Missouri

The first stop on my travels was at Elephant Rocks.  From Fredericktown, Missouri (where I live) you would take Highway 72 then Highway 21 to reach this awesome place.  This park has some of the largest rocks I have ever seen and have been here for oodles of years.  According to guide books 1.2 billion-year-old granite boulders stand end-to-end resembling an elephant train.  Formed by unique geologic and weathering processes. The largest rock measures 27 feet by 35 feet and weights 680 tons! They have a very nice trail to walk that have interesting markers for guides and also have Braille interpretation.

We are going to start our tour with a budding rock climber.

Here we have some nice pictures before we start our climb to the big rocks that get the name Elephant Rocks.

Let's head up to the top of the rocks to the "biggies" First we have to go through "Fat Mans Pass" (that is what it is named), then the quarry and on up to the rocks

I do hope you enjoyed the tour and someday maybe you will be able to take an actual tour and take your own photos.
