Methuselah was one of the original Gurus of Zeal, appointed to his position by the first King of Zeal at the dawn of the age of magic. Little is known of Methuselah, even in 10,000 BC. Legend claims that he mastered the secret of immortality and may be dwelling somewhere in the world under an assumed identity. He has also been linked to the Nu and the discovery of the special properties of Dreamstone.

Kid encounters Methuselah at the Solarium on the Forgotten Continent, a lone spot of warmth and light in a frozen world. Methuselah recognizes something of Schala within Kid and helps her to realize her destiny.
