There are many people in this world that are completely unfamiliar w/colorguard or only know them as the girls w/the flags that go w/the band. Colorguard is an artistic sport that takes place mostly during the summer and fall months. The summer and fall seasons consist of parades and field shows. The main thing that seperates colorguard from winterguard is that the field performances for colorguard are outside on a football field. Colorguard is a unique activity that combines the grace of dance, facials of theater, strength of athletes, and rythym of musicians. Looking @ a show, one may never guess the work put into it unless they have worked w/a guard before. And that's part of the challenge of being in a guard. You have to convince the audience that what you are doing is no challenge to you. It takes skill and dedication to participate in such and activity.
