Chapter 7

Laurie felt something lay on her bed and kiss her cheek. She opened her eyes to see Isaac laying on his side next to her, still kissing her cheek.

"Good morning, Sunshine," Ike said when he saw Laurie's eyes open.

"Good morning sweetie," she said. She gave Ike a soft kiss on the lips. He helped her out of bed.

"We're going to a pizza place for dinner," Ike said.

"What time is it?" she asked groggily.

"6:30," he replied.

"For real? Was I really asleep for two hours?"

"Yep. Now come on, darling, he said. He got out of Laurie's bed and gently lifted her out of her bed. He carried her to the living room where Zac and Taylor were playing regular Nintendo.

"Lets go guys, time for pizza," Ike said. They turned off their game and got off the bus and went inside the Little Caesar's. They ordered 3 large pizzas, two pepperoni and one cheese. Laurie sat with her mom, dad, and brothers. It wasn't that she was mad at the Hanson's, but too much of even a good thing can be bad sometimes. Laurie ate 5 squares of pepperoni pizza before she was full. She drank two Mountain Dews. As she sat back in her chair and relaxed, she saw the Hanson family still eating. They looked happy. Mrs. Hanson had Zoe in a high chair, Zoe was nibbling on some cheese. Mackie was counting the pieces of pepperoni on his pizza, Avery and Jessie were seeing who could make the longest mozzarella straings out of a bite of pizza. Zac, who looked calm for once, was eating a slice of pizza and just taking it all in. Taylor was drinking Dr. Pepper after Dr. Pepper and making silly faces at Laurie. Ike was looking over some tour stuff with his parents. They all looked happy. Every family is happy in their own way, every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way as well.

Laurie's family finished up their pizza. Andy elbowed her.

"Yes?" Laurie asked.

"Lets dance," he said.

"Okay Andy, but I think you are going crazy," Laurie said.

"Don't worry," Andy said. He spun Laurie around. Jessie, Avery, and Mike were watching Andy and Laurie dance. The three of them got Mackie and took him over. Jessie danced with Mackie and Avery danced with Mike. Then, Zac and Taylor looked over. They headed over with sudden interest. On the way, they saw two girls that were just standing there, so they grabbed their hands and danced with them. Finally, Isaac and his parents and the Woodmans looked over. They joined their kids. Andy saw Isaac come over, and he spun her towards him.

"Thanks for the dance," he said.

"You're welcome, Andy," Laurie said. Ike caught her and they began to dance. Soon, everybody was cutting in on each other. Zac was dancing with Avery, Taylor was dancing with the girl Zac was dancing with, Laurie was dancing with Mackie, Jessie was dancing with Ike, the girl that Taylor was dancing with pulled Andy over, and Mike decided to sit out. It was so cool to see everybody dancing. People kept jamming quarters into the jukebox, and everyone kept dancing. Finally, though, people began to leave. Laurie danced with three boys she didn't know, and received those boys' e-mail addresses. The Hansons and Woodmans decided it was time to go.

They all climbed into the tour vans. Ike wanted Taylor and Zac to practice the acoustic parts of some songs, but he was instantly outvoted. So, the whole bus, Mrs. Hanson, Mrs. Woodman, the guys and Laurie all watched a movie. They viewed Billy Madison, which wasn't very appropriate for Mackie, but Mrs. Hanson figured he wouldn't understand it. After the movie was over, it was about 8:30, baths started. Mackie went first, since he was the littlest and had the earliest bedtime. After he was done, he walked out with his little towel wrapped around him.

"That bathroom is so cool! It has wooden toilet seats, and the bathtub looks like a hot tub!" he exclaimed. Everybody started to laugh.

"All right, Mackie, it's time for PJ's," Diana said. She lifted the little guy up. "Ooh, you're getting heavy."

"But not too heavy for Mommy, right?" he asked. Diana laughed.

"That's right." With that, she picked him up and carried him into the bedroom area and pulled the curtain shut. She came back out a few moments later. About a minute afterwards, Mackie came out in his light blue footie pajamas.

"Good night everybody!" he said. He went around and gave everybody hugs, but only Mrs. Hanson, Taylor, and Laurie got kisses.

"Good night, Mackie!" They told him. Mrs. Hanson put him on a lower bed. She tucked him in and turned off the light.

"Good night, Mackie," she said.

"Night, Mommy," Mackie said as he cuddled up with the soft teddy bear he received today and fell asleep immedietely.
