Benefits of registration

All though copyright registration is not required because copyright statute automatically grants copyright protection to every work created on or after
January 1, 1978, it is an excellent idea to register the copyright in any work that you
think to be more than passing significance.
Copyright registration is prerequisite to filing a copyright
infringement suit. Registration also gives notice to the world that you are the author of the copyrighted work.
