This is one of those unique situations. This dock measured 24 feet by 20 feet and had this huge lodge built on it with the feed bed under it. I took 6 beavers on this call and the owner was very happy. The neighbors decorated the lodge for Christmas. The beavers were not amused and had the decorations buried in mud the next day.
This lodge was located on an island in the middle of Lake of the Ozarks.The beaver in it were cutting fruit and ornamental trees in the back yards of neighboring resorts. The lodge is huge and still occupied to this day but with a fewer number of beavers living in it. The year I first trapped this lodge the water was very high on Lake of the Ozarks and the island was submerged 2 feet making it easy to trap the trails the beavers were using for travel and lodge repair with 330 conibears.
