During the early to mid 1990's when the Sonic craze was going on
right after Sonic 2's release Yuki Naki made two childrens arcade machines
only for Japan. They are called "waku waku sonic patrol car" and "cosmo fighter".
All I've found are pictures of the machines themsevles not of the game play.

Look closely and you can see the screen with sonic in a "cosmo fighter".
