Uncommon Love
Jacqueline’s Junque
Placing his gentle fingers
So softly under her chin
You make me proud...
Her gaze was only for him.
He looked deeply in her eyes...
I see what you are becoming.
And I know the courage it took
For you to go on loving.
You are chasing away
All the ghosts of your past,
The true meanings of love
You are learning at last.
She saw in his beautiful eyes
Something that made her quiver
And as he held her close
Down her spine went a shiver.
Over her silken tresses
He softly ran his hand
Such uncommon love
From such a common man.
Her heart overflowed
And her tears began to fall
No one would understand
If she ever told it all.
They communicated with words
Somehow lost in time
Like cherished and treasured
And... forever mine.
Filling eachothers heartfelt needs
To nuture, honor and protect.
Encouraging and lifting the other
Without ever abuse or neglect.
Teaching her to trust again
Made him smile with pleasure.
And she was teaching him at last
A love that had no measure.
To lean on someone not just self
He had helped to make her grow
His own heart slowly blossoming
In ways only he could know.
Two such common people
Sharing one uncommon love
Sheltered and protected
By the angels from above.
