The rumble seat heater was leaking and I removed it. Since I had no plans to replace the heater I decided it was a good time to build a jack storage under the seat cushion.

1.Remove the Heater assembly; this left the vent hole and the air circulation hole in the heel rest.

2. Cut a 3/8X6.5X38 board to cover the holes and provide airtight heel rest.

3. Since I have air shocks as well as shock extenders could only make the opening 10X15

4. Made a 3/4 plywood box 8x11.5X4.5

5. Used angle brackets that fasten to the floor.

6. Seal everything with instant nails and screws.

7. Painted interior and exterior with black undercoating.

Completed, waiting for Jack (not Daniels)

Any additional room is always a plus with a Shay.
