Catherine E. Morrison

Contrary to popular belief, I do have a life outside of following the exploits of Sean Gullette. In this alleged "life" I do things like...well...follow RADIOHEAD.

so what if my ideal sex symbol is a short, tempramental 31 year old with a wonky left eye

Being an invariate radiohead promoter, I will now suggest that you visit either the official site (note: as of a few weeks ago I would not have suggested this, thanks to the fact that the site was a maelstrom of thoughts and pictures that only a Radiohead fan would appreciate and if you were a radiohead fan, I wouldn't have to tell you to go. Currently, it is much more user-friendly...unfortunately) or, if you want ACTUAL information, check the new and improved Green Plastic Radiohead which recently merged with the impossibly good injektilo*.

This is also a good place to insert more information about Nothing to Fear. There are preliminary plans right now to make this an independent activism organization...while we want to continue using birthdays and the like to promote social awareness, we want to provide chances for people to act on other occasions as well. It's early yet for any real speculation as to the success of the organization, but Sarah Jane, Gabi and I have all committed to the long haul. Currently, we're raising money for Jubilee 2000, Amnesty International, UNICEF, Milarepa and War Child under Thom Yorke's name (as I said earlier, it was botched on MTV news). Future plans are for volunteer drives for Jonny Greenwood's birthday and food donation for Melanie, Stanley Donwood and the guys at w.a.s.t.e. at Christmas.

What other useless facts might you want to know? Well, I am an employee for Caliber Associates, a consulting firm offering evaluation services for both governmental and private organizations. That being said, I should now admit that I worked in the library. (An interesting story: when I was there over the summer [they just keep me on the payroll and I come in and work whenever I can] the IS people did all my computer account stuff but they neglected to input my name. So while every other of the 250-odd Caliber employees turned on their computers and were greeted with the appropriate Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening yournamehere, I got Good Morning *unknown*. This consequently goes a long way to explaining why I'm a socialist)

a kinder, gentler REVOLUTIONSocialism! That's a good topic! I'm one of the newly converted, so excuse me if I seem a bit dogmatic. I have just been sickened by the Democratic party's headlong slide towards the center. So I just shifted left a bit, and am a member of the James Madison University Young Democratic Socialists where my big pet peeve is NetAid (charitable idea or neocolonialism? Watch out, I can go all day on this)

Which brings me nicely to my next topic...James Madison University. I hate to have to say this, but if you are a fairly intelligent person, JMU is not for you. They are well-meaning, kind, suited to support students, and not academic at all. I wanted competition, I wanted scholarship, but thanks to being a lazy-ass I got Feelgood University. I'm working on transferring.

In the interim, I'm a collegiate debater for their actually extremely gifted debate team and a long-distance coach for my alma mater, Woodson High School...la citta dolente.

That's about it...I read a lot, I'm working on an English major, with a possible minor in economics (I know, a socialist economist doesn't seem right but it's in the difference between normative and positive thought) and enjoy writing and scaring my roommates in my spare time (currently I'm blasting "Urlicht/Primal Light," Mahler as arranged by jazz musician Uri Caine to counter all the god damned Dave Matthews I've had to put up with). I should like to add though, that I am not nearly as abrasive in person as I worry I'm coming off here. It's early in the morning and I just had REALLY bad grapefruit juice.

I don't have any good pictures of myself to put up, but I do have a really good one of my dogs:

Just imagine what kind of a person would own great dogs like that.

I was actually asked to talk more about myself by two people who emailed me after finding this section. Boy was I ever flattered! Well, I think the best way to describe myself is to list the things sitting around me at this very moment:
