SANCHO THE SERVANT-SEEDS-SHEKINAH-SHOOTING STARS-SILVER MORNING-
STAND ON THE ROCK
"SANCHO THE SERVANT"
by Jeff Leslie 1980
I am Sancho the servant of my Master's house
I keep Him company. He have no spouse
One day He decide to have a great big feast
He send me all around town to get the ones invited
But no one decided to eat. It sounding so silly to me
One say he have to see some land he bought
You should have looked before you bought, I thought
Another can't come because he married a wife
I tell him bring her along. I hear her yelling from door
I bother him no more. It's his life. I guess he would rather
go fight
Oh, Master of mine, it seem they don't want to dine
I think that they don't know what they're missing
I eat here before, you give me tacos galore
And for dessert You handing out blessing
Now my Master is mad. He say, "Go out in the street
Invite for my dinner everybody you meet."
I bring them all back. He say, "Go get me some more
But if some follow you home who got the invitation
Tell them it's too late. Shut the door.
They're missing what I have in store"
Oh, my Master will serve you anything you like
You get spaghetti and meatballs or a coconut pie
Eat as much as you like until you think you pop
Then He's handing out blessings and it never stop
But you better come now while you think you should
For when He shut the door, He shut you out for good
If He lock you outside, you probably fry in the heat
But if He shutting you in, you get a heavenly feast
Oh, my Master will serve you anything you like
You get chicken chow mein or a pastrami on rye
Eat as much as you like until you think you pop
Then He's handing out blessings and it never stop
Oh, my Master will serve you and the food is free
I like chili con queso cherries jubilee
Eat as much as you like until you think you pop
Then He's handing out blessings and it never stop
Yes He's handing out blessings and it never stop
“SEEDS” by Jeff Leslie 8/3/90
This song is for all with ears for hearing
Consider what you listen to or read
Be careful what you plant in your soul's garden
For all the things around you are like seeds
Seek ye first the seeds that edify you
Plant them deep and firm within your heart
These will be the best to satisfy you
Seeds when planted satan can't root out
Seeds of God will grow in every season
Seeds of God will rise up strong and tall
Seeds of God are planted for a reason
Seeds of God when grown will never fall
The fruit you bear when ready for the harvest
Will feed the soul of each and every man
And these become the seeds of God inside them
And soon will reach the world as God has planned
So seek ye first the seeds that edify you
Plant them deep and firm within your heart
For these will be the best to satisfy you
Seeds when planted satan can't root out
"SHEKINAH" by Jeff Leslie
1985
Gazing at the midnight sky I've seen a hundred thousand eyes
Glowing back they wink at me
Like pinholes in soft velvet black, blinking through from brilliance that's
Too bright at once for me to see
Falling down from heaven, piercing like a sword
Straight into my heart -- the glory of the Lord
Shekinah, when you shine, I know where I want to be
Shekinah, when you shine, I know what your glory means
Shekinah, when you shine, it's so very clear to see
Shekinah, when you shine, I know God is here with me
Silver showers racing fast from angry thunder simulcast
As lightning cracks the eastern sky
A second split but ample time to glimpse your glory there behind
Can't wait to see you eye to eye
And every time it rains I will be watching for
The light to pierce my heart -- the glory of theLord
Shekinah, when you shine, I know where I want to be
Shekinah, when you shine, I know what your glory means
Shekinah, when you shine, it's so very clear to see
Shekinah, when you shine, I know God is here with me
When northern winds bring winter snow I've seen Shekinah gently flow
Like frozen flakes of righteousness
To cover sin of scarlet red and make me white as snow instead
Oh, watch me flee the sting of death
Shekinah, when you shine, I know where I want to be
Shekinah, when you shine, I know what your glory means
Shekinah, when you shine, it's so very clear to see
Shekinah, when you shine, I know God is here with me
“SHOOTING STARS” by
Jeff Leslie 6/2/97 - 8/15/98
One lazy Sunday evening as I watched the setting sun
The sky turned black as ebony preparing for some fun
Then diamonds filled the canvas on the dark side of the moon
Each one an easy target on a summer night in June
My lap became a saddle a young cowboy climbed upon
Then he slowly raised the barrel of his Western Ranger gun
He sat so still I thought I heard the beating of his heart
Two fingers pulled the trigger and he started shooting stars
Shooting stars, shooting stars
From the edge of the universe
To Mercury and Mars
Shooting stars, shooting stars
He loves to play beneath the Milky Way
Shooting stars
Now and then that sparkling sky will help him with his quest
That is when the ranger thinks his aim is at its best
His gun will pop, a star will fall and sink into the west
And his face will shine, that boy of mine will beam with happiness
Shooting stars, shooting stars
From the edge of the universe
To Mercury and Mars
Shooting stars, shooting stars
He loves to play beneath the Milky Way
Shooting stars
Every night I pray for him that a star will gently fall
When we spend this time together, it’s the greatest thrill of all.
Shooting stars, shooting stars
From the edge of the universe
To Mercury and Mars
Shooting stars, shooting stars
He loves to play beneath the Milky Way
"SILVER MORNING" by Jeff
Leslie 6/86, 5/17/90
There's a promise that I've read of a day that lies ahead
To the future from the past through eternity will last
A neverending life
And I know this promise is true
Because I've seen what He can do
And I'm looking so forward to
Being there by His side
On that sweet silver morning
So precious to me
On that sweet silver morning
When Jesus I see
There are times alone I've prayed when in the dark afraid
I'd close my eyes and dream of the day from all my fears
I would be freed
And I know His promise is true
Because I've seen what He can do
And I'm looking so forward to
Oh, that heavenly peace
On that sweet silver morning
So precious to me
On that sweet silver morning
When Jesus I see
And the Spirit wind will blow
And an angel choir will sing
When the sky begins to glow
With the glory of the King
On that sweet silver morning
So precious to me
On that sweet silver morning
When Jesus I see
“STAND ON THE ROCK” by Jeff Leslie 6/26/00
If you try to take a step
And the wind just blows you back
Step again, step again
When the enemy seems stronger
Every time that he attacks
There’s a way that you can win
Stand on the Rock
Shake your fist and watch him shutter
Just say the Word
And he’ll be falling in defeat
Look up to God
Put the enemy behind you
Then when you walk
He'll be the dust beneath your feet
