. On a recent trip abroad, the lovely lady woke to hear hammering pn the door of her hotel room and someone shouting, "I love you!" When she opened the door to tell them to go away, who should she find there but Howie BSB!

BSB is releasing a Christmas album in October!

BSB will probably start singing with Mariah Carey in late July or early August.

July 15, 1999---AJ now has 12 tattoos, he got 2 more, don't know what they are, though. He also shaved his goattee off according to the Backstreet Boys Band. AJ says he needed a change.

Crazy fans: According to Seventeen magazine, two fans once hid in the storage hold of the group's tour bus; and one European admirer scaled a barbed-wire fence to get into their dressing room. Topping the list, though, was a particularly gaga young woman who gave McLean two diamond rings — they turned out to be her parents' wedding bands.

Mariah Carey and Backstreet Boys are apparently going to do a duet together according to Music Factory

As their MILLENNIUM album remains perched at #1 for the second consecutive week--selling 621,622 copies last week alone, bringing the total to 1,755,600 copies--the BACKSTREET BOYS launched their world tour June 2 in Ghent, Belgium to an absolutely thunderous response from thousands of enraptured fans.
