Time and Place
The action takes place in Sicilia and continues sixteen years later in Bohemia

Alicia Atkins (Mopsa) made her Missouri Repertory Theatre debut this season as Belle in A Christmas Carol. She has appeared for The Shakespeare Theatre in Washington in King Lear, Hamlet, Two Gentlemen of Verona, and Don Carlos. Ms. Atkins received her BA in theatre from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and her MFA from the University of South Carolina. Top

Brad Bolman (Mamillius) appeared most recently at Missouri Repertory Theatre in A Christmas Carol, in which he has acted for four seasons. His other theatre credits include Casper at Starlight Theatre, Twelfth Night and Macbeth at Camp Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night's Dream and Ponderella at Pembroke Hill School, and numerous basement productions of his repertory company, Dragon Theatre. Mr. Bolman, a fourth grader at Pembroke Hill School, enjoys playing basketball, football and baseball, skiing, reading, and video games. Top

Taylor Clearman (Lady) is a Kansas City resident appearing for the first time at Missouri Repertory Theatre. Her acting credits include Moonchildren, Dancing at Lughnasa, Seascape, My Fair Lady, Playing For Time, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Hello Dolly, Once Upon a Mattress, and The Prisoner of Second Avenue. Jeffrey Cribbs (Lord) appeared at Missouri Repertory Theatre earlier this season as Harry Engel in Morning Star and also acted for the Rep last season in Machinal. Mr. Cribbs is a third-year graduate student in acting at UMKC, where he has performed in department of theatre productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Sea and The Winter's Tale, and as Tom Joad in The Grapes of Wrath and this spring will perform the lead role in Hamlet. Mr. Cribbs also has performed in The Merchant of Venice, The Merry Wives of Windsor, and The War of the Roses at Utah Shakespearean Festival. He was an acting intern last summer at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis where he understudied the role of Mozart in Amadeus. Top

Sandra Delgado (Perdita) is appearing for the first time at Missouri Repertory Theatre. She has appeared at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago in A Christmas Carol and Zoot Suit, both directed by Henry Godinez. Her professional appearances also include the world premiere of the musical Undone and First Breath at AboutFace Theatre, Wit at Actors Theatre of Louisville, Words on Fire and Whispering City at Steppenwolf Theatre, and The Trojan Women, Aria da Capo, Drowning, The Winged Man, and the Jeff Award-winning production of Refuge at CollaborAction Theatre Company, of which she is a member. Ms. Delgado's film credits include Night Light, The Bee, DevilGirls, and Una Vida Mejor. Top

Anne Dillon (Emilia) is a Kansas City resident making her debut at Missouri Repertory Theatre in The Winter's Tale. She has appeared locally in A Little House Christmas at Plum Creek at Coterie Theatre, and Can Can and Goodbye Howard at Actor's Craft Studio, as well as in television commercials. In San Francisco Ms. Dillon has appeared in Stop the Sun and Blood Relations at Tour de Force and The Seagull, The Country Wife, Henry VI, Romeo and Juliet, Holiday, and The Hot l Baltimore at American Conservatory Theatre. Ms. Dillon received her BA from the University of Dallas and is a graduate of the Advanced Training Program at American Conservatory Theatre. Top

Mark Espinoza (Autolycus) is making his debut with Missouri Repertory Theatre in The Winter's Tale. Mr. Espinoza has appeared on Broadway in the 25th anniversary production of Fiddler on the Roof and in The Night of the Iguana. At Alabama Shakespeare Festival, he has appeared in Relative Values, An Ideal Husband, A Midsummer Night's Dream and Godspell, and at the Goodman Theatre he has appeared in As You Like It, Mirror of the Invisible World, Cloud Tectonics, A Christmas Carol, The Skin of Our Teeth, and The Good Woman of Setzuan. Mr. Espinoza also has appeared in productions for San Diego Repertory Theatre, Los Angeles Shakespeare Festival, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, and has performed as a guest artist for the International Theatre of Frankfurt and the Frankfurt Opera House. His film and television work includes Terror in the Shadows, The Fugitive, "Beverly Hills 90210," "Caroline in the City," and "Married With Children." Top

Phil Fiorini (Archidamus) most recently appeared at Missouri Repertory Theatre in this season's production of A Christmas Carol. His other Rep credits include The Royal Hunt of the Sun and The Comedy of Errors. He has toured nationally with Greater Tuna and A Tuna Christmas and also has appeared at the Unicorn Theatre in Love! Valour! Compassion! and Quills. Top

