In the forgotten age of 10,000 BC, the young nation of Grand Zenan is ruled jointly by wizards--rare individuals who arise each generation with natural command of magic--and a cadre of learned advisers known as the Gurus. Like the legendary Melchior of Zeal, Solomon knows virtually all there is to know about inner strength, and how to imbue the power of the individual in a weapon.
