My Thoughts

My first impressions of Gary were not the best, but I later came to realize that his actions and my attitudes were largely affected by the trials of doing such a long-running show as A Christmas Carol. After seeing him in other shows and working with him, I have come to greatly appreciate him as a man and actor. Of course he doesn't need my approval, his distinguished career and reputation speak volumes about his talent. I especially enjoyed his portrayal of Milt in Laughter on the 23rd Floor: he worked well in the ensemble and his antagonization of Val was hysterically funny. And I just about fell off my chair when I saw him as the Elvis Pharoah in Joseph... at the New Theatre. Even if you can't stand the show (actually, I adore it), it was worth it to see him strut his stuff. I would drive over 100 miles to see him in a show and I look forward to the next production he is in.
