Irondequoit High School Cross- Country
10/08/2002- Cronmiller Leads Irondequoit Girls Cross-Country Team to the Division II Championship!
Senior Susanna Cronmiller finished in first place with a time of 20:16 at Mendon Ponds East to lead Irondequoit to victory over Brighton
by a score of 22-36. This victory gave the team a 6-0 record and the Division II Championship. Sophomore Molly Plovanich finished in 3rd place
with a time of 20:41. Junior Megan McHugh finished in 5th place with a time of 20:43. Sisters Freshman Maureen Jones (21:43/7) and Senior
Kathryn Jones (22:07/8) finished out the scoring. Also running great races were seniors Marcia Brayer (22:25/ 12th) and Clair Sick( 22:34/14th).
The Irondequoit Girls also beat Gates-Chili (15- 50) and Pittsford Mendon (17-42) to have an overall record of 14- 3. Coach Manuszak noted that
Cronmiller has led the team for the past three races and has helped the new girls really improve. She is a great leader.
Having the best races of their season on a very difficult course were Junior Emily Quinlan (22:49/ 17th), Freshmen Christine Braggins (24:13/ 23rd),
Emily Kieliszak (24:49/27th), Rachel Harvey (24:54/28th), Amanda Grabowski (25:55/34th), Jennifer Rafferty (26:50/39th),and Rachel Carstens (28:00/46th).
Also running great times were Junior Heather Mason(27:05/ 42nd) and Seniors Kathleen Bull (28:45/47th) and Laura Reardon (28:45/48th).
Senior Rachel Yingling finished a mile in 12 :42 before dropping out.
