One of the key areas overlooked on the Shay is wheel bearing grease in the front wheels.

The wheel bearing grease will dissolve and even if you have a low mileage car they will be dry.

1. Jack up the car, be sure to use jack stands.

2. Remove front wheel.

3. Using an Allen wrench remove the screw that holds the caliper assembly.

4. Drive the locking slide out of the caliper assembly.

5. Notice the spring clip and its orientation as you will reuse this.

6. Swing the caliper assembly from the rotor, be careful not to damage brake hose.

7. Remove the grease cap and the cotter pin.

8. Remove the lock and the nut and the flat washer.

9. Remove the front bearing. Remove the rotor from the spindle.

10. Clean all components and use new grease.

11. Repack rear bearing, spindle, front bearing work the grease into the bearings. Assemble is reverse the above steps.
