John Thomas Mullen was born October 21, 1905, in Crawford County, Missouri, to the union of Maurgarite (Neron) Mullen and John Francis Mullen and entered eternal life June 20, 1992, at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla, MO., at the age of 86 years, 7 months, and 29 days.
On Christmas eve, 1954, at Steelville, Mo., Rev. Sam Roper united Tommy in marriage to Edna Mae Arnett.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Julie Westover and four brothers, Lawrence, Joseph, Charles and Harrison Mullen.
Among those who remain to mourn his passing are his loving and devoted wife, Edna Mae Mullen of the home in Steelville, Mo., one son, Robert "Bob" Mullen and wife Lois of Danville, Ca., one sister, Katherine and husband Clarence Summers of Steelville, Mo., two sisters-in-law, Augusta Mullen of Steelville, Mo., and Blanche Mullen of Lakeside, Az.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
John Thomas Mullen lay in state after 5:00 p.m. Monday, June 22, 1992, at the Britton Brothers Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo. Masonic services were held 7:00 p.m. Monday, in the Britton Chapel, with Lebanon Lodge #77 AF & AM officiating. Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 1992, in the Britton Chapel, with Revs. William and Susan Guyer Birch officiating. Beautiful music was provided by organist Deloris Bell and vocalist Jerry Beers. Committal prayers and interment were in Steelville Cemetery, Steelville, Mo.
Pallbearers were Henry Adams, Maurice Cape, John Carr, Jack England, Bill Lea, Gary Mullen, Homer Perkins and Larry Wilkinson. Arrangements were under the direction of Britton Brothers Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo.

EDNA MAE MULLEN
Edna Mae Mullen was born October 2, 1911 at Steelville, Missouri, daughter of the late W. F. Arnett and Missouri Ann (Key) Arnett and entered eternal life March 20, 1994 at the Gibbs Care Center, Steelville, Missouri, at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 18 days.
On Christmas eve, 1954, at Steelville, Mo., Edna Mae was united in marriage by Rev. Sam Roper to John Thomas Mullen. They had enjoyed over thirty-seven years together before his death June 20, 1992.
Edna Mae became a member of Steelville Presbyterian Church in 1919, where she had served as Deacon and pianist for a number of years. She was Past Worthy Matron of Martha and Mary OES #364, and worked in the Garden Club and various civic and community organizations. She was a much loved piano teacher and taught for many years.
Edna Mae Mullen lay in state after 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 21, 1994, at the Britton Chapel with Revs. William and Susan Guyer Birch officiating. Musical selections were provided by Deloris Bell and Rusty Cook.
Committal prayers and interment was in Steelville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Henry Adams, Jerry Bryan, John Carr, Jack England, Terry England, Gary Mullen and Homer Perkins. Arrangements were under the direction of Britton Brothers Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo.

HARRISON MULLEN
Harrison Mullen, 73, of 2711 Marshall Ave., a retired sheet metal worker, died Tuesday, April 13, 1982 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
He had been ill and hospitalized for 21 days. Mr. Mullen was born and resided in Steelville, Mo., prior to moving to this area in 1940.
Mr. Mullen worked at General Steel Industries for 31 years before he retired. He was a member of the Iron Workers Local 1022.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Mullen, on Dec. 15, 1980, and a sister Mrs. Julia Westover in 1981.
Survivors include two sons, Harrison E. Mullen and John E. Mullen, both of Granite City; five daughters, Mrs. Ina Mefford, Mrs. Linda Apponyi and Mrs. Ann Knobeloch, all of Granite City, Mrs. Clara Wake, Springfield, Ill., and Mrs. Eula Daly, Las Vegas, Nev.; four brothers, Charles, Lawrence and Tom Mullen, all of Steelville, MO., and Joe Mullen, Tempe, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Katherine Summers, Steelville, Mo., and 23 grandchildren.
Visitation is at the present time at Irwin Chapel For Funerals, 2801 Madison Ave. The Rev. Clifton Galiher will conduct services at 11 a.m. Friday, April 16, at Bethel Chapel Pentecostal Church, 25th. Street and Ohio Avenue. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Edwardsville Township.

OBITUARY --
Mrs. Harrison Mullen (nee Florence Ennis) of Route 1, Steelville, died Friday, February 2, 1934 at the Rolla Hospital and was buried the following day at Cross Roads cemetery, near Leasburg. Is survived by her husband, a baby girl one month old, her parents Mr. & Mrs. Frank Ennis, and three brothers and one sister - as follows: Merle, Edward, James and Flossie Ennis.
The funeral service was conducted by the elder J. L. Hemlin and burial was at Cross Roads. Sincerest sympathy is felt for her dear bereaved young husband and for her other loved ones.
