Quartermainia

Port Charles' First Family of Dysfunction!

AJ Quartermaine had just left his penthouse after spending the night with his girlfriend, Cleo Windsor. He headed to the airport because he heard his estranged sister, Jaslyn was flying into town. Jaslyn is the twin sister of Jason, and took her brother's memory loss pretty hard leading her to leave town. She was excited to see her brother AJ, and on the drive to the Quartermaine mansion, the two caught up. Jaslyn found out about AJ's children, and the extent to which he and Jason no longer get along. She was alarmed by that. Once home, she was happy to see her mother who set about to call everyone to come home for a reunion. Meanwhile, AJ found the letter Brenda left and discovered the fact that Justus is persumed dead. Thankfully, Cleo showed up to comfort the saddened AJ.

Nikolas and Emily were heading over to the Quartermaine mansion, originally to see Jaslyn. Emily took the few free moments the couple had together to tell him that she was expecting his baby. Both were over the moon about the news. Their happiness was fleeting...when they arrived at the mansion, they were informed of Justus' death. Emily immediately began to feel faint and had to be escorted to a seat. Both Nikolas and Monica were worried about the baby. Emily assured them that she would be careful and began to wonder if Justus was really dead. After all, there was no body so she refused to give up hope. But Monica found out the entire island had been destroyed. Still, Emily didn't want to give up and tried to stear the conversation to a more happy topic - her baby.

Meanwhile, Jaslyn went to call her twin brother Jason. At that moment, he was on a plane flying to Sonny's island where he was going to marry Sam. She explained that she was home and that Justus had died. She said the family needed him...she needed him. He assured her he would get home as quickly as possible but that he needed to be on the island. Jaslyn understood but couldn't help but be upset. She went into the bathroom and gave into her secret addiction by popping some pills. When she reemerged she found that Skye had arrived and learned the sad news. Cleo was trying her best to confort AJ but found that this situation was too similar to her own loss. She was about to leave when Skye and Jaslyn insisted she stay to learn more about the woman who had caught AJ's heart.

Then finally the family got some exciting news...Justus was really alive! Devin, Skye, AJ, Monica, Alan and Jaslyn all piled the limo together to the hospital to see him. Along the way, Cleo made a comment about being bored, and AJ blew up at her. What the rest didn't know was that AJ was having a blackout...a sign of trouble to come. Cleo was offended and upset and got out of the car, calling her brother William to come pick her up. AJ ran after her but she needed a break.

Skye decided to take her new friend, Devin Ross over to Jax's to meet her daughter. The two arrived to find that the place already a full house - with Jason and Sam, and Courtney also there. Skye introduced Devin to her daughter, Kasey, who she knew had a hard time realizing her parents couldn't be together. She was wowed when Devin charmed Kasey over, even suggesting the two play hide and seek in the dark.

Alan, Monica and Jaslyn continued to the hospital when the snow started. Their limo soon ran into trouble and flew off the road and into the ditch. For a moment, everyone was stunned. Monica than began to plead with her husband and daughter to wake up. Jaslyn was teetering close to death, seeing a vision of her dead fiance. Monica managed to wake her up and she pleaded with her mother to call her twin, Jason. Alan managed to get Dillon on the phone and explained what had happened before the phone died out. Dillon called the police but he had a situatin of his own to deal with.

Jaslyn finally managed to get her cell phone to work long enough to put a distress call out to Jason. He was able to use the police to track down the car and ambulances took the injured family to the hospital. He and Sam quickly made their way to there as well. Jaslyn was being examined by Dr. Tom Miller, the hospital's newest staff member. She was afraid to admit her true history because she thought her parents would find out about her drug use. Jason soon showed up and the twins were reunited. Jaslyn was hurt and needed care. Jason asked his wife if he could bring his sister to their home while she got better. Sam agreed.

Alan suffered the most serious injuries. He was bleeding internally, and badly needed a blood transfusion. The hospital didn't have the required type on hand so they began trying to match family members to donate some blood. Jason agreed to be tested as match, as did Skye, Monica, and Brooklyn. Everyone was optomistic that one of them would be a match for Alan. But in the end, every one of them turned out to not be a match for Alan. Monica then made a desperate plea to the public - a million dollars for a donor who matched her ailing husband's blood type.

While the family waited and prayed for a donor to show up, AJ languished in a waiting cell. He was provoked into letting Junior take over when John Durant showed up promising to keep him behind bars for ever. Rae promised to help him get out. Finally AJ was visited by Cleo - his lady love. He convinced her that he was sick and needed help. Back at the hospital, Skye and Devin contemplated lawyers and she finally called Alexis, who agreed to represent AJ!

The mysterious donor finally showed up in the form of Caleb Turner, a drifter with a shady background. He had been turning up the heat with Autumn Brown when he heard the call for donation. It wasn't the thought of saving a man's life that beckoned him - it was the thought of a million dollars to call his own. He made his way to the hospital, trying to act respectable. He won the lottery - his blood matched Alan's. He was ushered to meet the family. Monica claimed that he was familar. Edward arrived to announce that Lydia Karenin was still alive! And Alan finally woke up to argue about the validity of Edward's statements and what to do about AJ. Forgetting the check momentarily, Caleb told the family to go on Jerry Springer to work out their differences and high tailed it out of there!

