Mrs. Mary Thomas
Born in Hartford July 9, 1864, Mrs. Thomas was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Benes. She was married in 1887 at Wisconsin Rapids to Peter Christman, pioneer Wisconsin Rapids soft drink manufacturer, who died in 1909. She was married five years later at Wisconsin Rapids to Nicholas Thomas, who died in 1924. She had been a Wausau resident 25 years and was a member of St. Theresa's church alter society.
Surviving are four sons, Frank E. Christman, Milwaukee, J. M. Christman, Bogots, N. J., John Christman, Baltimore, Md., and Peter Christman, Brooklyn, N. Y.; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Cummings, Milwaukee, and Miss Carol Christman, 812 Weston Avenue; a sister, Mrs. Lena Henderson, Milwaukee; 17 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
