LIS- Chapter 3

"Hey Taylor!" A girls voice said almost before I was finished talking to my mother.

"Uh...Hey..Jessi?" I asked and saw Natalie come out of the bathroom in her red sundress. We were going to an expensive restaurant here on the ship.

"Jessi?..No Tay don't you remember me? Im Kaitlin Thomas, we used to go to church together before you guys hit it big," Kaitlin replied in a embarassed voice.

"Oh...Yeah, but ya know it's been a long time so.." I stammered and turned away from Natalie's direction. She was sitting on the bed behind me and I didn't want her to overhear.

"I know. Im really excited about seeing you again when you get back. Im staying with your family for a few days because Im started school this fall at Oral Roberts," She said and I felt Natalie's hand on my arm.

"Uh..Tay we need to go honey," Nat said and I turned back to Kaitlin.

"Um listen..I need to go so maybe we can talk when I get back to town," I said and listened for this girl to say goodbye. I finally hung up and turned back to my wife.

"Here's your jacket Tay," Natalie said and handed me my grey jacket. She smiled and I pulled her toward me and returned to smile.

"Your beautiful," I whispered and gave her a kiss until my watch's beeper went off.

"Come on," She smiled and we left the room.

We got to our table at the restaurant and were given menus. "This all looks great. I don't know what to eat first," She smiled as we looked at the pictures of food.

"I don't think we have to order here. Cause it's one of those expensive places where you have like 5 course meals," I said just as the waiters brought our first course of salad and bread.

"Wow!," She said with suprise as the food kept coming to our table. "Did we order all this?" She asked me over the table.

"It's free with the ship. Go ahead, eat up," I said and we began eating. I little while later our main entre' came out, which consisted of two large salmon fillets topped with a butter sauce and a green leaf on the side for accent. We also had two baked potatoes loaded with everything thought possible on them.

Natalie gave me one of her 'What the heck!' looks that said these people were outdoing themselves.

"It's not me Nat," I replied and saw her just smile. That's one thing that get's me about her. No matter how much you through at her, Natalie just takes it all in stride. She doesn't argue of anything just goes along with whatever.

That's probably another reason why we get along so good, (no to mention we're married). We just have the same type personalities and we have a connection we're we can talk without words, a real 'mind reader' connection.

After dinner (that was concluded with two triple risuttos made by an italian cheif) we went dancing. This next part of the evening was another special suprise to her, as we walked along the ship balcony.

Natalie once told me (when we were dating), that her grandmother used to dance when she was younger and she had pictures of it. Natalie has always wanted to go ballroom dancing and I wanted to let her do it.

As we neared the ballroom, I took a cloth from my pocket and tied it around her eyes. I then guided her into the ballroom and she heard music playing. We started dancing around the center of the room (with her eyes still closed), even though there was not music.

"Tay this feels stupid. Where are we?" She asked and slid the cloth from her eyes. Natalie stood in shock and I could see tears forming in the corners of her eyes. "Oh my gosh!"

"Do you know what this is?" I asked with a smile. I thought she might faint so I held out a hand.

"Yes a ballroom!..Oh Tay. I love you," She said and gave me a big hug. The music started up and we danced again. The room was quickly filling with more people so we decided to get a drink and we sat down.

"This is amazing. I had no idea," Natalie said and I smiled with satisfaction.

"Now what? Are you tired of dancing?" I asked with a smile and she pulled me out on the dance floor.

"What do you think?" She said and motioned to the musicians to play a more upbeat song. The music started and we began dancing around faster.

Now Im not much of a dancer and this felt slightly embarassing but with Natalie smiling beside me, I felt completely confident. We danced a few more times and then went walking again out on the deck.

"How was it? Did you have a good time?" I asked as I took her hand and we walked along.

"It was amazing. I love you," She whispered and pushed me up against a wall and began kissing me.

"Hey? Public displays of affection are unlike you. What exactly did you drink?" I asked with a sly smile after pulling away.

"The same thing you drank, now come on. We're going back to the room," She said and pulled me along back down the hall.

With complete satisfaction I followed her willingly.
