First yeaR Orientation Guide (FROG) - JMU, August-September 2004

§     Assisted with the implementation of James Madison 1787 orientation programs.

§     Assisted first year students in developing peer relationships, academic effectiveness, and personal adjustment to JMU through small group discussions, individual advisement, and positive interaction.

§     Served as a peer mentor to first year students throughout the 2004-2005 academic year; maintained contact with first year students throughout the year.

Lifeguard Manager – AAA Pools; Summers 2004, 2003

§     Performed all duties of assistant manager/lifeguard while also responsible for managing other lifeguards.

Assistant Manager/Lifeguard – AAA Pools; Summers 2000-2002

§     Responsible for controlling pump room, testing water, cleaning pool and deck/ restroom areas, setting up equipment, skimming pool, and guarding patrons.

§     Provided training and development of leadership skills and abilities for high school and middle school student leaders across the country and around the world.

§     As Housing Chairman- Worked to recruit 500 host families for the students to stay during the conference.  Organized host family programs, recruitment sessions, and receptions.

§     In 2001 and 2000- Observed the NASC Conference in North Carolina and California to shadow the Housing Chair to learn about how to organize and plan the conference.

Safe-rides – JMU; 2004-present

§     Helped organize and participate in a student run program that educates JMU students about drunk driving and provides safe, free transportation around the Harrisonburg area to students.