Edward immediately launched in his way of getting rid of Lydia- to pay her off. Of course this lead to a family arguement. Monica was worried about AJ. Alan wanted to make sure his son was alright as well. Into this arguement, Michael wandered having run off from his parents again. Edward caught sight of the boy. While Monica was overjoyed to see her grandson and immediately wanted to try to introduce him to AJ's daughter Alana, Edward wanted to know if Sonny and Carly knew he was there. When he admitted that he had snuck out, Edward made him call his parents before taking him out of the hospital room to talk about the Quartermaines. Michael left wanting to know more.

As Edward and Alan argued whether or not Lydia was alive, the woman in question (and very much alive) went to the police station to find her husband. Face to face through the bars AJ could hardly believe his eyes - Lydia was alive! They too shared a tearful reunion interupted by Alexis Davis. Alexis was taken aback to find Lydia there. Lydia explained that she had not died in the car accident like everyone believed. Quickly recovering from her shock, Alexis gave her a warning - stay away from the Cassadines. Lydia decided to leave she and AJ alone to discuss his case. Alexis did a run down on how they stood for his case and then asked him what he wanted to do about custody of he and Lydia's daughter, Alana.

Across town, Brooklyn was less than impressed to get a phone call from her mother, Lois. Things went from bad to worse for the teen when Lois informed her that she was in town, and wanting to meet Brooklyn at Kelly's. Brooklyn reluctantly agreed and once at the diner explained to her mom that she was involved in ReVamped, writing jingles and doing some modelling. This made Lois happy - her daughter was on her way to being a star.

Lydia arrived at the hospital and had Monica paged to the information desk. There the two women experienced a tearful reunion, prompting Lydia to wondering why Monica was the first to give her a warm welcome. Monica confided that she wasn't fond of Cleo, thinking that she was not right for her son. Her biggest qualm...she was Sonny Corinthos' daughter. Lydia just wanted to see Alana. When she was brought to the room, Edward had a fit wanting to keep his great grandchild away from Lydia, who he dubbed a golddigger. Monica intervened on Lydia's behalf and the mother was reunited with her child!

Meanwhile, Skye had agreed to go to New York with Devin to search for his father. She wanted to take Kasey with her and called Jax to let him know. It was then that she found out Jax had gotten full custody of their daughter when she was kidnapped by Heather. Upset, she told Devin that she and Jax would definately had to work this out when the three of them returned from their trip. Kasey was excited to go to New York. Once there, Devin arranged for he and Skye to have a candlelight dinner in their hotel room. The pair shared their first kiss.

AJ showed up at his father's hospital room, having broken out of jail. The family was surprised and immediately urged AJ to return to jail. He had been having flashbacks - remembering a boyfriend of Tracy's that had abused him when he was a child. Maybe this was the root of his split personality. Lydia was also in the room and flat out told AJ in order for them to become any kind of family again, he had to get better. He had to go away for treatment. Although AJ didn't want to at first, he eventually agreed to be driven to a treatment center by Lydia. On the way there, Junior made an appearance but Lydia was unmoved. AJ and Junior were now locked up...to be treated.

Back in New York, Kasey began to tell her mother she didn't feel well. After trying to some home remedies, Skye and Devin realized that there was something seriously wrong and took the little girl to the hospital. It was there they discovered she needed to have her appendix removed. Skye immediately called Jax to tell him and he rushed to his daughter's side. Skye realized she could do nothing more but wait and hope for the best. Thankfully, Kasey came through the surgery with flying colors, relieving everyone!

Back at home, Monica and Alan were looking for some peace after all the ups and downs. They didn't get it for long - a woman named Sydney Cooper showed up looking for Caleb. After reading about him giving Alan a tranfusion she figured that the Quartermaines could help her find her old friend. However, they didn't take her instrusion so likely. Sydney soon found herself behind bars. Feeling bad, Alan slipped Sydney Caleb's phone number and she called, interupting a private moment between Caleb and Autumn. He reluctantly agreed to bail out his friend. The two talked and Sydney found that Caleb had changed - and she didn't like it.

Kasey was allowed to go home to Jax's where she began her recovery. Meanwhile, Adam Chandler, Skye's adoptive father had arrived in Port Charles and was hoping to mend fences with her and get to know Kasey. He arrived at the Quartermaine mansion to see if he could enlist Alan and Edward. Edward told him to do it himself - so Adam did - he called Skye but she was not interested in anything he had to say. Adam had struck out!

The Quartermaine house is never quiet - and it was about to be thrown into disarray again when Abigail McDaniel turned up at the mansion's door. She was there to see Monica - and it was soon revealed why. When she was younger Monica had had an affair that produced Abigail. She was forced to give the baby up and now her daughter was standing in front of her. Overwhelmed, she embraced the young woman. But the rest of the family was leary, with Edward even demanding a paternity test. Monica and Abby agreed - if only to shut up the rest of the family!

Meanwhile, AJ was taking his first step towards getting better. He wrote letters to those Junior had hurt - including one where he broke things off with Cleo for good. Finally, he was ready to be released. On the flight home he dreamed of meeting his children grown up and realized that if he didn't help them they would turn out horribly. As soon as he arrived, he ran into Lydia. He wanted she and Alana to be his family again but Lydia made it clear she wanted space. He agreed.
