The first USS Galetea was an aircraft carrier from 1999 until 2032 when she was destroyed by a terrorist faction.
Then the name Galetea was used in 2244 for the Constitution class version.
This starship was send to explore the galaxy like all of her class.
But in 2280 she was on a patrol mission near the romulan border and attacked.
Her deflector was hit and most of the hull exploded during a power overload.
The saucer was the only thing working with power battery’s and she was left alone in space.
3 days later the USS Masdor saved the survivors and destroyed the remains of the ship.

A Constitution class refit was renamed USS Galetea and remained in service until 2299.
Then the USS Galatea - NCC-2520 was placed in service under command of Captain John Edward Devonshire.
This ship remained in service until 2360 and she was sent the Starfleet scrap yard in the andor system.
But during the dominion war she was called back to the frontline and was refitted to be placed in combat.
After her refit she was part of the 7th fleet and she remained in service after the war in the command of Damien Thorn
