April/2/2003: Somebody to love
Okay. I guess I shouldn't try to hide it anymore, so I'll just let it out. Here is it.
I used to be in love with Taylor Hanson since I was like 14 or so. I guess it's cause we are both born in March and have similar personalities etc, (even though I really wouldn't know, It's just assumption). His marriage to Natalie really shook me (to the point that I actually cried to my mother about it.) I actually cried (teenie bopperish I know), but I just couldn't keep my feelings inside anymore.
I've just read some quotes from him on another site and I've realized something. This man (boy?) is extremely beautiful. (That's just one word to describe him: Beautiful) I don't mean his physical appearance, but his inner personality. Just thinking about it, makes me want to cry (tears of happiness) cause he is just so damn (accuse the language) beautiful. Watching the MOE videos and stuff, you actually see and hear him talking and it's just like he's (ughh!) I can't explain it. I would love to have a friend like him because he's everything that I would want in a guy friend/husband one day.
I wish him, Natalie and Ezra the best in everything in the future. (Though sometimes it's heard to comprehend that he's married. His 'wife and son' just is weird to me. I don't know) The one thing I do know, (or hope is true) is that he will always try to be the best spouse/father to Nat and Ezra that he can. He just let's out the feeling that he would do anything for them and never (intentionally, people aren't perfect) do anything to hurt them in anyway. I feel that he will take his relationship with Natalie to the end of his lifetime and will love her forever. (I know that just sounded like a load of crap, but I hope you get what I mean.)
He's the type to be truely devoted to his new family just like he is to the music.
I don't know what drew me in to Taylor from the first moment I saw him smiling on the MMMBOP video. He smiled (in front of the pansy) and I was just thinking 'Who is that?...Show that person again!' (into the tv screen).
Call it infatuation or something but, I truely fell in love with this person on my tv sreen (whom I didn't and still don't know), at the young age of 14.
Please don't think of me as some teeny bopper who's obsessed over him. Hanson's music has guided me to discover my own talent of playing piano by ear (the first keys to 'Merry Christmas Baby'), and I will forever be thankful for them. It's the music, that get's me up and going in the morning and makes me feel so good inside. They opened a doorway for me at a time in my life when I really needed it.
Hanson are the best band in the world and Taylor is just one part of the whole package. Ike and Zac make up the other pieces of the pie and I will always love them, for their inspiration and music.
As for Taylor, he will never know (cause I can't put it into words) the impact his has had one me and I will always love him for the person that I know he is, and will be. There will probably always be a place in my heart and soul for him because I know that that same little boy is down deep inside him still, at 20 years of age. Everytime he smiles.
I love you, forever and always.
Please give me something
March/5/03: Haven't you outgrown them?
Recently while asking my mother about the possibility
of getting the new H-net 2.0 package.
I was confronted with this question:
"Haven't you outgrown them?" and "Have they come out
with any new music?"
That question is a bittersweet topic for me. Back in 97-98, I was
always listening to the music or watching the homevideos. In 98, I went
to the Atlanta show of the Albertane tour and became a MOE member.
In 2000, I was real excited about 'This time around' (even though
I didn't go to a concert because of school).
From 2001 until now, we are awaiting for a 'much' anticipated
third studio album, adjusting to Taylor's marriage and newborn son
and Zac's new haircut. (The latter of which is just a physical change and doesn't really matter.)
I told her that 'I like them for the music.' but she said that I should spend the money on something else. She's worried that they are just spending money off of us (the fans) and we should just not do it. I personally, want that unreleased cd but I don't know if I'll get it or not. My parents just spent almost $900 on a new computer for me and $40 more dollars seems like a lot, I guess. Especially on something as trivial as a music cd. Don't know if I'll get H.net (this close to my birthday and they are supposed to send out the membership kits sometime this month. My mom said
'I'll think about it.' Let's just hope it's something good.
Nov-Dec 2002Wilco: Summerteeth:
It's really sad when you buy music, on a whim, that you haven't even heard of before. Like today, I just bought the Wilco: Summerteeth album, (Summerteeth is the title) that Hanson talked about last December on a 'Mark and Brian' radio show.
The first thing that came into my head when I heard is it 'Weird!' because that's what it is. They use alot of different unstruments and the lyrics just sound like a stream of consciousness (that's when you just write/talk off the top of your head).
Ex: "I dreamed about killing you again last night
and it felt alright to me"
Actually I can't think of anything to compare them to, but less just say that it is really interesting. The music is what catches you off guard and they put in so many different elements and sounds to the songs. One minute it sounds like 'Mr. Rogers neighborhood' and the next minute your in a funeral parlor (with organs and trumpets), It's rather different, but in a good way.
I really recommend this band if you have the money or time to get their album. Wilco
