Ever stare at leftovers and
want to make something out of them but don't want
to start looking through your cookbook for ideas?
Here is "the recipe" I was
thrilled to get:
NEW BRIDES CASSEROLE
(Create A
Dinner Casserole)-
1 c. main
ingredient (suggestions: tuna, cubed chicken,
turkey, ham, seafood, hamburger meat)
1 c. second
ingredient (suggestions: thinly sliced celery,
mushrooms, peas, chopped hard cooked eggs)
1/2 c.
starch ingredient (suggestions: thinly sliced
potatoes, cooked noodles, cooked rice, tater tots, tortillas,
spaghetti noodles )
1 -1/2 c.
binder (suggestions: cream sauces, sour cream,
white sauce, can of soup, spaghetti sauce,)
1/4 c.
goodies,
optional (suggestions: pimiento,
olives, almonds, water chestnuts, pecans)
Seasoning
(suggestions: garlic
powder, onion powder, chicken bouillon powder, cayenne, onion soup
mix, Hidden
Valley, dry)
Topping
(suggestions: potato chips, cheese, bread crumbs)
Thoroughly mix your
combinations of the above ingredients. If it seems dry, add 1/2 c
milk or stock.
Place in buttered
casserole dish and bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes.