Michael Fisher (Servant) is making his debut at Missouri Repertory Theatre. For the UMKC Department of Theatre, he has appeared in Anything to Declare?, Mad Forest, The Elephant Man, The Miser and As You Like It. He also has appeared in productions for the Unicorn Theatre, Theatre of the American West and five productions for the University of Nebraska. Top

Joe Foust (Young Shephard) is making his debut at Missouri Repertory Theatre. He has appeared at Chicago Shakespeare Rep in Henry IV, Parts I and II, Hamlet, Twelfth Night, Troilus and Cressida, Henry V, The Comedy of Errors, and Romeo and Juliet. Mr. Foust also has appeared in Chicago as Constantine in The Seagull, and as Swiss Cheese in Mother Courage and Her Children at Steppenwolf Theatre, and at Milwaukee Shakespeare Company in the title role in Macbeth. Larry Greer (Jailer) continues his work for Missouri Repertory Theatre having most recently performed as Marley in A Christmas Carol. He also has appeared at the Rep as DeSoto in The Royal Hunt of the Sun, Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, Catesby in Richard III, Achilles in Living in Exile, and the Cowboy in I'm Not Rappaport. Mr. Greer has performed at Quality Hill Playhouse, New Theatre Restaurant, Unicorn Theatre, and American Heartland Theatre. His film credits include Ride With the Devil and Truman. Top

Brent Harris (Leontes) is a veteran of many Shakespeare productions, having played Oberon and Theseus in A Midsummer Night's Dream at Seattle Repertory Theatre, the title role in Macbeth at Syracuse Stage, Iago in Othello at Virginia Stage Company, and Richard III at the Pearl Theatre off-Broadway, and also acted in Julius Caesar, Twelfth Night and Much Ado About Nothing at Nebraska Shakespeare Festival. In other repertory, he has played Elyot in Private Lives at Theatre Virginia and Randall Utterword in Heartbreak House at Actors Theatre of Louisville, and has performed at Heritage Repertory Theatre and the Hangar Theatre. Mr. Harris has taught acting at the University of Virginia and Cornell University and has appeared in the television programs "The Guiding Light" and "Out of the Box." He made his Missouri Rep debut earlier this season as George Kittredge in The Philadelphia Story. Top

Lorenzo Hughes (Dion) is making his Missouri Repertory Theatre debut in The Winter's Tale. He has appeared in the Kansas City area in Live at the Gem at Gem Theatre, Harlem Knights at Play Theatre Company, and African American Initiative Tour, Twelve Angry Men, Consequences, and To Kill A Mockingbird for M.C. Players. His film and television credits include the independent films White Shoe, Left; The Rock That Made Us, Easy and "Early Edition." Top

Gary Neal Johnson (Time) continues his work at Missouri Repertory Theatre, having appeared for the second year as Scrooge in A Christmas Carol. His other most recent roles were in Morning Star earlier this season and Major Barbara last year. Mr. Johnson has also acted at the Rep as Pizarro in The Royal Hunt of the Sun, Gallimard in M. Butterfly, the Professor in Oleanna, Long John Silver in Treasure Island, Julius Caesar in Julius Caesar, George in Of Mice and Men, Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Creon in Oedipus Rex, Manus in Translations, and Squeers in Nicholas Nickleby. Mr. Johnson has performed at American Heartland Theatre in Driving Miss Daisy, at New Theatre Restaurant in The Sound of Music, and at Heart of America Shakespeare Festival in the title role in King Lear. Mr. Johnson's television and film credits include "Burden of Proof," "Cross of Fire," "Murder Ordained," Baa Baa Black Sheep, Friendly Persuasion, and Spirit of the Season. Top

James Knight (Lord) made his Missouri Repertory Theatre debut last season in Machinal. He is a graduate student in acting at UMKC, where he has performed in department of theatre productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream, Ecstasy, The Sea, and The Winter's Tale. He also has performed in The Tempest and Twelfth Night at Heart of America Shakespeare Festival in Kansas City, Richard III at Shaw Theatre, SubUrbia and The Ballad of Cass at York Arena, Big White Fog, The Art of Dining, and Frankenstein at Multi-Form Theatre, and Much Ado About Nothing at Michigan Shakespeare Festival. Neil Maffin (Polixenes) is appearing at Missouri Repertory Theatre for the first time. In New York he has appeared in Salomé and Suddenly Last Summer on Broadway, High Infidelity and The Sum of Us off-Broadway, King John at Theatre for a New Audience, Entertaining Mr. Sloane at Classic Stage Company, Thief River and Finding the Sun at Signature Theatre Company, and Oblivion Postponed at Second Stage Theatre. Mr. Maffin has appeared for many leading resident theatres including Long Wharf Theatre, Arena Stage, Hartford Stage Company, Old Globe Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Williamstown Theatre Festival, and the Guthrie Theater. His film and television credits include 13th Warrior, Pants on Fire, Moment in Time, "Law & Order," "The Pretender," "The Promise," "Star Trek Voyager," and "Class of '96." Top

