return.gif (1190 bytes)

Characteristics: Handsome ground cover with whorls of rich green leaves and a lacy blanket of white flowers in spring. Grows about 6 inches high.

Growing Information: A great herb for shaded gardens with rich, moist soil. Space plants 18 to 24 inches apart. Mulch in spring as the plant emerges, and keep the soil evenly moist.

Propagation: Can easily be propagated by division.

Possible Problems: Avoid full sun and dry soil, which can cause foliage to yellow and wilt. It goes dormant in hot summers.

Harvesting and Using: Pick sprigs just before flowering for the best fragrance. Dry the sprigs in a cool, airy place for fragrance. Use dried leaves in potpourri.
