With his twin sister Reliza presently in exile, Vante is the supreme ruler of the vast empire of Grand Zenan. His primary concern as sovereign is for the security and integrity of the kingdom. The demi-human tribes of Ranidae and Manoria have made clear their ill-will toward Grand Zenan. Since Grand Zenan has successfully integrated the Medina tribe into its society, Vante believes he can bring the rebel tribes in, too, for the betterment of the world. Unfortunately, Manoria and Ranidae want no part of this, and are now threatening to take up arms against Grand Zenan.
Vante's response has been to prepare for a defensive war. He has granted the gift of magic to the warriors of Medina, who serve as Vante's army. These "Mystics," under the command of General Roz, will be sent into battle to subdue Manoria and Ranidae--and, if need be, destroy them.
