The Gathering Mecian's Revenge

t was meant to be. She knew it from the very start. As soon as she laid her eyes upon the feministic beauty, she knew there was a connection between the two lives. Her name was Minako Tianawane, but she preferred to go by "Mina." She was never the confident type and she seemed more worried about the small deals in life rather than the possibilities of devastation-threatening conflicts.Mina had been born into the world as the race known as human. Humanoid, as she was, however, took the blame for her parents' deaths. At the young age of three, she had been shuffled off to the laboratory of what appeared to be a prison camp. She remained as a guinea pig for the professor until she was of the age ten. Having been rescued from that miserable predicament, the young man who had saved her sent her to a dark and sheltered facility known as the Mecian Apparition. There was only one facility like this in the country at that time (later to be countered by several others).
It wasn't that Mina had been treated badly at the camp. She had never spoken of her experience much less did she speak at all. Even when she was examined, the physicians could find no scratches or scars upon her flawless body. But all the same, there was a distinguishable difference in the young girl as time went on. Her eyes sparkled with the brightest blue innocence and her hair was as radiantly beautiful as a light bulb when it has been stared at for an extended period of time. The blonde hair fell over her shoulders and would have grown longer had her caretakers not hacked it to the height of her developing hipbones. She often wore it in partial buns or let it fall around her face, the feathering giving her that of a regal stature.
At the age of sixteen, Mina met the one person who made her feel complete. A young lady of the same age had been transferred to the Apparition facility on account of the destruction of her original facility. This young woman was considered a complete opposite of Minako, which might have been the cause of the connection between the two. The newcomer had been registered beneath the name "Rei Kasumi."
Unlike Mina's bright features and tan flesh, Rei seemed gloomy... dark... obscure... and destructive. Her hair was a straight jet black, even darker than the nights that Mina always enjoyed. Her eyes were a deep crimson hue, the pupil appearing to be absorbed by the blood-red colour. And instead of even a peach or apricot pigment, Rei's skin was as white as the wings of the goddesses above.
Unlike the cold demeanor she shook off, Rei was merely a strongly opinionated young woman. She made it perfectly clear that she honestly didn't care what anyone else thought of her. Mina found Rei to be both disturbing to her mental tranquility, but exciting to her innermost thoughts and feelings.
As soon as the two had met, they hit it off and conveniently became the closest of friends. Of course... what a wondrous place the world would be if all things were that easy! Here's what really happened.
Mina was overcome with admiration for Rei and the two slightly befriended each other. Although Rei was grateful to have Mina around, she found Mina's paranoia and insecurity to become increasingly obnoxious. Eventually Rei would get annoyed with Mina and tell her off, making the young blonde sob. And then Rei would return later to apologise and forgive her. This happened in a repeating cycle until the two finally agreed on emotional and physical lines of space.
Finally, in the beginning of their second year together (both females were seventeen at the time), both had matured greatly and could be considered best friends. Mina had finally become more talkative (excluding her past in the prison camp) and even Rei had to admit that she was beginning to blossom into a fair flower. Rei, on the other hand, learned to understand Mina's feelings (and vice versa) and motivation, and then realised that there was a more polite way to express her personal beliefs and opinions. Over the course of one year, the two seemed to have switched roles. Rei was more on the quiet side, always keeping a good ear to listen to Mina. And Mina became loud, irritating, and aggressive. Perhaps that all changed when the two females were finally trained to physically dispute and then handed under the authority of their new instructor...
