If you've visited before or came here from an outside link, you're probably used to seeing all sorts of Buckskinner, Mountain Man and Historical Reenactment products for sale. While we are still avid enthusiasts of Buckskinner and Mountain Man Rendezvous and other Historical Reenactments, we have had to change things a bit here at Buckhorn Trading Company.
The original Buckhorn Trading Company emerged in the early 1980's as an avenue for us to market the goods and products that we and other handicrafters were creating in our quest to experience first-hand the skills our forefathers found necessary to thrive and survive. We had a blast and even went "full-time" as Rendezvous Traders for about five years.
I loved being on the road, traveling to new events and meeting new people. As far as I was concerned life was grand and I looked forward to many more years of the same. Then, in June of 2004, at the summer rendezvous at Fort De Chartres, IL, I suffered two separate injuries that made it difficult for me to make it through the weekend and then to break camp to leave. To make a long story short I realized my full-time "trading" days were over and that I needed to find a new way of earning a living.
Well, I am now back to work at my "old job" for 40 hours a week but am also getting back into handcrafting goods for the fine folks who participate in the many historical reenecatments and rendezvous scattered across the country. I just can't make it to as many rendezvous and I can no longer set up as a big trader so most of my selling will be done from these pages.
It's going to take me a spell to build up my inventory of leather goods, haversacks, sashes & legging garters, trade knives and other assorted foofaraw. In the meantime I am putting everything I have on hand and available for sale in my Ebay store at the link below.
I am mainly using the Ebay Store to handle sales and payment processing so I can accept credit cards & debit cards. Also, if you don't see it listed in the Ebay Store, then you'll know it's not available at this time.
