Dorino is the "Silent Protagonist" of the game, ala Crono and Serge, even though Kid is really the main character. He is a young and inexperienced knight in the service of the King and Queen of Guardia, and is presently stationed at the Northern Outpost on the far frontier of Guardia territory. At the King's request, Dorino is sent on a mission to Denadoro, the region where he was born, in the far south of Guardia. The people of Denadoro have reported odd goings-on in the Magic Forest along the Guardia-Porre border, and are growing concerned. Fearing that the demi-humans might be planning for battle ala the infamous "Mystic War" of the late BC period, the King sends Dorino to investigate. It is at this time that Dorino meets Kid and gets mixed up in her misadventures.
