Obit: Tillie Brooks, 74 of Corning, Ark., died Thursday, February 11, 1988, at Corning Community Hospital. She was a homemaker.

She was born October 2, 1913 in Warm Springs, Ark. She was a member of Fourth Street Freewill Baptist Church in Corning. She was married to William O. Brooks on January 2, 1932. He died August 31, 1983.

She is survived by four sons, Dallas Brooks of St. Louis, William Brooks of Bridgeton, Winfred Brooks of Rockford, John Brooks of Corning; seven daughters, Ruby Littell of Doniphan, Alice Myers and Peggy Cannady, both of Corning, Wanda Howard of Denham Springs, La., Wilma Morgan of Maynard, Ark., Priscilla Hunter of Cape Girardeau, and Bettye McCann of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; two brothers, Claude Bellah of Hawaii and Willie Bellah of Corning; one sister, Ava Baker of Hillsboro; two half-brothers, Eli Hovis of corning and Granvil Hovis of Success, Ark.; and 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Services were at 1 p.m. Sunday at Ermert Funeral Home Chapel in Corning. Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery in Ripley County. (Submitted by Peggy Brooks Cannady)
