Again! Mother nature plays a roll in a 3rd Midwest Sportsman tourney. The morning thunderstorms kept some
of our teams home, but 16 took off on time and would encounter a passing storm about 8:30 am that gave
way to blue-bird days and TUFF fishing. This was the final tourney for the year to decide the top
teams that would go on to Paducah KY to fish in the National Classic in October. Taking the 1st spot was
Watson and Brantley who worked jigs and worms through brush piles in the main lake for a solid limit. The
2nd spot went to Lawyer-Lawyer using the same worm pattern that won the last Stockton event. The team of
Clift-Medley would bring in the days Big Bass that anchored the 3rd spot and those fish all came on a
brown jig. The final paying spot went to Chaney-Butler who went to the river with crankbaits and worms.
After the weigh-in the teams re-fueled on a lunch that was prepared by Sherry Jones (asst. Director) and
THANK YOU to
COCA-COLA for cold drinks. We wish to thank all those that have supported Midwest Sportsman in 2003. We
CONGRADULATE wish GOOD LUCK to those that have qualified to go to Paducah, KY.