Seana McKenna (Hermione) is established as one of the leading actresses in Canada. She has spent ten seasons with the Stratford Festival where her Shakespearean roles have included Juliet, Viola, Cordelia, Lady Macbeth, Portia in The Merchant of Venice, Titania and Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream, and most recently, the Chorus in Henry V. Among other roles there have been Amanda in Private Lives, Dorine in Tartuffe, Lady Sneerwell in The School For Scandal, Hannah in Night of the Iguana and the title roles in Medea and the premiere of Good Mother. Starting at Victoria's Belfry Theatre, she toured with the first Canadian production of The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe. She has starred in Pygmalion, Candida (Shaw Festival), Hedda Gabler, Born Yesterday, Dancing at Lughnasa, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, A Streetcar Named Desire, and the Canadian premiere of Wit (Manitoba Theatre Centre). Other favorite parts include Cleopatra in Antony and Cleopatra and Masha in The Three Sisters. In the United States, Ms. McKenna has appeared at Boston's Huntington Theatre as Stella in A Streetcar Named Desire and as Jean Louise in To Kill a Mockingbird. She has also performed at Chicago's Court and Goodman Theatres, in How I Learned to Drive at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, and Repertory Theatre of St. Louis. She has received Vancouver's Jessie Award for her performance in Wit, Toronto's Dora Award for both acting (Saint Joan) and directing (Valley Song) and a Genie Award for her work in the feature film The Hanging Garden. Ms. McKenna lives outside Stratford with her husband Miles Potter and son Callan. Top

Manu Narayan (Florizel) is appearing for the first time at Missouri Repertory Theatre in The Winter's Tale. His Shakespeare roles include Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, Ferdinand in The Tempest and Dull in Love's Labor's Lost at Shakespeare and Company and Romeo in Romeo and Juliet. In New York, Mr. Narayan has appeared in Bintou at the Play Company, I Am Mou at Circle East, and Josephine's Song at York Theatre, and he has toured in Miss Saigon. Mr. Narayan has appeared on television in "Law & Order." He is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University. Top

Larry Paulsen (Old Shepard) made his Missouri Rep debut last season in Machinal. Mr. Paulsen appeared in six Peter Altman productions at the Huntington Theatre Company, including The Mikado, The Shaughraun, the world premiere of The Last Hurrah, Gross Indecency, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Mary Stuart. In New York, Mr. Paulsen has acted in The Kentucky Cycle on Broadway and in Julius Caesar at the New York Shakespeare Festival. His other credits include The Caucasian Chalk Circle, Curse of the Starving Class, and Inspecting Carol at Seattle Repertory Theatre, Changes of Heart at Mark Taper Forum, Death of a Salesman and Pirates at South Coast Repertory, The Tempest at Milwaukee Repertory Theater, and Sunsets and Glories, For Our Fathers, The Marriage of Bette and Boo, and Our Country's Good at A Contemporary Theatre. He is a veteran of eight seasons as a company member of Oregon Shakespeare Festival and has performed at Arizona Theatre Company, Denver Center Theatre, Portland Center Stage, San Diego Rep, Alaska Rep, and the Empty Space. Joe Price (Mariner) is a faculty member and the director of undergraduate studies for the UMKC Department of Theatre. He has recently directed Fuddy Meers at the Unicorn Theatre and Another Part of the Forest for UMKC. Mr. Price has been a founding member of A Red Orchid Theatre in Chicago and Oasis Theatre Company in Buffalo, where he served as associate artistic director. He also works as a combat choreographer and directed the fight scenes for Missouri Rep's productions of The Philadelphia Story, Company and Major Barbara. Top

