Somewhere in his silence
he had spoken volumes to her.
She had felt his lonliness,
and in soft, velvet moments...
she reached inside him,
and found places
it frightened him
to have touched.
She tried her best
to forge like steel forever,
the bond between them,
using the heat of her passion,
the warmth of her smile,
the tenderness of her caress,
the fire in her heart,
the strength of her spirit.
When he left her with tears,
she knew not if she cried
for herself or for him....
Knowing time would surround him
in a silence of his own making,
in a lonliness of his own choosing,
listening to nothing but the beat
of his solitary heart.
