My Apartment

I have an AWESOME apartment! Very roomy and spacious! I have 2 bedrooms, dining/living room, kitchen, toilet room and shower room. It's much bigger than some of the other ALT's apartments. My rent is 55,500 yen/mo ($670 cnd/mo). I am not sure about the expenses because I get really confused with all the bills that I get. I just pay them - hope there aren't any mistakes! I'm happy with the location of my apartment, although, I would have liked to have been closer to the train station. I'm a 25 minute walk to downtown Kanazawa (15-20 minutes if I hustle) and a 40 minute walk to the train station. There are a number of buses that are in front of my apartment that will take me to the station for 210 yen ($2.50).

I have started to spend more time in my bedroom again because it's so cold in the rest of my apartment. I need to figure out how to use the kerosene heater, but I keep forgetting what kerosene is called in Japanese, so I haven't gone to buy it at the gas station. I have also started debating whether to bring my tv into my room. It's so cold in the rest of the house. Last night, during dinner, I could see my breath while I was eating. Gosh, it was cold!