Mark Robbins (Cleomenes) continues a long line of work at Missouri Repertory Theatre with The Winter's Tale. His other performances at MRT include A Christmas Carol, Major Barbara, The Seagull, Inherit the Wind, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Blithe Spirit, Oedipus the King, The Deputy, Romeo and Juliet, King Lear, Born Yesterday, and Nicholas Nickleby. At Heart of America Shakespeare Festival he has played the title roles in Macbeth and Richard III as well as Prospero in The Tempest. At the Unicorn Theatre he has performed in Closer and Speed-the-Plow. His performances at American Heartland Theatre include Sherlock's Last Case, What the Butler Saw, Solitary Confinement, The Little Foxes, Deathtrap, and How the Other Half Loves, and Mr. Robbins has appeared at Coterie Theatre in To Kill a Mockingbird. In Chicago, he has performed at Northlight Theatre in Benefactors, at Steppenwolf Theatre in Our Town, at the Oak Park Festival Theater in Julius Caesar, and the Court Theatre in The Oresteia, The Lady's Not For Burning, The Rivals, Arms and the Man, and The Birthday Party. At Boston Shakespeare Company, he performed in Romeo and Juliet and Private Lives. Mr. Robbins received his BA from Webster College Conservatory in St. Louis and his MFA from Wayne State University. Carmen Roman (Paulina) is appearing at the Rep for the first time, having recently returned from Melbourne, Australia where she played Patsy on tour in the Steppenwolf Theatre production of Side Man. Ms. Roman is a company member at American Theatre Company in Chicago. She received Joseph Jefferson Awards for her performances in Wit at the Goodman Theatre and for Master Class at the Northlight Theatre. Ms. Roman has also appeared at A Contemporary Theatre in Seattle, Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, and off-Broadway in The Iphigenia Cycle. Her film and television credits include Snow White, The Falcon, Marilyn, and "Early Edition." Ms. Roman received the 1999 Sarah Siddons Award and is a 2001 Fox Fellow. Top

Brianne Rose (Dorcas, Lady) is appearing for the first time at Missouri Rep having appeared in seven UMKC Department of Theatre productions: Thin Air: Tales From A Revolution, The Grapes of Wrath, Off to the Country, Mad Forest, Merrily We Roll Along, The Sea, and The Miser. She also has appeared in The Tempest for Heart of America Shakespeare Festival. Top

Adam Scally (Servant) is a third year graduate student at the UMKC Department of Theatre where he has acted in Anything to Declare?, The Grapes of Wrath, and Another Part of the Forest. He also has acted for Cider Mill Playhouse, and Hangar Theatre. Mr. Scally holds a BA in acting and directing from the State University of New York at Binghamton. Top

Jeff Talbott (Camillo) is appearing at Missouri Repertory Theatre for the first time. He has appeared in Home of the Brave and The Molly Maguires in New York, Enter the Guardsman and The Sisters Rosensweig at Indiana Repertory Theatre, A Christmas Carol at Syracuse Stage, The Gift of the Magi at Actors Theatre of Louisville, and The Beaux' Strategem and Slavs! at Yale Repertory Theatre. He has co-written the play Critical Moment, and his solo writing credits include Tender and For Nate and Molly. Mr. Talbott received his MFA from Yale School of Drama after earning his BFA from the University of Nebraska. He has appeared on television in "Law & Order." Top

Richard Wharton (Antigonus) is appearing at the Rep for the first time in The Winter's Tale. In Chicago, he has appeared in A Christmas Carol and Richard II at the Goodman Theatre, and King Lear, Henry V and Cymbeline at Shakespeare Repertory Theatre. He also has appeared in Chicago at National Jewish Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, Immediate Theatre, Teatro Vista, and Drury Lane Theatre, and his experience also includes Indiana Repertory Theatre and the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis. Mr.Wharton's film and television credits include Herman, U.S.A., Men Don't Leave, The Borrower, Running Scared, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Will and Grace," "Charmed," "Father Dowling Mysteries," and "The Untouchables." Spencer Wilson (Mamillius) has performed at Missouri Rep in A Christmas Carol for five seasons and also has been seen in the Rep's production of The Royal Hunt of the Sun and at Starlight Theatre in The King and I and Casper. He is in fourth grade at Sycamore Hills Elementary School. Top

D. Christian Bolender (Production Stage Manager) continues his work with the Rep having stage managed the productions of Morning Star and Machinal and served as assistant stage manager for A Christmas Carol and Blood Wedding. Previously he stage managed O for Cirque du Soleil and Notre Dame de Paris in Las Vegas. Among his other professional stage management credits are Long Day's Journey Into Night, Mere Mortals, The Unexpected Guest, Sleuth, Picasso at the Lapin Agile and Sylvia at the Alley Theatre in Houston, and Much Ado About Nothing, You Can't Take It With You, The Shoemaker's Holiday and A Flea in Her Ear for Utah Shakespearean Festival, as well as productions by the State Ballet of Missouri, Houston Grand Opera, and Opera Atelier in Toronto. Mr. Bolender received his MFA in stage management from UMKC in 1993. Top
