Now is a good time to do a heater upgrade on the Shay
New heater is a Jegs Mojave heater

$159.99 includes switch and wiring.Lets get started.
1. Remove the seat, remove access cover, remove old heater, duct work, heater hose all way to motor (if rumble seat heater is still in place will need to remove it.)
2. Need to make 2 mounting brackets, I used pieces of channel 11 1/4 long, mounted channel front to square tubing under the Shay dash.
3. The firewall end of the channel I mounted to the firewall, use 1/4 20 1 hardware. Use washers on both sides of firewall. Tilted the mounting brackets slightly down at the front.
4. Bored two 3/4 holes to route the heater hose from the motor to under the dash.
5. I used an inline cutoff in each line. (You choose what is best for you.)
6. Made angle bracket to locate the switch on the square tubing (next to the heater unit).
7. The old heater switch I left intact and wired, I may use it for fog/driving lights.
The new heater is in place, Was a time consuming project but well worth the effort.
