PAGEANT REGULATIONS
- Contestant must be single and between the ages of 15 to 20.
- Contestants must not be living with a male in lieu of a marriage contract.
- The purpose of this pageant is to promote Missouri's Scenic Waterways, Campgrounds and Conservation.
- This title has duties and responsibilities.
- It will cost you your time and, on occasion, your own money.
- No entry fee or performing talent is required.
- The selection will be based upon a facial photograph, swimwear, evening gown, judges interview, public speaking(question and answer on stage).
- the decision is final.
- The pageant will not award prizes per se, however, the Queen will be exposed to a great deal of promotion and television coverage with no financial compensation whatsoever.
- Should prizes be donated, that announcement will be made during the pageant, when awarded.
- The Queen chosen will be required to sign a "release"stating that permission to utilize her picture to promote Missouri tourism, et cetera, understanding that said release will be without limitation and with financial compensation.
- If you do not complete your reign, the title is passed back to the previous Queen(provided she has served according to the terms of this Pageant and remains in good standing)or runner-up as the case may be.
- Regardless of the weather the Pageant is held out doors.
- As long as she resides in the state, she is expected to actively continue her duties which are 1)promote tourism, and 2)support non-profit organization fund raising activities.
- All personal arrangements and expenses are your responsibility.
YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO
- Make public appearances
- Project the epitome of majestic demeanor, at all times.
- Study the history of the state.
- Remain after the coronation ceremonies for publicity photographs.
- Work closely with the general public and the person directing the pageant.
- Cancel any appearances, well in advance, either through 1)personal notice to the person of authority where you are to appear, (telephone or written), or 2)the person directing the pageant.
- Immediately surrender the crown upon request of the person directing the pageant.
- The crown and banner are a "loan" to be used for public appearances, the reigning Queen has the option of purchasing her own crown and banner.
CANDIDATES WILL BE JUDGED ON
Swimwear
Swimwear should be in good taste (not lewd) a one-piece is preferred, but not mandatory. 20% of your score is based on Swimwear.
Facial photograph
A 5 X 7 Headshot photo should be used but not mandatory. Your photogenic qualities are assesed. This is 10% of your score.
Interview
Suitable attire for occasion: Mode of dress is optional Most wear a dressy business outfit. Interview is 35% of your score.
Question and Answer
A question will be asked of you on stage. This will be 15% of your score.
Evening Wear
Ankle length, style and color optional.
General Information
October 27, 2001 9:00 at Bass River Resort is where Registration and orientation will be held. ALL CANDIDATES ARE REQUIRED TO BE IN ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUAL. At this time, your schedule, interview and location, coronation rehearsal, etc, is discussed. You will need to plan to spend the whole day in Pageant activities.
Each candidate is responsible for her own transportation, and each candidate should bring one dressy casual sports wear outfit.
With the exception of the the photo judging and judges interviews, all other competition will be open to the public.
Pageant Tentative Schedule
- 9:00 a.m. Registration and Orientation
- 9:45 a.m. Coronation Rehearsal
- 10:30 a.m. Interviews
- 12:00 p.m. Swimwear (begins immediately after interviews).
- Break
- 1:30 Evening Gown and Question and Answer
- 3:00 CORONATION
