Salem Cemetery
Winston-Salem, NC
Salem Cemetery is a very old cemetery in Winston-Salem, NC. In areas, the gravesites date back as far as the colonial era. We were fascinated by some of the stories you could piece together from the headstones and markers.
There were two markers in particular that we were touched by. The two little Stockton boys, who both died on the same day in 1896. We are still doing research to find out the circumstances of their deaths if we can. Judging from our pictures, one of them just may have showed up to say hello.
