THE HAPPIEST DAY
Now I
have reached a new chapter in my life. I
have a new wife, a son, new love for God and a new reason for
living. If
it didn't happen to me, I would never have believed it!

This verse speaks of giving one’s life,
dying for another. I believe it has another meaning. That is, someone
who gives their life by giving up personal gain for the sake of
another. That’s what I think of when I think of Tami. I imagine all the
sacrifices she made to marry me. She didn’t mind all of my limitations,
what I couldn’t give. She saw my possibilities. As we talked on the
phone, she fell in love with the inner me. The man I truly am beyond
the chair. She knew when we married, ours
would not be a normal relationship but it would be beautiful.
The morning after our wedding day she got
up and went into the kitchen to fix breakfast while I stayed in bed. A
little while later she came in with my breakfast tray of fruit and
cereal and on the tray was a single crimson rose in a clear vase. I
just laid there and cried. It was the happiest moment of my life for I
realized God had brought her to me saying, “Everything is going to be
fine. I will never leave you. I will always love you.”
Ten years later we adopted Taylor and my
life
became complete.

One summer day I woke my wife up
With the rising of the sun.
I asked her, “Do you think we had the
chance
To choose what we've become?
“Because the Father said He knew us
Long before our time on earth,
And He had every minute written down
Before our day of birth.
“So did we have a conversation
Where He told us of His plan,
And how we each had a specific role
To do as He commands?
“Or did He give the opportunity
For each of us to choose
All of our trials and tribulations
And the gifts that we would use?
“I only ask you 'cause you know me
well.
You see what I endure.
And though it's not a crucifixion,
It's a hard life to be sure.
“Since the first day you said you
loved me,
You've been always by my side.
And there you've laughed when I was
laughing,
And you've dried the tears I've cried.
“Sometimes I watch you as you're
sleeping
After such a dreadful day,
And I just close my eyes and thank
the Lord
For sending you my way.
“Because, like Jesus, you have helped
me
With your tender loving care,
And you have carried on your shoulders
Burdens I could never bare.
“The most important thing you've done
for me,
You'll never understand.
For even after all I've been through,
You make me a thankful man.
“Most days your face to me is shining
But at times it's lost its glow.
When you have days you feel
discouraged,
There's one thing I'd like to know...
“Did you ask God if you could be the
one
To love me as a wife,
If you could care for me, be there
for me
Each morning of my life?
“Because the joy your presence brings
me
Helps me make it through each day.
And God knows mainly you're the reason
There's a smile upon my face.
“Since I could never have been Jesus
Son of God and perfect Truth
If I could not have been myself
Then I would choose to be like you.”
