Having a Toddler Means

I was going to make this post of the week, but I think I would like to keep it around a while. Our kids are going to be toddlers for a while and it is nice to have a page devoted to what it means to have toddlers in the house. So here are some of the things you said about toddlers. . .

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* It is no longer a choice, you HAVE to get the race car shopping cart

* I have now graduated to the title of "Mommie". Mama is only around if my little girl is tired or sick or teething.

* Walking is much preferred over being carried - especially if we are in a busy parking lot.

* You are in the middle of a communication boom. Emily is just chatting away and really, really trying to communicate. She gets so frustrated when she says something and I don't understand it.

What are yours?

* When I am blocking something she wants, she says "Scoot!", while pushing me aside.

* When we won't give her something she wants, she says "Yet GOOO!" and pulls it with all her might.

* She says, "Thank you, Mama" when I give her things.

* She names the animals on her diapers and makes their sounds. ("Montey diaper! Oo oo oo!")

* She thinks it's really funny to run run run away when I want a kiss.

*booster chairs are out, regular chairs are in

*I get a full nights sleep!

*We suddenly love milk as much as we loved ney ney

*It is getting harder to snuggle jake or sydney without the jealous boy going nuts.

*I can no longer finish a thought without being interrupted 20 times

Forgot my favorite! When I call her and she comes over and says "Yes?". Too funny!

*I no longer get to choose the clothes, Autumn has a definite opinion.

*no more diaper bag to lug around.

*Autumn loves to help with chores, cleaning out the dishwasher, sweeping etc.

*Autumn spends as much time pushing the stroller as riding in it.

No more "Baby Bucks" which turn into free gift cards at the grocery for purchasing baby items. Realize that for the last few dozen trips, we've not even visited the baby aisle there.

Every writing utensil spotted results in screams and thrashing and pleading of "Write! Write! Write!"

Second the Amen! for sudden milk consumption. Whew!

When she DOES want to kiss, it's this weird kiss-after-kiss episode like we're making out or something . Cracks me up.

And Julie, to answer a question you asked long ago - TWO SECONDS!!!!!!!!!!! That's how long it takes for me to realize that Elmo is playing in the car instead of my music . So OVER it!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*Bianca has to feed herself

*Says tank ku everytime we hand her something or she hands us something

*wants to help unload the dishwasher even when were loading it

*shakes her head no if I pick out clothing she doesn't care for

*I never spend a half decent day (weather wise) inside

*Climbs into my bed on Saturday mornings & jumps all the while saying owside, owside, peeeeaaasssss Mommy!

*I can't turn my back for 1 split second when were outside. She takes off like a lightening bolt

* Like Danni, we no longer visit the "baby aisle" and Babies R Us is pretty much no use anymore.

* Walking from point A to point B is an adventure. There's always something new to pick up, look at, and we must reverse directions several times on a whim from the toddler.

* Food preferences are voiced loud and clear and the food travels much further when thrown now.

* The broom and vac have become hers, and Mommy must wait to clean properly until Jaycie goes to bed.

* All buckets or pails, must be worn on the head or used as seats.

I have the best new one. She just pulled this stunt last night.

As she is ripping something of mine from my hands, she looks me square in the eye and says, "Share."

I LMAO.

How about this one...

Having a clinging toddler means you don't get private bathroom time EVER!

Sorry, it's early and that's all I can think of.

He has to drink out of a regular cup- even if it means eventually spilling it everywhere

Today, he ate a bowl of cereal with milk!

Says please for everything and thinks that as long as he says please, he should get it

Temper tantrums galore

No more mama, it is MOMMMMYYYYY all the way

The other day, he had stinky feet
