She bakes two out of oats and hay
One for Donkey and for Horsey
And one from different kinds of seeds
For Birdey now of coursey

A carrot pie for Bunney
And Wolfey gets minced meat
Lizzey likes hers filled with bugs
She thinks that’s really neat

Foxey goes for mice and moles
And kittey likes her rats
Skunkey likes her leafy greens
That will not make her fat

Turkey gobbles everything
And Snakey swallows pinks
Fishey nibbles all the time
At least, err well, me thinks

One day they got together
And for monkey made a pie
Banana was the choice for one
Who likes to swing so high

One look and monkey turned so green
“Banana makes me crazy!
I swell and get all itchy
Then for days I feel so lazy”

“Tell you what” she said to all
“We just can’t sit and cry
Help me peel some apples and
We’ll bake an apple pie”

The forest will ring loud and true
These friends will stay together
Among the forest and her trees
Forever and forever
