Headlight switch

Sometimes the headlight switch wants to be a problem. Corrosion rust bad termials wire end all lead to easier to replace the switch. The map light also needed to be replaced.

A. Items Required:

1. Headlight switch NAPA part # HL6617 $40.00 ea

2. Dash Light A-13705-AR 1928-30 $20.55 / ea. (Snyders Ford Parts) Head Light Switch

1. Remove battery Cable.
2. Remove (tiny) screw on headlight switch pull button.
3. Turn pull button to the left (counter clockwise) until button comes off.
4. Remove nut that holds light switch.
5. Drop old switch down (remove wires one at a time and place on new switch).
6. When all wires have been removed from old switch reverse procedure for installation.
7. Turning the button to the right will make the dash lights brighter.
8. I always replace all the dash light bulbs when I service the dash (up to you).

Map Light:
1. Remove old map Light assembly.
2. Keep the wire harness.
3. Replace the bulb (six volt) that came with the light.
4. The new map light is installed with a large locking nut that goes on the back side.
5. You must have a good ground connected to the housing.
6. The map light is designed to be operated by turning the housing to the right to turn on.
7. I mounted a remote switch under the dash (your choice)


Reconnect battery cable, check new light switch for proper operation, read a map, watch your speed at night
